1973 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40 Fresh Frame On Restoration.
Up for auction is a 1973 Toyota Land Cruiser. This freshly restored vehicle comes out of the stable of Classic 4x4 Co in Las Cruces NM, who specializes in FJ-40's. This FJ-40 has spent it's entire life of the Beautiful Southwest, where the climate is hot and dry. The Drive train starts with the original 6 cylinder engine, that runs like a top. It has a 3 speed transmission that goes through all the gears with no issues. The exterior has been stripped down to bare metal, where there lie a completely rust free body. The body was then painted back to its original color. The interior has been completely redone, and is in the condition it was when it rolled of the show room floor,it still has the original Am-Fm radio, and rear heater. The Suspension has a 2.5 inch Pro Comp lift, which includes, Shocks and Springs. The Tires are Brand new Mud Terrains, and complete that perfect stance, that is not to big. These Toyota Land Cruiser's are getting hard to find, and are highly collectable, especially in this condition. I would not hesitate to drive this thing Cross Country,as there really are no mechanical issues to speak of. Please Bid with confidence, as this truly is a very well preserved FJ-40. There will be a $1000.00 deposit due within 24 hours of Auction end, and the remaining balance due within 3 days, Bank to Bank transfer only. These terms and conditions are non negotiable, so please understand them before bidding. I have a perfect feedback history and expect the same of the buyer. I will answer any and all questions in a timely manor and will make myself available to the shipping co. of your choice at buyers expense. Thank you and Happy Bidding!!!!

This Irishman really likes the Toyota GT86
Sun, 10 Feb 2013Okay, okay - by this point in time just liking the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, what have you) doesn't make you special. Even if you're a sort of funny sounding, funny looking Irishman, who probably isn't the most seasoned car reviewer ever, digging the GT86 is not news.
However, if, when you choose to publish your ten-minute-long review, you include exclamatory phrases about your own pubic hair, Ozzy Osborne's drug habit and "gentleman vegetable stuff," well sir, then you'll have our attention.
Don't give up on this video, available down below, after the first couple of minutes, we implore you. The silver-tongued Irishman doesn't really get warmed up until four minutes in, or so. Believe us, it's worth the wait.
FIA introduces 'Hypercar Concept' for World Endurance Championship
Sun, Jun 10 2018One of the most common jabs at hypercars is the question, "Where can you drive them to their potential?" Imagine the answer being: to the checkered flag in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. We're not there yet, but the FIA World Motor Sport Council took a step closer to the possibility during its second annual meeting in Manila, the Philippines. One of three initiatives the WSMC announced for the 2020 World Endurance Championship was "Freedom of design for brands based on a 'Hypercar' concept." This "Hypercar concept" would replace LMP1 as the premier class in the WEC. The dream, of course, would be seeing racing versions of the AMG Project One, Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro, Bugatti Chiron, Koenigsegg Regera, McLaren Senna GTR, Pagani Huara BC, and the rest of the gang trading paint and carbon fiber through Dunlop in a heinously expensive version of "Buy on Sunday, sell on Monday." The reality is that we don't have all the details yet on the set of regulations called "GTP," but the FIA wants race cars more closely tied to road cars, albeit with the performance level of today's LMP1 cars. Exterior design freedom would shelter internals designed to reduce costs, the FIA planning to mandate less complex hybrid systems and allow the purchase of spec systems. One of the FIA's primary goals is lowering LMP1 budgets to a quarter of their present levels. Audi and Porsche budgets exceeded $200 million, while Toyota - the only factory LMP1 entry this year and next - is assumed to have a budget hovering around $100 million. Reports indicated that Aston Martin, Ferrari, Ford, McLaren, and Toyota sat in on the development of the proposed class. If the FIA can get costs down to around $25 million, that would compare running a top IndyCar team and have to be hugely appealing to the assembled carmakers. The initiative represents another cycle of the roughly once-a-decade reboot of sports car racing to counter power or cost concerns. The FIA shut down Group 5 Special Production Sports Car class in 1982 to halt worrying power hikes, and introduced Group C. In 1993, Group C came to an ignoble end over costs; manufacturers were spending $15 million on a season, back when that was real money and not one-fifth of a Ferrari 250 GTO. Then came the BPR Global GT Series that morphed into the FIA GT Championship, which would see the last not-really-a-road car take overall Le Mans victory in 1998, the Porsche 911 GT1. That era would be most aligned with a future hypercar class.
Leaked Toyota FT-86 Open concept images preview droptop Scion FR-S [w/video]
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Here it is, folks - the highly anticipated Toyota FT-86 Open concept, a precursor to what could become a road-going Scion FR-S convertible. A full smattering of images and video have leaked onto the internet, and thanks to the folks at FT86Club.com, we can now see the new hotness that Toyota will be unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next week.
These images confirm details that were first seen in spy shots captured a couple of weeks ago - namely, the larger wheel/tire package and the inclusion of the Toyobaru coupe's decidedly useless rear seats. These new photos, however, show a two-tone leather interior with goodies such as an iPod/iPhone mount on the dashboard. The concept car is also fitted with the coupe's six-speed automatic transmission (boo!) and FT86Club.com reports that the folding soft top is operated electronically.
We'll have the full details live from Geneva in just a few days. For now, click through our attached image gallery to see lots of pretty pictures of the topless wonder, and scroll down for a video to see the concept in motion.
