1992 Toyota Celica Gt-s Coupe 26k Miles Nr. Mint, Orig. Owner, Lthr, Sunroof on 2040-cars
Rockville, Maryland, United States
1992 Toyota Celica GT-S with 26,000 original miles.
Original Owner Mint leather interior Paint still looks near new. There are some chips and dings that need to be fixed. I'm guessing around $1,000 to $1,500 to fix all. With that, the interior and exterior of the car would easily be in show quality condition. Runs like brand new. Engine would need detailing to be show quality, but is 100% original except the battery. See pics. Even the radiator hoses and hose clamps are original with the factory inspection marks still on them. Power sunroof, windows, locks, mirrors & seats Premium stereo Original paperwork and two original Toyota keys. Interior needs nothing. As close to mint new condition as possible for a used car. Never wrecked. Never so much as had a scratch repaired - 100% original paint. Tires replaced due to dry rot and in excellent condition. Garaged or covered for 95% of its life Brand new battery & just fully detailed Owned by older woman who was my mother and the original owner. She bought it when she was 62 and passed away a year ago at age 84. From day one, this was a second car for her that was driven weekly to bi weekly to run local errands. The car has almost certainly never seen anything above 55-60 mph. Doubtful the engine has ever revved beyond 3K rpm. Very well maintained as well with regular fluid changes. Not much else was required due to the low miles. I don't know much about these cars, but when she bought it, the salesperson told her it had every option. I have the original window sticker and will post it later. I would be surprised if there was a nicer, lower mileage 92 Celica that existed, much less one that was fully optioned and with a such a beautiful color combination. My Mom loved this car and despite many, many offers, refused to sell it. You will never find another 20 year old plus Celica like this again. I am happy to answer any questions that you have about the car. Will provide my cell phone number for serious buyer. |

Autoblog Podcast #317:
2015 Toyota Auris freshens up in Geneva, prepares for New York debut
Thu, Mar 5 2015Toyota is preparing to bring its Auris hatchback to the US market as a Scion. That makes news of this refreshed Auris, debuting at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, a fairly noteworthy piece of news. Changes are decidedly light, befitting of a refresh. Toyota has tweaked the headlights, taillights and both bumpers for 2015, featuring a wider grille up front. In the cabin, changes are similarly limited, with updated connectivity equipment, particularly the area around the infotainment system, being the biggest change. A new instrument cluster looks to have been installed, as well. Aside from those changes, though, Toyota didn't do too much to the Auris. You can check out our full gallery of live images for Geneva, and you'll want to be sure to check back here next month, for the official coverage of the Auris-based Scion iM when it debuts at the 2015 New York Auto Show. NEW TOYOTA AURIS TO JOIN NEW AVENSIS ON STAGE AT GENEVA Motor show debut for British-built Auris hatchback and wagon Toyota will reveal its new Auris at the Geneva motor show (3 – 15 March), the British-built hatchback and Touring Sports wagon versions making their debut alongside new Avensis. New Auris enjoys a refreshed design that adds presence and prestige, together with an upgraded cabin and new comfort and safety equipment features. The hybrid remains at the heart of the range, having established itself as the leading powertrain in the line-up, accounting for around half of all Auris sales in Europe in 2014. Nonetheless, the new model heralds the arrival of new and improved petrol and diesel engines, developed with a focus on efficiency and performance. The simultaneous reveal of new Auris and Avensis follows on from last year's introduction of Aygo and Yaris to complete a full rejuvenation of Toyota's core European model range. Both Auris and Avensis will continue to be built side by side at Toyota Manufacturing UK's car plant at Burnaston, near Derby. Toyota will host its Geneva motor show press conference on its stand in Hall 4 at Palexpo, at 12.15pm on 3 March. Related Video:
Toyota says no one wants a Toyota electric car
Tue, Oct 28 2014It's no secret that Toyota doesn't really have a heart in pushing pure electric vehicles. The very limited Scion iQ EV project was killed before it went very far and the RAV4 EV project with Tesla was always only meant to produce just 2,600 units, but it didn't even get that far. In short, by all public appearances, Toyota just doesn't see the value of a pure EV. "No one is coming to our door asking us to build a new electric car." – Toyota's Craig Scott Toyota's public reasoning for the lack of a Prius C EV, for example, has often been that customers don't want to compromise on range and that hydrogen is a better bet. Company executives like Bob Carter say so over and over again. A new comment by Craig Scott, Toyota's national manager of advanced technologies, says that the Japanese automaker, give a slightly different spin on things. "Toyota actually favors fuel cells over other zero-emission vehicles, like pure battery electric vehicles," he told the Los Angeles Times. "We would like to be still selling cars when there's no more gas. And no one is coming to our door asking us to build a new electric car." This, understandably, has riled up a lot of EV supporters, many of whom have called on all automakers to sell more electric vehicles. After all, if Nissan can sell around 3,000 EVs a month in the US, couldn't Toyota do something similar? Are there thousands of people coming to the door asking for the fuel cell sedan that Toyota will start selling in the US next year? That answer is unclear, but it certainly doesn't look like Toyota is backing off its H2 bet any time soon.
