This running 1989 Toyota Supra was my daily driver until 2 months ago. This would make an ideal project, parts car or affordable driver. The motor was replaced when I first bought it over 6 years ago with a blown head gasket and 187,000 miles. Along with the JDM motor, the belts, hoses, ignition wires, exhaust, heater core, and radiator were replaced at the same time. The paint by the door handles has chipped and is faded in spots. The tires have good tread left but have started to rot. The roof and hatchback gaskets need replacing and the bolt holding the roof on in the front passenger side spins free without coming out. The roof does leak in a heavy rain but the car comes with, and has been kept under a fitted car cover. The dash has a large crack by the steering wheel along some smaller ones. The steering pump works after warming up but squeaks when cold. Half a key is broken in the drivers door and the trunk needs to be opened with the latch by the drivers seat. The glove compartment will not unlock and the fuel door doesn't lock. The AC and cruise control have never worked since I bought it. When the speedometer stopped working I had to get newer car. This car has issues but I don't want any suprizes for the buyer. Overall the car runs well and the body is in good shape. I have loved this car and it is a lot of fun to drive. I will try to anwser questions within 24 hours. A $500 deposit is reqired within 24 hours after the auction ends.

Sporty cars from the '80s get retro reviews from MotorWeek
Tue, Mar 10 2015The more things change, the more they stay the same. That's the feeling we're left with after watching the retro-review video above, in which MotorWeek – television's original automotive magazine, as if you didn't already know – takes a look at the 1984 Honda Prelude. A sporty coupe from Japan that lacks the outright performance and thrust of comparable American and European competitors, but makes any perceived slight up with unarguably supreme driving dynamics? That sounds sort of familiar, doesn't it? As always, we love taking a look back at the early days of MotorWeek (the more things change, they more they stay the same, remember?). And it doesn't end there. Far from it, in fact. Not only did MotorWeek bestow upon us the Prelude, Maryland's favorite public television show also unleashed retro reviews of (deep breath) the '82 Fiat X1/9, '84 Olds Cutlass, '88 Lotus Esprit Turbo, '84 Nissan 200SX Turbo, '88 Subaru XT6, '88 Toyota Celica All Trac, '84 Ford EXP Turbo, '89 Suzuki Swift GTi and '89 Mazda 323 GTX. Watch them all, up above and down below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. This content is hosted by a third party. Watch this cement truck roll into Toyota minivan from driver's point of view
Thu, 10 Apr 2014If you've been having an easy day and haven't received your daily dose of unmitigated terror, then this video is for you. Dr. Guan Zhu, a Texas A&M professor, caught the above view on his dashcam in College Station, TX, as a cement truck ran a red light, lost control and rolled into his Toyota Sienna minivan.
Although he received only minor injuries, Dr. Zhu says that he blacked out during the accident. The truck driver also avoided serious injuries, and the Sienna took the hit rather well too. Scroll down to watch the footage and report from KBTX. Hopefully, this is as close anyone else ever gets to a terrifying event of this nature.
New drifting world record set in Toyota GT86
Wed, 30 Jul 2014We have entered a drifting arms race. Last year, BMW smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest drift by hanging the tail out for 51.3 miles around a wet skid pad in an M5 at the BMW Performance Driving School in South Carolina. That beat the previous milestone of nearly seven miles. Now, Bimmer's record is up in smoke as well and is in the possession of a Toyota.
German driver Harald Müller pummeled the old record to drift for 89.55 miles around a 0.15-mile (235.5-meter) course in Samsun, Turkey, in a Toyota GT86 (or Scion FR-S as it's known in the US). According to the Guinness World Records website, it took him 612 laps and 2 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds to manage the achievement. Sit back to watch a few minutes of the German's two and a half hours behind the wheel with the tail out.
