Selling for a friend ... Meticulously maintained 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid.  One owner and non smoking car.  Owner has maintenance records.  Kept up with all required maintenance , down to rotating the tires every oil change.  There is a blemish on the passenger side wheel well, see picture.   Rest of body shows very well for a 2007 (may have a minor scratch here or there but paint shines very well etc).   There are no other known issues.  Just had 4 brand new tires installed!!!  Moonroof, A/C, hands free, cruise , all the goodies.  Very clean car.  Camry performs perfectly and I would drive it cross county right now.   It only has 167,000 miles which is nothing for a Camry!   The miles are highway miles and the car spent most of it's time in the South so the body is in great condition.   Owner wishes that she did not have sell, she loves this car, but it must go!   Don't let this one pass you by!!!!  The car is currently located in Mentor, OH.   Please contact with any questions or if you would like to schedule a test drive.   Vehicle is for sale locally and owner reserves the right to end the auction early.   Please bid only if you are serious.  The Camry currently does have a lien through the bank.   It is rare to see a Camry Hybrid come up for sale so do not let this one pass you by!!!!!  Immediate deposit of $500 (via PayPal) required and full payment due within 72 hours.  Official Bank Check (Cashier's Check) ONLY for payment (as the bank will have to release the title to you.)  Happy to answer any and all questions.

Toyota releases its Le Mans recap, 'The Ultimate Endurance Race'

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Two weeks ago, Audi released its short video about this years 24 Hours of Le Mans, and now Toyota has put the experience into its own words and pictures. Called The Ultimate Endurance Race, the clip and accompanying press release focus on how hybrid power helped Toyota claim second and fourth places with the TS030 Hybrid in just its second year competing at Le Mans.
There are some brief scenes of the battles had this year, like when Lucas di Grassi in the Toyota almost kissed Allan McNish in the Audi above, but the best part might be when Toyota promises it will be back. Next year, it's gonna be good. You'll find the relevant words and the images just below.

Scion xB death sentence uncertain, minor updates announced

Mon, 10 Dec 2012

The last time we discussed the Scion xB and xD, in April of this year, it was to announce a report that both models were being killed. The vice president of the brand had said, "We don't have plans for a direct xB or xD replacement," but no date was given for the termination. Turns out rumors of their deaths have been greatly exaggerated: as part of a Toyota press release that summarized feature and pricing changes for 2013, the Scion xB was included.
The 2013 hatchback (above) gets a new front bumper and lower fascia with LED lighting, and the rear end gets a black diffuser. Stingray Metallic and Elusive Blue Metallic exterior hues will disappear, Absolutely Red and Nautical Blue Metallic will take their places. Inside will be light bronze metallic and chrome accents, as well as new seat fabric and the availability of the BeSpoke Premium Audio. It increases in price by $500, the manual costing $16,800, the automatic $17,750.
The xD (inset) has been left off the list and the Scion website it still hawking the 2012 car. But 2013 xD pricing and new features were announced earlier this year, the MSRP rising by $125 to $16,500. New equipment and options includes smoked headlight covers, more airbags and a two-tone paint job.

Toyota engineer warns automous cars could increase fuel use, urban sprawl

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

An increasing number of people are starting to consider the potential downsides of a transition to autonomous cars. The FBI is already looking at them for the potential ill effects on law enforcement, and a scientist for Toyota is raising the possibility that driverless vehicles could actually be detrimental to the environment over the long term.
Ken Laberteaux, who studies future transportation for Toyota, thinks that autonomous cars could lead to more pollution, not less, says Bloomberg. However, Laberteaux's theory isn't so much based purely on science as it is considering behavioral and historical trends. "US history shows that anytime you make driving easier, there seems to be this inexhaustible desire to live further from things," said Laberteaux during a presentation at the Automated Vehicles Symposium in San Francisco, CA, cited by Bloomberg.
Laberteaux's belief is that if commuters can make their drives easier, then they will be more willing to live farther away from the cities where they work. The end result would be more urban sprawl and increased pollution from the longer travel times.
