For sale is my 1987 Toyota Supra Turbo 5spd with Sport Roof. This was the first year of the 3rd generation Supra turbo car. This car may very possibly be the nicest stock MKIII Supra in the US!! I am the 3rd owner in the cars 25 year history. The car is just how it was the day it rolled off the showroom floor, TOTALLY FACTORY STOCK!! I have just about every piece of paperwork from that day: The window sticker, The PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) checklist from Toyota, The cassette tape talking about the cars options, Toyota accessories catalog, The correct VIN owners manual and the 1987 Toyota Supra sales brochure that came with the vehicle. I have only used OEM Toyota parts (if they were still available, some are not anymore) when servicing the vehicle and all work has been done by a Toyota Certified Technician. The vehicle is very mechanically sound, a few moans and groans every now and again, but nothing out of the ordinary for a 25 year old car. The car still has all its factory original equipment such as exhaust, suspension and a completely stock engine. AC has been converted to R134A and climate control system works great. All electronics such as Power windows, Power mirrors, Power seat, Cruise control, T.E.M.S. System, Anti-lock brakes and Factory Stereo W/cassette are all in working order. All seals for doors and sport roof in great shape with no leaks. The car was just driven across state to participate in a very prominent, invite only car show, and it performed flawlessly on the road trip!! The car has absolutely ZERO RUST, all body panel VIN Tags match and vehicles paint is in great condition. There is only 1 very minor fender bender reported on the Car Fax in the cars 25 year history and that required no repair work, just the removal of some paint scuffs and scratches. This is a very immaculate vehicle for its age and to have such a nice paper trail dating all the way back to the beginning is very rare!! The vehicle is for sale locally and in other media forms, so I reserve the right to end this auction early!! I encourage you to please ask any questions you may have before bidding, Buyer is responsible for any type of shipping, trucking or picking up of the vehicle. The vehicle is being sold as is with no type of warranty implied. The car is a magnificent classic that has been gaining value in recent years. You would be hard pressed to find a classic MKIII Supra of this caliber!!

Toyota to ramp up Tacoma production in Mexico by 41%
Sun, 21 Sep 2014The Toyota Tacoma may be getting on in age, but that isn't stopping the Japanese manufacturer from ramping up production at the pickup's Baja California factory. The Mexican plant will soon be home to another 300 jobs as it increases total capacity by 41 percent. The increase is slated for April 2015.
The move is a curious one, considering the Tacoma's age and the fact that General Motors is preparing what, on the surface, appear to be two very competent challengers. The factory increase could be in preparation for the 2016 Taco (spy photos shown above), which is expected to represent a significant overhaul of the long-serving truck.
Toyota's decision to increase capacity could also be due to the factory building freeze implemented by President Akio Toyoda, according to Automotive News. Toyoda put a hold on new factories until 2016, asking executives to squeeze as much production as possible out of remaining factories before bringing any additional facilities online.
Toyota promoting Mirai as if hydrogen tax credit never went away
Wed, Jan 28 2015At the end of December, the US federal government let the $8,000 tax credit for hydrogen-powered vehicles expire. Despite this little wrinkle, Toyota is still promoting the upcoming 2016 Mirai fuel cell vehicle as a car that will cost under $50,000. In some cases a lot less, since it may also qualify for a $5,000 incentive in California. The car has a $57,500 MSRP, but Nihar Patel, vice president of North American Business Strategy for Toyota Motor Sales, spoke at the 2015 Washington Auto Show last week, and said that the Mirai could cost $44,500 in California. You can see this in the video at around minute four. Toyota knows that the federal incentives have expired, since the real news from the show was Patel's public request to the federal government that the $8,000 tax credit be extended. "We think that the federal credit expiration last year puts [hydrogen] customers in a fairly disadvantageous postion," he said. Plug-in vehicle buyers can still get up to $7,500 tax credit and, "we believe that this inequity needs to be fixed," he said. You can see this in the video at minute 10:20. Toyota said including both the after-incentives price and the call to reinstate those incentives was intentional since it shows a discrepancy between hydrogen and plug-in vehicles in the eyes of the feds. We asked Toyota's director of Energy and Environmental Research, Technical and Regulatory Affairs, Robert Wimmer, for more details on Toyota's request. "[The Mirai] being a ZEV and battery electrics also being ZEVs, we just want to make the playing field as level as possible," he said, adding that any extension would last "for the run of the vehicle," which would be three years. He admitted that the extension might only be for one or two years, if it happens at all. (A Toyota spokesperson clarified to AutoblogGreen that the Mirai program will not end after three years.) And that's the problem. "The tax process is difficult to predict," he said. "The two challenges we have now are that both houses of Congress are Republican and also that there has been talk for a while about comprehensive tax reform. If that moves forward, then extenders would probably be put on the back burner as comprehensive tax reform is discussed." Wimmer would not reveal any details about how Toyota is pressuring the government to act, only saying that Toyota's has people lobbying up on Capitol Hill.
Editors’ Picks March 2023 | Hot hatch galore and some great luxury SUVs
Tue, Apr 4 2023This month of Editors’ Picks sees us hand out a pair of nods to the best hot hatchbacks money can buy these days, the Honda Civic Type R and Toyota GR Corolla. You can read more about how they compare in our head-to-head comparison test, but both have their advantages, and we can highly recommend buying either of them. Then we head to Europe to recognize a couple of SUVs that just went through mid-cycle refreshes and came out on the other side just as lovable as they were before. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get an EditorsÂ’ Pick designation. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in January that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2023 Honda Civic Type R 2023 Honda Civic Type R front low View 34 Photos Quick take: The Honda Civic Type R embodies what at means to be a hot hatch. It's the best FWD car we've ever driven, and because it's a Civic, it excels with a spacious and pretty interior, too. This is the full package. Score: 8.5 What it competes with: Toyota GR Corolla, VW Golf R Pros: Sublime driving dynamics, magical shifter, gorgeous and utilitarian interior Cons: An expensive proposition, lacks basic luxuries like heated seats From the editors: Senior Editor James Riswick — "The Civic Type R is a resolutely composed performance machine that sufficiently builds upon the delightful man-machine interfaces found in the increasingly impressive trio of Civic Sport Touring, Civic Si and Acura Integra A-Spec. ItÂ’s even more fun and capable at higher speeds, yet remains just as forgiving and easy to drive. The 2023 Honda Civic Type R sure seems all grown up. Maybe itÂ’s because IÂ’m almost in my 40s, (ugh) but I see absolutely nothing wrong with this. The Type R magic is not lost." In-depth analysis: 2023 Honda Civic Type R First Drive Review: All grown up isn't so bad  2023 Toyota GR Corolla 2023 Toyota GR Corolla Circuit front three quarter low View 39 Photos Quick take: The GR Corolla is a serious performance machine that is sure to please any enthusiast with its brilliant driving dynamics. It's only let down by a cheap-feeling and small interior that doesn't lend well to daily driver duty.
