Contact me with your best offer and I just might end the auction early for you!
This Corolla is in excellent condition
for it’s age and has only 124,000 documented original miles! These Corolla’s
are getting VERY hard to find . . . especially in this well-kept condition. Private
party sale . . .NO TAX! Clean, clear AZ title in hand. Vehicle is being sold
locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. There
are many details to share about this unique example of Toyota history so let’s
get to it shall we? EXTERIOR The paint is all original and is VERY
glossy. There are some wear spots from wax jobs over the last 40 years that
have taken their toll and worn through the paint on the usual spots (Top of
windshield, top of the front fenders, and various spots on the roof). All the
body panels are original. There is some rust on the lower front fenders behind the front wheels which
is common for these cars. There is patch work you can see in the pics. (see pics). I do not find any rust anywhere else.
There is a silver dollar size paint blemish on the driver fender (see pics).
There are misc. rock chips from normal road debris but, nothing excessive or
out of the ordinary for a vehicle it’s age. INTERIOR The interior is EXCEPTIONALLY clean and
all original. The seats are in great shape except for the driver’s seat (see
pics). All interior controls work great . . .even the vintage radio. Heater
works great as well. All lights, buttons and switches are operating properly.
All window glass is intact and in great condition. Headliner is perfect! The
dash does have one crack in the center which is common. The rear deck lid is
perfect. No strange smells . . .never smoked in. ENGINE,TRANS,SUSPENSION AND BRAKES The engine is legendary 2TC 1.6
Liter. It’s starts the first time, every time and settles into a smooth idle. .
. just as it should. No smoking, strange noises or issues. The transmission is
the Toyota T40 4 Speed manual and shifts flawlessly. Suspension is all stock
and still rides very smooth with no excessive bounce or roll. The brakes are
firm with great pedal feel. No pulling, vibration or issues. This Corolla
tracks straight and true just like it did in 1974! The wheels are 13” slotted
alloy mags which are period correct. I also have the original steel wheels with
hub caps that will come with the vehicle. The tires are in great shape and have
75% tread on all four corners. I would not hesitate to drive this Corolla
across the country.
THE BEST BIDDING STRATEGY
To use EBAY'S Proxy bid system simply do your research, bid the
absolute maximum that you are willing to pay for the item the first time you
bid and let the proxy server do the rest of the work for YOU. The computer will
do all your bidding for you, but it won't just hop right on to the max amount.
IT will only outbid the previous bidder by one bid increment {so if you enter
$4000 and the item is at $2000 and the previous bidder has a max bid of say
$2500 the item will only go up to $2550 and if you are bid against the computer
bids on your behalf up to the amount you entered as your max bid also if you
happen to want to bid again you can do so say $4500 but bid amount will not
increase just the computer will bid higher for you.} TERMS, CONDITIONS,

questions answered, etc. , pleases email or call me at 602-672-0971 and ask me

An early gas-electric hybrid was developed by...Exxon?
Tue, Oct 25 2016We're not sure which aspect of Exxon's 1970s-era efforts to develop advanced and electrified powertrains is the most ironic. There's Exxon, that of the Valdez oil spill infamy, being on the leading edge of hybrids and electric vehicles. There's a boat-like Chrysler Cordova getting 27 miles per gallon. And there's the central role a Volkswagen diesel engine plays in that hybrid development. It's all outlined in an article (linked above) by Inside Climate News, and it's an amusing read. Flush with cash and fearing what it thought was peak oil production in the 1970s, Exxon funded a host of new ventures divisions geared to find alternatives to gas-powered powertrains. In the early 1970s, Exxon lured chemist M. Stanley Whittingham to develop what would become a prototype of a lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Then, in the late 1970s, Exxon pioneered the concept of using an alternating-current (AC) motor as part of a gas-electric hybrid vehicle. The company retrofitted a Chrysler Cordova (yes, that's the model Ricardo Montalban used to hawk) with a powertrain that combined 10 Sears Die-Hard car batteries, an alternating current synthesizer (ACS), a 100-horsepower AC motor, and, yes, a four-cylinder 50-horsepower Volkswagen diesel engine. The result was a rather large two-door sedan that got an impressive 27 mpg. And while US automakers didn't see the potential in the early concept, in 1980 Exxon and Toyota began collaborating on a project that would involve retrofitting a Toyota Cressida with a hybrid engine. That car was completed in 1981, and may have been one of the seeds that eventually helped sprout the concept of the Toyota Prius. Soon after rebuilding the Cressida, Exxon would get out of the advanced-powertrain-development business, as oil prices began to fall in the early 1980s, spurring cost-cutting measures. Cry no tears for the Exxon, though, as what's now known as ExxonMobil is the largest US oil company. Watch a Toyota Highlander ram a house, twice
Mon, 15 Apr 2013Toyota has had plenty of problems in recent years due to claims of unintended acceleration, and now here's a video that actually catches such a claim on video. The driver of this 2010-2013 Toyota Highlander claims that the crossover's accelerator got stuck causing the vehicle to slam into the house twice, and resulting in damage to the Highlander, the house and two vehicles inside the garage. While we don't know when this accident took place, the video was uploaded to YouTube back in January.
It is impossible to determine what actually happened in this video, but what we do know is that a security camera captures the Highlander slowly pulling into the driveway before it lunges forward slamming into the garage. With the tires squealing and metal crunching, the driver then shifts between reverse and drive a couple times causing even more property damage before spinning out in the street and finally being able to shift into Park. Scroll down to see the video for yourself. Whether unintended acceleration or driver error, this was undoubtedly a harrowing ordeal.
Toyota, Mazda drop Takata as Mitsubishi, Subaru weigh options
Sat, Nov 7 2015It's not a very good time to be Takata right now. Fresh on the heels of longtime partner Honda ditching them, Toyota and Mazda have both come out and said they will not use the company's airbag inflators if they continue to rely on ammonium nitrate. Bloomberg reports that Subaru and Mitsubishi are also contemplating a divorce. "The inflator using ammonium nitrate produced by Takata will not be adopted by Toyota," President Akio Toyoda said during a briefing today. "What's most important above anything else is the safety and peace of mind of customers." Mazda echoed that position, simply saying it "will not use Takata airbag inflators which contain ammonium nitrate in our new cars." When you lose three huge OEM accounts in as many days, it's certainly going to have a deleterious effect on your fortunes. In Takata's case, that's meant a staggering 39-percent drop in their share price over the last three days. Yesterday alone, the company saw a 6.2-percent fall, Bloomberg reports. As the business publication reports, though, Takata isn't going down without a fight. The company is "considering some plans to survive," including a fundraising plan that will see it potentially offer up additional shares for sale. Still, at least one analyst doesn't see whatever company survives staying involved in the airbag inflator business. "I really don't see how they're going to be able to survive as an inflator manufacturer," Valient Market Research founder Scott Upham told Bloomberg. "When your major clients publicly come out and say that they're not going to use your products anymore, it makes this very difficult to sustain your business."
