1999 Toyota Solara Se Coupe 2-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Seffner, Florida, United States
I bought this car for my girlfriend not knowing that she couldn't drive a stick shift. So that is why the car is for sale. I am selling the car for exactly what I paid which is $4,000. This car is a Florida car and has always been so there is no rust. It's a 1999 Toyota Solara SE V6 5 speed car. It runs and drives perfect. Everything works perfectly on this car. The AC blows very strong and is ice cold. The motor is very strong and quiet. Their are no oil leaks or funny sounds. No wires or hoses out of place or taped up. The battery is an Interstate battery which is a very good brand. I tested it and it shows 13 volts. I tested the alternator and it is working perfectly as well. The transmission shifts perfectly and the clutch works perfectly. The windows are power and they go up and down quickly and smoothly. The sunroof opens and closes perfectly with no squeaks or sounds. The seats are power and they move quick and quiet just as they should. Tires are all in good condition and it has all the factory hub caps. The radio is a Panasonic with remote control and it works perfectly. The car has an alarm and that also works perfectly. The brakes are smooth and quiet. The power steering moves smoothly. The headlights are clean and clear .All the glass is clean and clear. The problems with the car are, it has a dent and scratch on the front drivers side fender. The front and back bumper covers have scratches, but I think those can be buffed out. Overall this is a very good car that I wanted to own and I'm sure you would want to own. Feel free to have an inspection done or come by for a test drive. I am selling this car locally so first $4,000 takes it. I will consider trades if automatic. Suv preferred. Feel free to ask any questions or ask for specific pictures.

Toyota gives up more information on Frankfurt-bound Yaris Hybrid-R concept
Mon, 19 Aug 2013Toyota has undeniably carved out a niche for itself as the industry's leader in hybrid propulsion. What started out with the original Prius in 1997 has, over the past sixteen years, ballooned to what Toyota reports as a global hybrid portfolio of 23 models. But few (if any of them) are particularly exciting.
That's where the Yaris Hybrid-R concept comes in. Set to be showcased along with the rest of Toyota's hybrid and fuel-cell lineup at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show next month, the concept starts with one of the Japanese auto giant's least exciting models and upgrades it to more enticing territory. Toyota Motorsport GmbH - the same Cologne, Germany-based division that operated the company's F1 team, currently runs its Le Mans program and gave us that bonkers 650-horsepower Lexus LS - has slotted in a version of Toyota's new 1.6-liter Global Race Engine and paired it with a couple of electric motors for hybrid propulsion and through-the-road all-wheel drive.
Like the TS030 Hybrid LMP1, the Yaris Hybrid-R concept uses a super capacitor (instead of a conventional battery) to store the regenerated brake energy and give it upwards of 400 horsepower. That's about all Toyota is revealing at this point, but this is the first time it has confirmed the project is based on a Yaris, of all things, and the confirmation comes with the solitary teaser rendering you see above. Check out the press release after the jump and watch this space for more as Frankfurt fast approaches.
Toyota GT86 engineer Tada recounts how sports car came to be
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"
Lexus eschews production in China over quality concerns
Sat, 03 May 2014One of the more popular trends in the auto industry is setting up production operations in China. Mainstream manufacturers like Ford, General Motors and Volkswagen have done it, and even luxury marques like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have or will soon have manufacturing ops in the People's Republic.
One company that isn't building cars in China, though, is Lexus. The Toyota-owned luxury brand still manufactures all of its vehicles in Japan (aside from a few RXs, which are built at a Toyota factory in Canada). According to Tokuo Fukuichi, Lexus just isn't ready to build cars there yet.
"The German Three have a brand image that they have cultivated over the past century in their long history, but Lexus is not in people's minds like that yet," Fukuichi-san told Reuters UK.
