Selling my one of my most reliable friends over the past 35 years!I just don't use this old beast the way it was meant to be used anymore. This truck has been with me since new, though not much original remains what with all the upgrades & changes made over the years. Many up grades have been made over the years to make her more offroad capable.A complete frame off was done approx. 8 years ago when frame rotted out. A mint bj42 frame was sourced & was acid dipped then galvanized. Will last forever!A complete OME suspension was added. It now has a turbo charged 3b & 5 speed out of an 87 bj60.Engine features aux.oil cooler & 4 core rad.Engine has 350,000 km but these things run forever. The transfercase was upgraded with a set of crawler gears from Mark's 4wd acc. out of Australia.3.08 low range-1.08 hi range.Tranny & tc both shift smooth & no strange noises.Clutch is only couple of years old.Brakes & steering are good,no excessive wear.Truck features a factory PTO winch up front & warn planetary winch installed in the rear.Front & rear axles feature ARB air lockers with compressor under hood.Rear axle is a full foater from a late model fj45 1Ton.Tires are 255-R85-16 on 7.5x 16 rims, approx. 50% tread.Under truck is a trick custom skid plate made from 3/16"plate.This thing is more like a belly pan on a bulldozer, your not damaging anything under this truck,if you can't drive over a boulder, drag it with the winch!!!Also has nice custom rear bumper & receiver hitch, nicest looking setup I've seen on the back end of an old cruiser. The body tub is a 1 pce Aqualu aluminum tub complete with aluminum windshield frame, tailgate, running boards &custom aluminum liftgate that replace barn style door setup.(nicer & simpler for running with top removed as pics show). The front end sheetmetal & front doors are factory Toyota as are hardtop side panels. One interesting feature is that I removed front turn signals from fenders & installed them in the grill. This is how the very first fj's from the 1950's were set up.Personally I think it's a way cleaner look & no lights to break in the bush. All have very very minor surface rust if any rust at all.As pics show, truck features a custom made trunk lid that can be installed when top is removed. It is lockable & watertite.looks great with bikini top & soft half doors.Always get lots of comments on this setup, never seen one like it before. Also has a lockable aluminum center console.Seats are out of a Toyota 4runner,look just like they were original but way more comfy.Drivers seat small tear on outer edge from sliding in & out of truck. This truck was built to be a daily driver & very capable offroad at the same time. She's no trailer queen that's for sure.Paint job is a little faded & rough around the edges but hey ,it adds character! Now for the bad.The exhaust system is on it's last breath, turbo down pipe is still good & muffler is stainless & appears still good.Engine has several oil leaks, nothing major but messy.Rear main & front timing cover seal & lifter cover I think.Front axle swivels weeping oil, again nothing major but messy.I think I've covered all major points. There is so much invested in this truck but it is time to let her go.Winning bidder to deposit  $1000.USD to my paypal within 24hrs.,the remainder by direct deposit to my bank acc.  within 7 days.If you are not picking up truck yourself,I will try & assist with shipping in any way I can.

MotorWeek proves '90s were awesome with Supra, Stealth, RX-7, Corvette, 968, 300ZX comparo

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Oh, the heady days of 1993, back when the Clinton Presidency was just getting underway, and it seemed like every hot new rock band was coming out of Seattle. Sports cars in the US had finally shaken off the shackles that slowed them during the '70s and '80s, and you could buy any number of legitimately quick vehicles again. MotorWeek recently went digging into its archives to find this six-model test from 1993 showing off some of the best semi-affordable performance coupes that money could buy at the time, and it's priceless.
Featuring the 1994 model year Toyota Supra in twin-turbo guise and MY 1993 versions of the Porsche 968, Nissan 300ZX TT, Mazda RX-7, Dodge Stealth R/T Turbo and Chevrolet Corvette LT-1, MotorWeek definitely covered all of the bases. One thing that might surprise younger readers is these cars' performance. The video only provides 0-60 acceleration times, but several of these vehicles would still be considered pretty potent today - over 20 years since going on sale. The Supra is especially impressive, hitting 60 miles per hour in just 5 seconds. Even today, that's nothing to sneeze at.
Given their performance potential and still-attractive looks, it's amazing that some of these coupes are old enough to drink now. The progress of interior design and safety equipment in the intervening years is pretty shocking, though. In most of these models, having two airbags is touted as a big deal. Scroll down to watch a Throwback Thursday blast from the past about some of the '90s best sports cars.

Toyota renews Supra trademark, we renew frothing at the mouth

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

Enthusiasts have been begging for a new Supra practically since Toyota stopped selling its fourth generation in the US way back in 1998. We've been hearing rumors about a successor for years, but the Toyota FT-1 Concept from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show is the first tangible sign from the automaker that a new generation may be on the table. To temp us even more, the Japanese company reportedly filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office last week to renew its 2010 trademark for the name "Supra."
Granted, these kinds of trademark updates aren't uncommon, as automakers don't want to lose their rights to nameplates (even if they have no immediate plans to use them). However, Toyota briefly abandoned its rights to the Supra name entirely. According to The Motor Report, the original trademark was continually renewed until 2006, but the Japanese automaker let it lapse in the US until applying for it again in 2010.
The FT-1 Concept in Detroit was created at Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California and carries cues from the 2000GT, Celica and Supra in an ultra-curvy body. Officials did not disclose anything about its powertrain. Toyota is also co-developing a future sports car platform with BMW that will underpin models from both companies, but few other details are konwn, and it isn't yet clear that the joint venture has anything to do with a future Supra. Hope springs eternal.
