2005 Toyota Corolla Xrs Sedan 4-door 1.8l on 2040-cars
Meridian, Mississippi, United States
Up for sale is my 2005 Toyota Corolla XRS. The XRS is Toyota's souped up version of the Corolla. With the same Yamaha 2ZZ-GE used in the Lotus Elise and a tight 6-speed manual transmission, this car is athletic and zippy. The suspension is lowered and tightened at the factory, giving her sure and nimble footing. Check it out on Google or Wikipedia! The XRS is superbly well built and very popular. I have taken excellent care of this car. All factory recommended maintenance has been performed at proper intervals. Oil changes have been performed every 5000 miles with Mobil-1 synthetic. She has been hand washed, hand waxed, and garage kept her entire life. She sports several upgrades, including - Pin-striping and wheel well accents - Professional tint job on back windows and sunroof - Motegi lightweight alloy wheels - Bridgestone Potenza tires - Injen cold air intake - Magnaflow exhaust - TWM short shifter with weighted shift knob - Sony XPLOD radio head unit - Bazooka sub-woofer and amplifier Nothing has been done to the engine and drive train, excluding routine maintenance such as fluid changes. She is extremely reliable, and has never given me trouble or left me stranded. - The engine runs strong and starts every time in all weather conditions. It idles smoothly and pulls cleanly through the rev range. - The transmission shifts smoothly and all gears and synchros engage without trouble. The short shifter gives each gear a very exact and precise feel. - The clutch and flywheel have less than 40000 miles and work perfectly; smooth engagement with no grinding or slipping. - The XRS features four-wheel ABS brakes, which work extremely well. They grab hard and track straight. - The steering tracks true and has recently had the alignment and balance checked in January when the new tires were installed. - The A/C was recharged last summer and blows ice cold. So much so that the top two settings are really only needed after a long day in a hot parking lot. - All lights and indicators are good, including high beams, fog lights, and interior lights. - All electronics function good as new. Cruise control works properly, all power windows track properly from top to bottom, all power locks work correctly, wireless key fob locks and unlocks every time. - Fuel economy is very good. I routinely get 28 MPG on my split city / highway commute. Roadtrips normally show better than 32 MPG. - The interior is in great condition. Floor mats and carpet are new-car clean. Head liner is un-torn / un-stained. Seats and upholstery are mostly clean with some small discolorations and no rips or tears. - The exterior is in fantastic condition. No rust, dents, or body damage. Paint is clean and even. She looks like a much younger car! Also included are user manual, wheel lock-nut tool, stock shifter and knob, stock intake, and stock radio. For a list of required maintenance, click here To see her current maintenance status, click here Despite her excellent condition, she is still a used car and sports a few blemishes. There are some scratches on the right running board, a couple door dings from other cars, two bird poop spots on the hood, and various small nicks on the front of the hood. There are also some discolorations on the rear seat upholstery and the interior driver door handle is peeling on the back side. She also took a love tap to the bumper a year or two back while I was stationed in Pensacola. Fortunately, no serious or structural damage was done, and the damage was replaced with OEM Toyota parts by a certified professional body shop. It was a service in disguise, as the old bumper was pretty scratched up from whatever the previous owner liked to drag in and out of his trunk. This car has a clean history and will show up well above average on any vin history check. Check out the free one eBay provides at the top of this description. This is a truly excellent car with no parallel. She looks great, runs great, drives great, handles great, and has been a blast to own. Sadly, I am changing duty stations with the Navy and it is time for me to part ways. I'm going to miss her! This car has been a reliable friend for some of the best years of my life; I hope she can go on to serve you just as well! Buyer owes $500 deposit immediately upon winning auction. Full amount due within one week. Buyer is responsible for shipping. You've got questions, I've got answers! Toyota FT-1 Concept presents a future we want to live in [w/videos]
Mon, 13 Jan 2014Toyota has brought its A game to the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, showing off the striking FT-1 Concept. Short for "Future Toyota," the FT-1 is, we're imagining, the supposed Supra Concept we reported on early in December.
Penned by the Calty Design Research team, the FT-1 draws inspirations from the FT-HS and the Lexus LF-LC concepts from 2007 and 2012, respectively. We certainly see a bit of Lexus LF-A in the design, while there's more than a hint of Formula One in the FT-1's pointed nose.
"Our team was heavily influenced by Toyota's sports car past, especially Celica and Supra, and we sought to capture some of that history. It is an aggressive, track-focused sports car concept with a presence that has been amplified for shock and awe," said Alex Shen, Calty's Studio Chief Designer.
Toyota updates 86 in Japan with this weird special edition
Wed, Feb 11 2015In their constant drive for perfection, Japanese automakers Toyota and Subaru have both announced some minor updates for their jointly produced sports car specifically for their domestic market. Both the Toyota 86 (known in these parts as the Scion FR-S) and the Subaru BRZ are getting a revised version of the electric power steering system they were designed with in the first place as well as a reworked suspension. The more intriguing news, though, is the strange restyling Toyota is offering on the 86 Style Cb edition. Ditching the aggressively angular front end of the existing model, this special edition gets rounded headlamps and an extended nose to give it a much less severe face. The Toyota 86 Style Cb is also being offered with an optional two-tone paint scheme and gets unique LED turning indicator strips, a special badge on the bulbous snout and revised interior trim. We'll chalk it up to a matter of personal taste, but as far as JDM specials go, this special edition isn't one over which we'll be terribly disappointed if it never makes it to US showrooms. We'll be sure to keep you posted if and when any of the mechanical updates make the trip across the Pacific, though. Related Video:
Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks
Thu, Jan 22 2015Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.
