HI,

Selling my beloved 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser - Gold Package with roof rack, brand new towing package & all the options possible for this Land Cruiser. It is the Gold Package most easily identified by the Gold trim hood emblem and rear gold lettering.
I am 2nd owner, bought in November, 2004 from Vasser Chevrolet in Napa, CA.
Meticulously well maintained by my good friend Randy, chief mechanic at Toyota Vallejo.
I bought truck with about 78k miles on it and over time she now has 282k miles. The truck received complete reconditioning in spring of 2011 with more then 12k in parts and labor to truck, sparing no expense and had truck running better then when I first purchased it in 2004!
The Land Cruiser is the best SUV, period. Safe, splendid on long drives, I cannot say enough about Land Cruisers.
The truck will always take care of its owner providing basic maintenance is done. Currently, this truck needs a new right front axle assembly. This was the last bit of under carriage stuff to do as shocks, struts etc are all new from 2011.
New owner will also want to install a new battery down the road. There are no dents, there is some slight peeling of the clear coat finish on hood, although hardly any.
The truck has never been driven off road or towed anything but is built very well for these things.
My driving consisted of commuting to and from work 4 times a week and once a week drive with my daughter to take her to dinner. The Land cruiser is very safe and my family very precious to me. Addtionally, the Bay Area commute down I-80 is gentle on vehicles, some of the people out there driving today are reckless and the Land cruiser greatly reduced my apprehensions. It is a big, solid and heavy truck but drives like a BMW 6 series I used to own long years ago!
She has been driven to and from San Diego to visit family and this is where the Land Cruiser really shines. She does better on gas mileage on highway then the dealership said. Moreover, she is really meant to cruise the land and would fly in and out of the grapevine with ease. The power of this truck is amazing and it handles exceptionally well. It is a luxury truck, but then really good at what trucks are supposed to do.
I am selling my Land Cruiser for only one reason due to chronic health problems that became life threatening and have suffered the financial troubles that go with serious illness. I have to get thru this bump in the road.
My very tragic loss can be someone else's gain. I know a great deal about these trucks, alot more than car dealers and my friend at Toyota taught me so much about the Land Cruiser.
The Toyota Land Cruiser body type changed in 1998 and remained the same thru 2007. Toyota introduced a tft type GPS travel thing in the dash as option in 2001, made it standard in 2002. This is the exact same body used during same years for the Lexus 450, except that truck had some a softer transmission and some cosmetics to appeal to the luxury folks. Several Toyota folks told me in confidence though that the best Truck overall was the actual Landcrusier.
Anyhow, new owner would need to register and smog truck which I am certain she will pass.

New owner needs to install the right front axle assembly which top of line brand new factory part is less then 100$. Completion of this repair means truck can be driven anywhere, any season, tires are all weather and are 4 new Coopers, plus new Cooper spare.
Oh! Land Cruiser is Black with a light tan interior, has 3rd row seats which are carefully stored in my garage and has custom cargo floor liner as well as up front and rear seating floor liners. Has sun-roof as well.
Truck has heated seats, power windows, super cold air conditioning, rear air conditioning & heating, all the options, nothing spared.
Look up a Kelley blue book 1999 Toyota LC & toss in "very good" as condition with all options & you will know what you are getting.
This Land Cruiser is destined for a million more miles on current engine and transmission and also has 4 new tires, and I am not joking about the million miles!
Truck is in Fairfield, CA.

This is sold cash only OR certified cashier's check. As is, no warranty expressed or implied. No PayPal. I will provide incentive discount for buyer who knows the value of this truck offer and will need to tow it to your mechanic to complete right front axle assembly installation. Local pick-up only. Please feel free to have your mechanic, any local mechanic come by and give it a thorough go thru.

This is a really great truck I paid 25k, another 22k in financing :(, & I put another 20k into necessary maintenance, essentially over maintaining it.

Toyota's car subscription service rewards you for safe driving

Tue, Feb 5 2019

Toyota has teamed up with Sumitomo Mitsui Auto Service Company to launch a new car subscription service with gamification elements in Japan. The program is called Kinto, and it'll offer two tiers: the first, called Kinto One, will allow you to drive one Toyota vehicle over a three-year period for anywhere between $420 and $900 a month. When the tier becomes available on March 1st, you can choose from the available Prius, Corolla Sport, Alphard, Vellfire and Crown models. The other tier called Kinto Select will give you the power to drive one of the available Lexus-branded vehicles for $1,630 a month for three years. Now, what truly makes Kinto potentially more interesting than other leasing services is a rewards program that awards points based on how well you drive. Toyota didn't really expound on how it will work, other than saying that it will "award points to customers based on their vehicle usage (such as for safe or ecological driving)." As TechCrunch notes, the assumption is that the vehicle's in-car connected system will come with the ability to monitor your driving. Best thing about it is that the points you earn aren't useless rewards you can't even use: you'll be able to apply them toward payments. Kinto's Select option will be available starting on February 6th, almost a full month before the more affordable Kinto One launches. Both will be available via select dealers in Tokyo on a trial basis, and they won't officially roll out across Japan until summer. The points program won't be available until fall, when Kinto One's options will also expand. Unfortunately, there's no word on whether Kinto will eventually roll out in the US and other markets outside Toyota's home nation. For more information on Vehicle Subscription Services, check out the Complete Guide.Reporting by Mariella Moon for Engadget.Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.

Best 3rd Row SUVs of 2024

Wed, Oct 19 2022

If you plan on using a vehicle's third row a lot, let us at least make the suggestion that a minivan would be a smarter bet than anything you're going to see on this list of best three-row SUVs. Their third rows are bigger, more comfortable and easier to get to. The kids will definitely be happier. Here are our two top choices.  OK, now that that's out of the way, we totally get why minivans are totally depressing and that if the kids want to be happier, they can buy their own darn vehicle. You're buying, you're driving, you're being seen in it and you'd rather have a three-row SUV. Fair enough. Luckily, there are more choices than ever and they're really good. The best do a particularly good job of being family friendly without looking like a drab transportation appliance, although really, you can't go wrong with any of the mainstream three-row SUVs. Now, some of the luxury choices are a bit suspect, including those that are otherwise very appealing but have cramped third-row seats (the Genesis GV80 comes to mind). We're focusing on three-row SUVs here, so having a usable third row is a must.   In this list, we have broken things down into four sub-categories: Best Three-Row Crossover |  Best Full-size Three-Row SUV Best Luxury Three-Row SUV |  Best Flagship Luxury Three-Row SUV Note that we define crossovers as SUVs since most buyers use the terms interchangeably, but acknowledge that "crossover" is literally a vehicle with a car-like unibody structure as opposed to the truck-like, body-on-frame construction that traditionally has defined "SUV." In other words, we consider all crossovers SUVs, but not all SUVs are crossovers (specifically those in the full-size segment and some in the flagship luxury segment). Best Three-Row Crossover SUVs of 2024 2024 Honda Pilot Why it stands out: Exceptional storage and cargo space; unique second-row functionality; refined ride; versatile and capable TrailSport; advanced AWDCould be better: Subpar acceleration with lackadaisical transmission and engine response; so-so driver assistance tech Read our full 2024 Honda Pilot Review The Honda Pilot was completely redesigned for 2023. It maintains its predecessor's family friendly packaging and overall focus, but it has injected a welcome sense of style (especially in the TrailSport pictured above) that makes it stand out much better from the big crossover crowd.
