FOR SALE 1982 FJ43 NO RESERVE .....

Great running truck, it is the very basic model but a FJ60 power steering was added to make it easy to drive it daily.

Frame is very solid and the body has no rust whatsoever, This truck was repainted and floors were changed before I bought it. there is no bondo and there is no rust in the body.

The tires are still good and everything on the truck works, lights, wipers, and the dash. I has a rare split 16” wheels. The soft top is in good condition with no rips or leaks. Front seats has no rips and they are the bench type, the jump seats on the back are good condition as well and seats 4 people comfortable.

This will be a perfect daily for someone that is not in a rush to get somewhere. The truck has a nice stance and it is higher that FJ40 but looks much better because of the longer base.

All the mechanics are in running order included the 4X4 and by the way, they are the same as any FJ40’s. Engine compression is good and no oil or water leaks

This is an honest truck ready to be driven or a perfect restoration project. This is not a museum piece but a really good example or a rare truck in America. There is a crack on the dash (driver side)

" the truck was entered on EBay as 1980 is it will not accept short VIN# after 1982."

This truck is registered in Vancouver BC. It is sold “as is” no warranty. NO RESERVE

I require $500 non-refundable deposit in 24 hrs of ending auction. Please pick up between 8 days or advise any delays (I can hold the truck for longer period buy full payment is expected). This car is parked under heated garage. Inspections are welcome.

180,000 new vehicles are sitting, derailed by lack of transport trains

Wed, 21 May 2014

If you're planning on buying a new car in the next month or so, you might want to pick from what's on the lot, because there could be a long wait for new vehicles from the factory. Locomotives continue to be in short supply in North America, and that's causing major delays for automakers trying to move assembled cars.
According to The Detroit News, there are about 180,000 new vehicles waiting to be transported by rail in North America at the moment. In a normal year, it would be about 69,000. The complications have been industry-wide. Toyota, General Motors, Honda and Ford all reported experiencing some delays, and Chrysler recently had hundreds of minivans sitting on the Detroit waterfront waiting to be shipped out.
The problem is twofold for automakers. First, the fracking boom in the Bakken oil field in the Plains and Canada is monopolizing many locomotives. Second, the long, harsh winter is still causing major delays in freight train travel. The bad weather forced trains to slow down and carry less weight, which caused a backup of goods to transport. The auto companies resorted to moving some vehicles by truck, which was a less efficient but necessary option.

Who sold the most small/midsize pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates that, too

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

PickupTrucks.com has taken another look at the sales of its favorite vehicle bodystyle as part of an ongoing series. According to registration data from R.L. Polk, the Toyota Tacoma easily took the crown as America's best-selling mid-sized pickup, with 133,477 units rolling into new homes in 2012. For comparison, the second-place Nissan Frontier only saw 50,566 registrations.
We feel compelled to point out that before Ford pulled the plug on its ancient Ranger, the company was moving some 75,000 units per year. That number had shriveled to 15,662 by 2012, which was still enough to surpass the Honda Ridgeline. Interestingly enough, one person brought home a brand-new Hummer H3T as well. But mid-sized trucks represent only a fraction of total pickup sales. Dealers sold a total of 241,471 midsizers last year compared to 988,326 half-tons.
That segment was dominated by General Motors with 533,814 sales followed by Ford at 478,204. Ram Trucks trailed behind in third with 241,204 units with Toyota close behind at 229,769. Nissan, meanwhile, remains a distant fifth. Head over to PickupTrucks.com for a closer look at the breakdown in each segment.

Toyota GT86 engineer Tada recounts how sports car came to be

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"
