2005 Toyota Prius Perfect ~53,000 Miles on 2040-cars
Menlo Park, California, United States
Beige 2005 Toyota Prius, with 53,708 miles in its most recent service on 24 June, 2014; owner has records of every required servicing at Magnussen's Toyota in Palo Alto. All recalls have been taken care of. The seller is the original owner, and has been reassigned by his employer to Washington, DC, where he does not need a car, and this is why he is selling. The car is in perfect mechanical shape, and has beautiful leather burgundy seats and trim. The car has a few scratches on the body from scrapes in parking lots, a scratch from being "keyed" by a vandal, and from use of a bike rack. All could be like new with a simple paint job. The car has never been involved in an accident. The car has never been in the snow, and has always been garaged at home, so there is no salt corrosion on its underside. New auxiliary battery installed in November 2009, with 25,472 miles on the car. New tires were installed on 14 May, 2010 (Goodyear Integrity) when the car had 29,246 miles. With all these parameters put into Edmunds, they said market price is $10,843. The car would need to be picked up in Menlo Park, CA any day from August 5-10 with a cashier's check or an electronic deposit that clears into a Citicorp account with details that I could provide the buyer. |

Leaked Toyota FT-86 Open concept images preview droptop Scion FR-S [w/video]
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Here it is, folks - the highly anticipated Toyota FT-86 Open concept, a precursor to what could become a road-going Scion FR-S convertible. A full smattering of images and video have leaked onto the internet, and thanks to the folks at FT86Club.com, we can now see the new hotness that Toyota will be unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
These images confirm details that were first seen in spy shots captured a couple of weeks ago - namely, the larger wheel/tire package and the inclusion of the Toyobaru coupe's decidedly useless rear seats. These new photos, however, show a two-tone leather interior with goodies such as an iPod/iPhone mount on the dashboard. The concept car is also fitted with the coupe's six-speed automatic transmission (boo!) and FT86Club.com reports that the folding soft top is operated electronically.
We'll have the full details live from Geneva in just a few days. For now, click through our attached image gallery to see lots of pretty pictures of the topless wonder, and scroll down for a video to see the concept in motion.
Toyota MR2 shows why we still love the 1990s
Wed, 27 Nov 2013Was there a better time for Japanese performance than the 1980s and 1990s? It seems like looking back, Japan was on a roll, producing cars that were affordable, economical, reliable, fast and lightweight. And while all the attention is - thanks to a certain film series - focused on cars like Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-7, there is a lesser-known model that's establishing its own enduring legacy without the help of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.
The MR2, affectionately known as the "Mister Two" to fanboys, first arrived in 1984 as a lightweight, mid-engined sports car that proceeded to eat the lunch of the Pontiac Fiero in terms of performance. That car was replaced in 1989 with the more familiar, rounded-out MR2, which is the subject of this latest video from the team at Petrolicious.
The video takes a look at a group of MR2 drivers, and attempts to explain what it is about the car that is destined to make it a future classic. Scroll down to see Petrolicious examine the MR2 Connection.
2014 Toyota Highlander
Tue, 17 Dec 2013Midsize crossovers like the Toyota Highlander tend to play a thankless role in the life of today's modern family.
That's really too bad. With the ability to hold several hyperactive kids and tons of cargo while keeping everyone safe and comfortable in all kinds of climate conditions day in and day out, they're true heroes in the lives of hundreds of thousands of families across the country. Yet their car-apathetic owners often immediately forget about them as soon as their work is done. And nearly all midsize crossovers are thoroughly ignored by enthusiasts whose eyes begin to glaze over at first mention of the phrase "third row."
Toyota is looking to soften the blow somewhat by giving its midsize crossover, the Highlander, a big redesign for the 2014 model year. With a bold new look, updated suspension and a refreshed interior focused on comfort and convenience, Toyota aims to make the Highlander sportier to drive and more striking in appearance, because, as the marketing team explains, "families are going places and they want to get there in style."
