Hi welcome to my auction.  Please read the entire listing and ask any questions before you bid.

This is my 1999 Toyota Corolla CE.  I have had it for the last 5 years.  It has been completely reliable and the biggest expense I have had is tires.  This being said, I have bought another car.  Miles are 133,xxx and may have a few more with test drives.

Te vehicle runs great, gets around 30 mpg, has a power moonroof with full open, titl and sun shade and it has an auto close feature.  It has auto trans, cold ac and hot heat!  It also has power windows, lock, cruise, auto on/off driving lights, cd and rear de-frost.  Te engine runs great and the trans is smooth like it should be, no problem going highway speeds.  It also has alloy wheels with wheel locks, but the rims are worn.  Also, as you can see their is an additional 2 tires that come with the purchase, they are winter tires with about 40-50 percent tread left.

As you would expect, since it is 14 years old it is not perfect.  It has some peeling clear coat on the roof and drivers side rear door.  There are two small rust bubbles on the roof by the windshield, has not broke through the paint.  There is a larger rust spot by the drivers side rear wheel well about 5 or 6 inches in size.

Passenger front door does not open.  The hood has lots of chips and wear on it, right front bumper broke and taped, does not affect driving.  Suspension feels a bit loose compared to a newer one, still drives fine, but I wanted to mention it.  Could use some updating.  The car does use oil, has been since I got it 5 years ago.  This is common on the older Corolla's.  Has a rebuilt title from previous owner, again, I have not had any problems.  Title is in hand.  Cassette player does not work.

Car was undercoated when new and still looks nearly perfect underneath!

Again, this car is not perfect, but would be a great work car and has not let me down.  Battery, drive belt and brakes are newer.  Tires are matching set with rear almost new and front at about 40-50 percent.  Just did oil change for the new owner.

Car is for sale locally, so I can end the auction at any time.  Please ask any questions if you have concerns and check my feedback.  I have tried to list everything I know, should be a great car for someone, but as-is.  $500 deposit due at end of auction through paypal, the balance due in one week.  Good luck!

Toyota Camry incentives and fleet sales cranked to keep sales crown, insiders worried

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

We've been watching for some time now as Toyota has piled more incentives on the hood of its Camry sedan, and Automotive News reports that the we're not the only ones with raised eyebrows. The current Camry hasn't even been on the market for two years, but the family sedan segment is more hotly contested than it has been in years. It's that high level of competition that has led the automaker to uncharacteristically add more money on the hood in order to assure it maintains its long-held title of America's Best-Selling Car, a mantle it has owned for a dozen years. It's ramping up fleet sales, too.
According to the analysts at TrueCar, Toyota has bumped incentives per unit every month this year, now totaling some $2,750 as of May, a 38-percent hike over this time last year. That's more spiff money than the segment's other best sellers, the Nissan Altima ($2,400), Ford Fusion ($2,300) and Honda Accord ($1,400), all of whom have actually decreased their incentive spend by 20- to 40-percent over the same period.
The ramp up in incentive spending and fleet sales has analysts concerned that Toyota will tarnish the Camry's historically sterling resale value. ALG pegs the 2013 Camry's current 36-month residual value at 54.4 percent, well ahead of the segment average's 50.9 percent (but shy of the Accord's 55.6 percent). However, analysts are concerned that as the current generation ages, their resale values will eventually plummet if incentives continue to increase as Toyota looks to keep the Camry's best-selling car crown going forward.

Tesla expects another higher-volume deal with Toyota in next few years

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

Four months have passed since Toyota ended its relationship with Tesla Motors, in which the electric-vehicle specialist supplied full lithium-ion battery packs to the Japanese behemoth for its RAV4 EV rollout, of which 2,500 vehicles will be completed. Now, Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk has been heard suggesting that a future collaboration is likely within the next two to three years, and that it will probably be much larger than the last one.
Both Tesla and Toyota have sung each other's praises in the not-too-distant past, Toyota telling Autoblog back in May, "We have a good relationship with Tesla and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects." According to Automotive News, Musk said of the Japanese giant, "We love working with Toyota... We have a huge amount of respect for them as a company and certainly much to learn."
Interestingly, though, the two automakers have rather divergent strategies for eco-friendly automobiles. Toyota, as you're surely aware, is the clear-cut leader in hybrids and has thrown its massive support in the direction of hydrogen fuel cells, while Tesla has invested heavily in battery-electric technology and high-speed charging stations.

Toyota delves into the history of its Land Cruiser

Fri, 06 Sep 2013

One of the longest-produced, most widely distributed vehicles in all of automotive history is also one of its most rugged: the Toyota Land Cruiser. With 60 years of continuous production, 14 different model lines and thousands of variations of the Jeep-like sports utility vehicle, the Land Cruiser became a success worldwide and developed a cult following among enthusiasts here in the US.
We'll be the first to admit that tracing the vehicle's lineage from its humble beginnings as a prototype for Japan's National Police Reserve in 1951 to what it is today isn't an easy task, especially when one considers that the types of Land Cruisers produced traditionally have varied from market to market. For example, the Land Cruiser sold in the US is very different from the US-only 40 series Land Cruiser-inspired FJ Cruiser, which is itself different from the Land Cruiser Prado sold in other world markets.
To cover the Land Cruiser's sixty-plus year history from start to present, someone over at Toyota UK was thoughtful enough to devote a plus-size blog post to it. It's worth a read if you have a spare 10 or 15 minutes - and even if you don't, you can check out our historical gallery above. Enjoy!
