You are bidding on a 1974 Toyota Landcruiser that was rebuilt. The body is all steel and replaced from the front cowl back with a new 3/4 body from Iron Pig Offroad. The only non-steel body items are the rear doors (Specter Off Road) and the transmission hump which are fiberglass. The wiring is complete new and uses weather tight connection at all points. The alternator is a 63A single wire from Summit. All underbody was finished with POR15 products and the interior is coated with spray urethane black bed liner. The engine is a rebuilt Chevy 350, bored 0.040 over, low compression pistons, remanufactured large valve heads, with a small Holley Truck avenger carb. The transmission, transfer case, rear differential, and front axles were complete rebuild. The vehicle has all new brakes, brake lines, cylinders, master cylinder, springs, seals, etc. All the parts used were genuine Toyota replacement parts except for the oversize V8 aluminum radiator package from Man-a-Fre, the soft top from Best Top, and a custom exhaust that runs above the skid plate. The cruiser comes with fabric half-doors and a set of full fabric doors. The engine to transmission adapter is from Marks in Australia which allows the transmission holes and shifters to stay in the stock Toyota positions. If you are looking for a show room finish on the paint, you'll need to do that yourself. I painted this myself and the paint has a few runs and finish issues. The good news is that body filler was only used in a few places (front fender attachments) that were first cut out and patched correctly with sheet metal. At the risk of repeating some items, I've listed below some of the items used in the rebuild:
- Chevy 350 (rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, HV oil pump, hi-torque cam, Chevy Black powder dress kit, Truck Avenger Carb, Ram Horn manifolds, HEI ignition, seals, Aluminum Radiator, etc.)
- Frame was degreased, blasted, and POR15 chassis black applied
- Front end rebuilt (tie rod ends, axle seals, trunion bearings, Pro Comp steering dampener, brakes, wheel cylinders, ss braided hoses, lock out hubs, etc.)
- Rear Axle rebuilt ( seals, bearings, brakes, wheel cylinders, Pro Comp shock all around, etc.)
- VDO gages (Electric speedo, oil, water temp, battery voltage)
- Wiring completely redone with ATC fuse box located in the glove box.
- New seat foam and covers from Specter Off road
- Pintle hook on rear bumper
- Winch ready front bumper
- Full Custom Roll Cage
A hardtop, rear door w/locking struts( and most new parts to repair), and repairable steel doors (no parts for these) will be included for sales price exceeding $10K. Otherwise they will be available for $500 to the bid winner if they are wanted. This vehicle is being offered as is where is. The Cruiser is offered for pick up or if you want to arrange for shipping from Zip Code 16856. There is no shipping included. The title is clear and the buyer is responsible for all title transfer fees and taxes as applicable.
I've include some pictures. If you have questions or need a specific picture, let me know and I'll respond. Good luck and happy bidding.

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection
Fri, Dec 29 2023Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage. One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.
eBay Find of the Day: Back To The Future Marty McFly 1985 Toyota SR5 pickup tribute
Mon, 05 Aug 2013With DeLorean time machine replicas thick on the ground, it was only a matter of time before someone started recreating the other vehicles in the McFly garage. At the end of the first Back to the Future movie, Marty returns to 1985 to find his sweet-looking Toyota SR5 truck all waxed and ready for his date. That truck always did look great in the movie, and now's your chance to own this close facsimile.
This Back to the Future replica Toyota is on eBay with a price of $14,500, which the seller claims is half of what's been invested. Perhaps that's true, but it's still a nearly 30-year-old truck that's covered 280,000 miles. The seller does say the 22RE engine has been recently rebuilt, along with the rest of the drivetrain, and there's new paint, too. The attention to detail is admirable, and if you've always admired Marty's '80s-chic 4x4, now's your chance to own it.
