You are bidding on a 1981 Toyota Supra. It handles and drives beautifully....a truly fun car to drive and be proud of. The Paint is in excellent condition and we get compliments on the condition of this vehicle constantly. The engine runs very smoothly as it's been maintained meticulously. I just rebuilt the transmission because it was not shifting into overdrive. The transmission now shifts like it should and you should have no problems with it for years to come. Please see the picture of the car travelling on the freeway and you will see that it's travelling at the 2,000+ RPM....showing the transmission has shifted into the 4th gear. There are not many first generation Supra's in this condition. The silver color is also a plus as it stands out always....and does not show dirt. There are very very minor dings if you look closely at the right door. It's not noticeable but it's a 30+ year old car and no car is perfect. The left electric window has stopped working recently and I bought a switch replacement. Buyer will have to attend to this electric window upon purchase. The interior is in great condition as seen in the pictures. You will be very happy owing this car. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! - All the original Toyota radio, cassette player and equalizer works. No aftermarket sound system was installed. All original. - The spare tire is an efficiency (smaller sized) spare and not a full size tire. - The car has 124,000+ miles and it is consistent with the maintenance records that will come with the car. Car will come with a stack of maintenance records. 124,000+ miles is low for a 32 year old car. - The paint condition is glossy all the way around. No peeling spots or signs of clearcoat peeling. The 1981 Supras were the first year Toyota had the clear coat option on their Supras. - New Fuel Pump installed recently. - Engine is very quiet and powerful. The six cylinder engine gives this car a smooth strong pickup. It's somehow quieter than the 4 cylinder engines on the Celicas. - Sunroof works and there are no leaks. You would see leaks in the roof liner but there are none. - The muffler has also been replaced recently. - The transmission rebuild was done by a transmission shop (and not out of my home garage), so it's done correctly and it's one less concern for the new owners because most older Toyota's will have transmission problems over time. This rebuild should be taken into consideration in your bidding. Please be aware that a Supra in this condition does not come by very often. No warranty expressed or implied. Car is sold as is, where is. Please ask as many questions as you like. This car will not be a disappointment. |

8 excellent minivans you can't buy in the United States
Tue, Dec 13 2022Americans have fallen out of love with minivans. For some reason, a super-practical, multi-seat vehicle that can haul almost anyone and anything is less popular than giant SUVs that make it difficult to access the third row. The rest of the world hasn’t forgotten the minivanÂ’s virtues, and many well-known automakers offer a whole rainbow of family carriers, some of which offer clever camping and luxury features. Here are some forbidden-fruit vans we canÂ’t buy in the United States. Toyota Noah/Voxy The Toyota Noah and Voxy have been around since the early 2000s and sit below the Alphard (more on that below) in the automakerÂ’s van line. ToyotaÂ’s sales model in Japan seems complicated from the outside, as the company sells different vehicles at different types of dealerships. The Noah was originally sold at ToyotaÂ’s Corolla Stores before the automaker shifted its model to the van in all locations in 2020. Now in their fourth generation, the van twins offer unique family-friendly features like a step system and use ToyotaÂ’s latest hybrid system. Toyota Alphard The Toyota Alphard is a stately minivan sold in several countries and regions, including Bangladesh, China and the Middle East. ItÂ’s now in its third generation and features Lexus-like styling with a massive cabin. The Alphard is available with several powertrain options, including some it shares with Lexus and other Toyota models, including the ES 350 and Highlander. Toyota equips the Alphard with several advanced safety features, and the van can comfortably carry up to eight people. That said, the Alphard is more expensive than many of its rivals in the markets where itÂ’s sold, so people may consider other options. Mitsubishi Delica If youÂ’ve spent any time in the automotive corners of social media, youÂ’ve seen a Delica. TheyÂ’re everywhere now, as Americans figure out that a small, light van with real ground clearance and four-wheel drive is a great thing. Mitsubishi has made different vehicles under the Delica name, including a truck and a kei car, but the minivan is the one most of us recognize. The Delica entered its fifth generation way back in 2007 and got a facelift in 2019. ItÂ’s still available with four-wheel drive, though Mitsubishi also sells a front-drive version. TodayÂ’s van is light years away from the classic models we can import here and features a massive grille with unique front lighting fixtures.
Buy a Toyota GT86 and your wife will hate you
Wed, 14 Nov 2012Marketing can be a very strange business. Convincing a man or woman (or child, really) that they absolutely cannot live without the latest, greatest new bit of technology oftentimes takes a unique approach. In the "online film promoting the Toyota GT86" you'll see below, created by agency Happiness Brussels, men are reverse-psychologied into thinking a new sports coupe will make them more masculine by getting their loved ones to hate them. Or something like that. We think.
In any case, we suggest you watch the video below to see how much fun men can have with a GT86 - or Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ, presumably - at the expense of their significant others. Fair warning: There's a potential Not Safe For Work moment in the ad: beware of a brief male butt shot about 44 seconds in.
Marketing. Gotta love it. Unless you're married to a man. Or something like that. We think. Whatever, just watch.
Cars most likely to be involved in accidents
Tue, Nov 30 2021Data from Insurify shows which models have the most accident-prone drivers behind the wheel. It also shows the proportion of the drivers of said vehicles with an at-fault accident on record in the past seven years, based on Insurify’s analysis of over 4 million car insurance applications. For reference, the national average is 10.78%, and each of these vehiclesÂ’ drivers represent a statistically significant increase over that. Now, it would be easy to infer that these cars are dangerous, but such is not necessarily the case. Remember, drivers cause accidents, not cars. These just happen to be the cars that accident-prone drivers drive. YouÂ’ll notice that many are mainstream, affordable cars, often with decent crash ratings. Also keep in mind that vehicle accidents are up since the beginning of the pandemic, so no matter what you drive, please drive safely. 10. Hyundai Ioniq This affordable, electrified vehicle platform sneaks into this list with 14.45% of drivers with a recent at-fault accident on record. 9. Lexus CT Another hybrid, this Prius-powered Lexus beats the national average at 14.57%. 8. Toyota Prius V Yet another hybrid, the larger but discontinued member of the Prius family sees 14.72% of its drivers with recent accidents. 7. Mazda CX-3 The Mazda CX-3, which is discontinued for the 2022 model year, sees the accident-prone making up 14.9% of its drivers. 6. Infiniti Q60 The second and final luxury car on this list has more accident-prone drivers than average, at 14.93%. 5. Subaru Impreza The first of two Subarus on this list has 15.1% of drivers with recent accidents on record. 4. Hyundai Genesis Coupe The Genesis Coupe was only on the market for a brief span before it was discontinued and Genesis spun off into its own luxury brand. That said, it too beats the national average for accidents, at 15.29%. 3. Subaru WRX Despite its standard all-wheel drive, the boy-racer WRX has 15.44% of drivers with a prior accident in the last seven years. 2. Kia Stinger We love the Kia Stinger, and had great luck with our long-termer that graced the Autoblog garage for a year. That said, 15.75% of its drivers represent have a recent accident on record. 1. Scion FR-S This fun two-seater attracts the most accident prone drivers, with 15.87% with recent at-fault crashes.
