Original owner. Non smoker. Full synthetic oil changes every 7000 miles. Transmission flush with Amsoil synthetic at 95,000 miles. New Denso (OE) oxygen sensors. Very reliable daily driver. Used by my wife and given to our daughter for college commuting. Mostly highway miles. New plugs, air and cabin filters. No timing belt to replace, uses chain. Recent serpentine belt tensioner and pulley replaced as well as front brakes and rotors. NH inspection the end of last May. Well maintained and very clean inside and out. One season on new tires with OE alloy wheels. Snows mounted on original steel wheels and caps. Recent body shop estimate for cosmetic damage was $600-$800. Kelley Blue Book value of $6500. Despite slow sales, no new Scion models in near-term pipeline [w/poll]
Mon, 09 Sep 2013According to a top Toyota executive, the Japanese automaker will not be introducing any fresh Scion models in the near future, Reuters reports. As of August, Scion sales for this year were down 1.6 percent from 2012 and accounted for only 0.3 percent of Toyota's overall US sales. And last month, Toyota Motor Sales USA Senior Vice President Bob Carter informed the 1,000 dealers who carry Scion that they can drop the brand without penalty.
However, never fear - Carter has assured that, while nothing new is coming for at least six months, the company is still very committed to the quirky Scion brand. Toyota launched Scion, which targets the youth market, in 2003, and sales peaked in 2006. The brand currently has five models, with the 2013 best-sellers being the FR-S sports coupe followed by the tC sedan and xB hatchback.

Toyota recalls slew of models for possible airbag calibration defect
Mon, 28 Jan 2013Toyota is recalling sixteen models from the 2009 to 2013 model years over a potential issue with passenger seat airbag calibration. In spite of the large number of different Toyotas covered by the recall, just 3,235 units are included. These were vehicles installed with accessories like leather seat covers and headrest DVD systems by Southeast Toyota Distributors, and during the modifications the passenger seat occupant sensor system might not have been calibration tested. If the sensors aren't set up properly, the passenger airbag might not work as it should.
Affected models include: Avalon, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Corolla, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Highlander, Highlander Hybrid, Prius, Prius V, Rav4, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra and Venza. Scroll down for the relevant model years for each.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall will begin this month. Southeast Toyota will inform owners, at which time they can take their Toyotas to dealers for testing and repair. The complete bulletin from the NHTSA with more information is below.
