This is a neat little corolla , the interior is in very good condition , the carpets are rough in the front and not too bad in the back . The headliner is in great shape and the seats are still very good (the drivers seat has been redone and matches very well , the dash has some cracks in it and the passenger side windshield has a crack at the bottom of it . It did pass inspection and I have it with the car done on Sept.13 2013.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                The body has rust in areas , the worst is on the front fenders . The other rust I think can be sanded out without going through the metal . The motor and transmission seem to be in good shape . It had been setting for 2-3 years I got it started and drove it about 25 miles at 60 MPH and it ran fine . It has almost new tires and a new battery . Everything works on the inside , horn, radio, wipers, heater blower,  lights, (dash lights didn't come on ? Might be a fuse I haven't checked it but interior light works) .

It has a lot of paperwork with it . It has 2 of the original dealer flyers (they have been wet and the back page on both are stuck but the first couple pages are still good) . It has the Toyota Dealers List booklet , the new car Warranty page & card , the maintenance record booklet 3 booklets about radios and accessories, a imports restrictions pamphlet, A Popular Mechanics Car Care Guide for Toyota, a Toyota T & 2T engine repair manual, a World Parts Parts book and introduction letter also 2 round worldparts window stickers (I think they would still stick if used) , a Toyota 8R-C & 18R-C engine repair manual and the original service manual found in the glove box. It also has the Car invoice showing the new car price and the miles ( 9 ) at time of purchase . It also has the spare tire under the mat in the trunk in good condition and has the original tool kit in the plastic bag the came with it . It also has a Quart of the matching exterior paint I shook it and it still sounds liquid and is probably good to use,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       I have lots of pictures I can only list 24 or 28 with the listing though.      I will require a Paypal payment of $500.00 within the 1st 24 hours of purchase and balance in cash when car is picked up  or the bid will be canceled and the car re-listed. I am not trying to be mean but have had trouble in the past sorry.   I think the car would be drive-able but cannot guarantee it. Please use your discretion when deciding how to get it home.        Any questions please email to jjzrbc@yahoo.com .

Crushing 1984 Ford Ranger to make a point about clean cars

Fri, May 29 2015

Being a professional politician is often about more than just getting legislation passed, and a little showmanship can go a long way towards getting a point across. California State Senate leader Kevin de Leon recently staged just such a flashy stunt when he crushed a 1984 Ford Ranger at a rally kicking off an EV incentives pilot program. De Leon sponsored a bill last year that, in part, tried to give greater support to low-income buyers who wanted to trade in their old clunker for a zero-emissions vehicle. He hoped to improve the state's Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, which has been accused of especially helping the wealthy. After watching their Ranger get destroyed at this event, the Mendoza family that owned the truck drove away in a 2013 Toyota Prius, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. Under the pilot program, buyers in two air districts in the Golden State can take advantage of these incentives. Depending on their income and the vehicle they are purchasing, people can get a rebate of between $1,500 and $9,500, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. For now, the California Air Resources Board has set aside $5 million from the state's cap-and-trade program to fund things in these areas. Later, it will vote whether to adopt the initiative statewide. Not to be outdone, Arnold Schwarzenegger has thrown his prodigious muscle behind this program, and he put out an even more explosive video showing how to get rid of these old vehicles. You can watch a clip of the Ranger's destruction from the Sacramento Business Journal above and the Governator's response, below. This content is hosted by a third party. Toyota develops new pre-collision system with steering assist

Sun, 13 Oct 2013

A number of automakers are working on developing fully autonomous cars, but it looks like the groundwork for such technologies will likely show up first as semi-autonomous systems for both safety and convenience. Following recent announcements from Nissan and Ford in this area, Toyota has now released information for some of its advanced semi-autonomous technologies that could be offered in production cars over the next few years.
On the safety front, Toyota's new pre-collision system with pedestrian-avoidance steering assist is aimed at protecting the folks who aren't in the car. This system combines visual and audible alerts with automatic brake assist and automatic steering. If warnings don't get the driver to slow down, the brake assist kicks in if a collision is very likely, but if that is still not able to avoid the impending collision (and if there is enough room to do so), the car can automatically steer itself around the pedestrian. This sounds most beneficial for last-second dangers such as a person accidently stepping out into the road in front of a car. Toyota hopes to have this technology available to customers by 2015.
The Japanese automaker is also testing a suite of technologies called Automated Highway Driving Assist (AHDA). The key part of this is a new adaptive cruise control system that uses vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications rather than a radar-based system. This cooperative-adaptive cruise control allows vehicles to communicate their acceleration and deceleration data with other cars, which Toyota says this helps to improve fuel efficiency and traffic flow. Also a part of AHDA is the Lane Trace Control feature, which sounds like a next-gen lane keep assist. This system uses cameras, radar and a computer to keep the vehicle in a "smooth driving line" by being able to change steering angle, engine torque and braking force. Toyota says this technology could be in place by the "mid-2010s."

Toyota is world's top-selling automaker for second year in a row

Sun, 26 Jan 2014

Toyota is the top-selling automaker in the world. Again. Still. With total reported sales, including those from subsidiaries, of 9.98 million in 2013, Toyota's performance was enough to outpace rival General Motors by around 270,000 vehicles. That's a 2.4-percent gain over 2012, and it makes Toyota the top-seller two years in a row. Still, the gap between the top three is shrinking - Toyota held a 460,000-unit lead in 2012.
GM sold 9.71 million vehicles last year, a four-percent increase, coming in second place ahead of Volkswagen, which sold around 9.5 million. According to Bloomberg, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda said his company managed to win the sales race while also remaining more profitable than GM or VW.
It's going to be another interesting year in 2014 as the three behemoth automakers vie for the title of World's Largest. Toyota has predicted that it will increase sales in 2014 to 10.32 million - which would make Toyota the first automaker ever to surpass 10 million global sales - though General Motors and VW are expected to again fight for the lead in the massive Chinese market. Stay tuned.
