Jeremy Clarkson names 10 worst cars for 2015 and 2016

Wed, Aug 24 2016

When Jeremy Clarkson, outspoken automotive journalist, ex- Top Gear host, and co-host on The Grand Tour, drives a car he doesn't like he doesn't pull his punches. As Jezza harshly puts it, cars shouldn't just be a form of transportation. These 10 cars made Clarkson's "the terrible 10" list on his column in The Sunday Times for lacking imagination and not giving the journalist "the Fizz," which his list of top 10 cars did. In typical Clarkson fashion, the list is controversial. Some of the cars on Clarkson's list have received praise from other outlets, which shouldn't really come as a surprise since he usually goes against the majority's opinion. Nonetheless, there's at least one car that will catch you off guard. To get a glimpse at Clarkson's reviews and the entire list of cars, head over to his column in The Sunday Times. Toyota investing $200M in Southern manufacturing

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. To keep up with recent strong sales, Toyota is investing an additional $200 million at its engine plants in the Southern US to increase production capacity of its V6 engines.
The bulk of this money ($150 million) will go to expand Toyota's engine plant in Huntsville, AL, which is currently responsible for supplying engines - four-cylinder, V6 and V8 - to eight of Toyota's 12 domestically produced vehicles. That includes the best-selling Toyota Camry (shown above).
Toyota didn't say exactly what improvements are being made to the plant, but this follows last year's $80 million investment in the plant that is set to be completed by next year raising the engine capacity to 750,000 annual units including 362,000 V6s. The remaining $50 million will go to the casting plants of Toyota-owned Bodine Aluminum in Missouri and Tennessee, which supply engine blocks and cylinder heads to the Huntsville engine plant as well as others in Kentucky and West Virginia. 2016 Toyota Tacoma fears no canyon in Detroit

Tue, Jan 13 2015

It took a lot for it to finally happen, but with the 2015 GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado posing a clear and present danger to its near monopoly in the mid-size pickup market, Toyota finally introduced a new version of its Tacoma. Introduced at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the long-serving Taco has been refit, ditching its old, thirsty and uncouth 4.0-liter V6 with a Toyota's smooth-revving and powerful 3.5-liter, naturally aspirated six pot. Output figures haven't been published, but considering the V6 churns out around 270 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque in vehicles like the Toyota Camry and Highlander, we should expect similar numbers in the 3.5's first truck application. Joining the six-pot will be the previous truck's 2.7-liter four-cylinder. Beyond the powertrain tweaks, Toyota has delivered a significantly updated aesthetic that borrows elements of the 4Runner with newer design touches. A strong, prominent grille and muscular fender arches are fitting touches, while the new wheel design, one of our, featured on the show Tacoma deliver some added visual impact. The cabin, meanwhile, could best be thought of as that of a baby Tundra, sporting a similar layout and, when properly equipped, materials and touches that wouldn't look out of place on its big brother, the Tundra. Take a look at our full crop of live shots, available up top.
