1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 40th Anniversary Edition Locked & Loaded! on 2040-cars
Teaneck, New Jersey, United States
It has come time to sell my 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 40th Anniversary Edition with only 144,xxx miles. This is my daily driver so mileage will go up as time goes by. The car is a Central VA car, but for the few weeks ahead I will be in Northern NJ. This car has not been exposed long-term to Northern weather conditions (I'm just visiting the area) and does not suffer from rust, etc. Frame is fantastic.
I have a 2.5" ARB OME lift on with steering stabilizer, and some BF Goodrich A/T with plastidipped wheels. I also have an Alpine double din unit that has Sirius XM, Bluetooth, Navigation, CD Player, etc. A fully loaded unit. All speakers work well. The only thing that doesn't work on this car is the antenna, which none of the 4 Land Cruiser 80's I've owned have ever worked. Tow package. Runs great, drive it long distance with no problem. I wouldn't be afraid to drive this across country. Handles rough terrain/snow amazingly. Super rare 40th Anniversary Edition. I do not have the rear seats, they were not there when I purchased the car but I did not mind so much as I wanted to build a storage unit in the back. I have researched plenty of what these cars are worth, and their increasing value - especially a late 80s series and more importantly a rare 40th Anniversary Edition. Locking differentials, and all buttons etc in great working condition. If you have any questions, please ask. Feel free to make an offer. I am willing to ship at buyer's expense. Bidders must have an eBay account in good order. |

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
Toyota SEMA cars include Tundra for Baja and wacky DUB Edition Yaris
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Toyota has released the first images of its brigade of concepts for the 2014 SEMA Show, introducing a trio of TRD-fettled off-roaders, a pair of DUB-inspired models, a race-ready pickup and a Sienna minivan with 48 inches worth of subwoofers.
Four of the vehicles being shown by Toyota will take part in the grueling Baja 1000 off-road race. The star of that effort will be a race-prepared Tundra, which will actually be competing from November 12 to 16 in the 47th running of the desert race. It'll be supported by a trio of vehicles, which mimics Toyota's TRD Pro Series production vehicles, with the 4Runner, Tacoma and Tundra all acting as support vehicles.
Each of these vehicles has been fabricated by the off-road specialists at N-Fab and comes loaded down with communications and guidance equipment, additional lights and off-road body modifications.
Toyota builds world's first 'outdoor website' for RAV4 promo
Thu, 08 Aug 2013This whole thing started with the premise that Toyota's target RAV4 buyers are people who spend their time cycling, hiking, and generally not in front of computer screens. These people are therefore not able to benefit from the full website experience that Toyota has built for the RAV4. We should clarify that the video below is for Toyota South Africa, and maybe RAV4 buyers there really are the disgustingly outdoorsy ideal that us bacon-eaters are not living up to.
Toyota's agency partner, Hello Computer, set up a 1.8-kilometer track at a cycle park that replicated sections of the automaker's website with real physical displays and interactive feedback. Riders were asked to leave their mouses and hit the trail on a mountain bike to experience the RAV4 Outdoor Website and learn about the vehicle.
That seems like a lot of effort for something that's available on the smartphones of these hyper-active people who aren't in front of computers, but hooray for creatively conquering a problem that didn't exist. Hey, let's not be complete wet blankets - maybe some of the cyclists that ran the Toyota gauntlet got a RAV4 for their to- and fro-ing after the experience. Check out the video of the outdoor website below.
