For sale is a 2001 Toyota Celica in Excellent Condition!

This is a ONE owner car which means you are purchasing it from the ORIGINAL owner.

Here are some details about the car:

  • It runs perfectly, and drives like glass
  • Gently Driven - all highway miles
  • No leaks, no funny noises, starts well, purrs smoothly.
  • Garage parked for almost its entire life!
  • The interior is in great shape. No rips or tears in any of the seats - trunk is clean
  • AC and Heater work without issue.
  • Radio and CD player work without issue
  • Brake Pads replaced within in the last 10,000 miles - brakes work well, no shimmy.
  • Tires are all in good shape with plenty of tread left
  • Oil and Filter have been changed about every 5,000 miles (I've used Mobile 1 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil for the last 9 years)
  • New Iridium Tip Spark Pugs within the last 10,000 miles.
  • Clean Title & Clear CA Smog check in Alameda County (a county with the tightest smog restrictions in CA)
  • New Battery

Couple small things worth sharing:

  • There are a few little parking lot paint nics on passenger side door, and passenger - minor (and normal for a car of this age)
  • There is a small paint scratch area on the right rear fender as shown in the pictures (not down to metal and no rust)
  • The cassette player works, but there are some tapes that it does not like - the Radio and CD player however like all Stations and CD's ; - ).
  • Trunk Lid Hydraulics are a little weak (they sell for ~$35 a pair on eBay - http://www.ebay.com/itm/180981826022)
Overall this is a great car in great shape that just needs a new home that will love it as much as I have.  Its reliable, clean, and fun to drive.

I am sorry to have to sell it, but just need something a little bigger right now.

If you have any questions about the car, please don't hesitate to call - happy to share any info I can.

Thanks,

Scot - 650.303.5859

Toyota to ramp up Tacoma production in Mexico by 41%

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

The Toyota Tacoma may be getting on in age, but that isn't stopping the Japanese manufacturer from ramping up production at the pickup's Baja California factory. The Mexican plant will soon be home to another 300 jobs as it increases total capacity by 41 percent. The increase is slated for April 2015.
The move is a curious one, considering the Tacoma's age and the fact that General Motors is preparing what, on the surface, appear to be two very competent challengers. The factory increase could be in preparation for the 2016 Taco (spy photos shown above), which is expected to represent a significant overhaul of the long-serving truck.
Toyota's decision to increase capacity could also be due to the factory building freeze implemented by President Akio Toyoda, according to Automotive News. Toyoda put a hold on new factories until 2016, asking executives to squeeze as much production as possible out of remaining factories before bringing any additional facilities online.

Toyota renews Supra trademark, we renew frothing at the mouth

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

Enthusiasts have been begging for a new Supra practically since Toyota stopped selling its fourth generation in the US way back in 1998. We've been hearing rumors about a successor for years, but the Toyota FT-1 Concept from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show is the first tangible sign from the automaker that a new generation may be on the table. To temp us even more, the Japanese company reportedly filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office last week to renew its 2010 trademark for the name "Supra."
Granted, these kinds of trademark updates aren't uncommon, as automakers don't want to lose their rights to nameplates (even if they have no immediate plans to use them). However, Toyota briefly abandoned its rights to the Supra name entirely. According to The Motor Report, the original trademark was continually renewed until 2006, but the Japanese automaker let it lapse in the US until applying for it again in 2010.
The FT-1 Concept in Detroit was created at Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California and carries cues from the 2000GT, Celica and Supra in an ultra-curvy body. Officials did not disclose anything about its powertrain. Toyota is also co-developing a future sports car platform with BMW that will underpin models from both companies, but few other details are konwn, and it isn't yet clear that the joint venture has anything to do with a future Supra. Hope springs eternal.

Toyota GT86 GT4 racer is ready for UK competition

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

It's about time we saw someone cook up a legitimate race version of the delectable Toyota GT86, and now it looks as if GPRM has done just that. The Buckingham-based race engineering team has built the creation you see here, complete with a turbocharged 2.0-liter, direct-injection four-cylinder boxer cooked up by Nicholson McLaren Engines. The team says the new mill delivers between 360 and 400 horsepower to the rear wheels depending on final testing, which is a sight bit more than the 197 horses the naturally aspirated stock mill offers.
The car will compete in GT4 events, including the Avon Tyres British GT Championship. Technically, the GPRM effort isn't factory backed, but the team says the effort "has the blessing of Toyota Great Britain." How could it not? You can check out the brief press release below below, and be sure to take a closer look at the machine in our gallery.
