This 1975 ICON FJ40 is one of the first we built, back in 2006. It is #5! It remains in as new condition, with just under 2000 miles logged. Stored in a climate-controlled garage with an eclectic collection of vehicles. It is a nice and simple example, built upon the original Toyota chassis, enhanced with Old Man Emu suspension system. 350 HP, 400TRQ 5.7 cast iron GM Performance fuel injected Ram Jet V8, NV4500 five speed transmission, Atlas II shift-on-the-fly part time transfer case, Dynatrac axles (D60 Pro-Rock high pinion rear, D44 front), four wheel power assist disc brakes, ceramic coated exhaust, Warn 8274 winch, P/S, A/C, heated front seats, Mercedes vinyl seating textiles, tuck and tumble rear seat, machine turned dash panels, ARB Bull Bar, Kaymar rear bumper system. Hand crafted 5052 H32 5/32" think aluminum body (New OEM steel hood). MIL-spec innovative powder coated finish, polyurea coated underside and floor surfaces. Locking gun rated center console, full width locking compartment in tailgate. Runs and drives very well, it is a great FJ40 ICON! If you are not familiar with ICON, we started restoring vintage Land Cruisers back in the early 1990's with our TLC brand, and quickly became known as the best in the world at what we do. In response to the direction we witnessed the market heading, we started the ICON brand. ICON is focused on capturing the vintage aesthetic of classic vehicles, but married with high end custom engineering to provide a distinctly evolved mechanical experience. Please look into our brand, and I trust you will discover we take great pride in our work, and obtain a higher level of perfection that you are likely to find anywhere else. International shipping arranged with ease, local visits and test drives welcomed. We are in Chatsworth, California. We are a licensed and registered Ca dealer. All buyers will pay an additional $150 document fee. In State buyers will owe Ca sales tax and DMV. Out of State buyers can legally avoid paying Ca sales tax by having the vehicle shipped out of State via a licensed automotive transporter, which we will coordinate. icon4x4.

Toyota highlights JDM Mark X with special Yellow Label edition
Fri, 05 Sep 2014Never heard of the Toyota Mark X? That's because the Japanese automaker only sells it in its home market (and in China as the Reiz). It's a rear-drive (or all-wheel-drive) sports sedan about the size of a Lexus IS, whose existence is probably why Toyota will never bring the Mark X to North America. The current model has been on the market since 2009, but Toyota is rolling out a series of updates - including the new Yellow Label model pictured here.
Available on the 250G, 250G Four and 250G S trim levels, the Yellow Label gets a special shade of Awaken Yellow paint (though it can be had in black, white or silver as well), with an interior decked out in either yellow or black. It also gets piano lacquer trim, yellow stitching, pink gold accents, special tread plates and other interior equipment upgrades, as well as a unique set of alloys. All of which makes the Toyota Mark X Yellow Label perfect for recreating scenes from Kill Bill without the need to squeeze into yellow leathers. (In fact we wouldn't be surprised to see Toyota doing just that for a promo clip.)
Power comes from a 2.5-liter V6 (and not the larger 3.5 available on the 350S model) channeled through a six-speed automatic to either the rear wheels or all four. Pricing ranges between 2.8 and 3.1 million yen (~$26-30k), representing a premium of about 106k yen ($1k) over non-yellow models. Toyota operates four distinct dealer networks in Japan, and the Mark X is sold through Toyopet stores.
Toyota sells off Tesla shares, too
Fri, 24 Oct 2014The incredible rise of Tesla's stock price has done little to now stop two major shareholders from ditching their stake in the American EV manufacturer. First, Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, ditched its four-percent stake, and less than a week later, Toyota is doing the same thing, selling off an undisclosed bit of its Tesla investment.
The move comes as Toyota winds down sales of the RAV4 EV, which gets its batteries and electric motor from Tesla at the company's Fremont, CA factory.
"We have a good relationship with Tesla, and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects," Toyota spokesperson Kayo Doi told Bloomberg via email.
