I have a 1981 BJ41 Right Hand Drive Land Cruiser, Japanese market only that I brought to the states when I retired from the military. It had 19,000 km documented when I bought it, I installed a 13bt Turbo diesel, It has 30,000km on it now, That is 18,641 miles. The Japanese inspection paperwork shows no miles on it from 1993 to when I bought it in 2010.
But it has had the rear fenders patched at some point in its life.( I am the 3rd Owner), some small cancer has developed on the body above the bumper, and on the front of the hood.
The top, sides, and all four doors are fiberglass, so no rust there. The Japanese market is the only place the Black 202 Toyota paint code came factory on a 40 series.
The power steering sector has been Upgraded to a Prado Land Cruiser Power steering sector Mounted to the frame and the center link removed.

The drivers and passenger seats are from a JDM Mazda Miata ( has speakers in the head rest) The seam has separated on the Back of the drivers seat
This is not a restored Land Cruiser, There is rust on the body,
This is a built Land Cruiser. If Toyota remade the 40 series they would spec it like this.
I get 22mpg to 28 mpg depending on how I drive it. No leaks, Uses no fluids. Virtually new.
The Rims are JDM "ride"16.5 two piece magnesium, never seen any like them in the states, The spare matches. The tires are Hummer 37" They are fair to good
To get a Toyota Turbo diesel installed in a Gas 40 series it would cost you almost what I'm asking for the whole vehicle. Good luck
Shipping is the buyers responsibility, but I might be able to deliver for .75 cents a mile. Sold as is, no warranty, ask questions .I have described it to the best bof my ability at this time ,I will add more Information if I think of anything

Owner reflects on his $20.91 Toyota unintended acceleration settlement check
Sat, Nov 29 2014Where General Motors and Takata have grabbed many auto safety-related headlines this year with their problems with ignition switches and airbag inflators, a few years ago, a similar sort of scrutiny fell on Toyota for unintended acceleration. After multiple settlements with various parties totaling billions of dollars, the issues seem largely behind the Japanese automaker now. Owners are actually starting to receive their money, but it isn't exactly breaking the bank. Payouts are expected to be between $37 and $125 per person. Computer science student Jonathan Sourbeer received a check for just $20.91, and he considers what that money actually means in an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal. Sourbeer's biggest gripe is that the roughly 85 lawyers in the case are receiving $227 million in attorneys' fees and expenses, while the 25 primary plaintiffs and class representatives receive a total of just $395,270. According to the Frequently Asked Questions about the settlement, Toyota set up a $250 million fund to pay affected owners, as well. The money isn't for injuries or damages but for alleged economic loss to the vehicles. However, Sourbeer says he feels no personal suffering and still has the same car. In addition to the settlement, the automaker obviously has its own legal fees to deal with, as well. Sourbeer wonders how this is all going to affect Toyotas in the future. Obviously, the money has to come from somewhere, and it likely gets amortized over the company's vehicles in the coming years to add a few dollars to each one. That puts the problem back onto customers. Anyone involved in a class-action suit has likely seen this happen first hand. The lawyers take a large chunk of the money, and the rest is distributed in tiny morsels to those actually affected. Unfortunately, Sourbeer offers no solutions beyond saying the system needs to change.
2014 Toyota Prius crash test rating drops to four stars
Thu, Jan 16 2014If nothing has changed, then how come something changed? That's the question behind the recent drop from five to four stars in the crash test rating for the Toyota Prius. As you can see on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, the 2014 Prius gets four stars overall while the 2013 got five. The two cars are basically identical, so what gives? Toyota says it is not sure why NHTSA rated the Prius a four this time. Starting with the 2011 model year, NHTSA updated its rating system and says in a FAQ that vehicles that had four- or five-star ratings could get lower ratings "even if no changes have been made to the vehicle." Green Car Reports says that the issue is a new set of frontal barrier tests that were conducted on the 2014 Prius last month and that resulted in the first new bits of crash test data for the car in years. The 2012 and 2013 Prius models were rated based on tests done in February 2011 on a 2011 Prius. All of these are variants of the third-generation model. The next-gen Prius is expected in 2015. Jana Hartline, environmental communication manager at Toyota Motor Sales, USA, told AutoblogGreen that the company doesn't quite know what's going on with the drop in crash test scores: There have been no changes in the test standards and no changes in the car, other than minor reinforcement for small overlap crash test which we believe did not compromise integrity. We are not sure why it rated a 4 this time. We are looking at the test results and we are confident the new generation will move back to 5 stars. 2014 Prius still has a five-star rating for the side crash test and four in the rollover test.
