Up for auction is my 2004 Toyota Camry LE with an automatic transmission and the 3.0L V6 engine. I purchased this vehicle about 9 months ago at a local dealership and it has served me well but I have decided I want to upgrade to something a little newer with less mileage. When I purchased this vehicle back in November 2012, I also purchased an extended warranty for 36 months or 36,500 miles. I have only had this vehicle for about 9 months and have only driven it about 8k miles, so there's plenty of warranty remaining for the new owner. (27 months or 28,500 miles)  The warranty is transferable. The exterior color is desert sand mica, which is the color shown in the sample photo above. My car looks exactly the same with the exception that my rear windows are factory tinted, which I think makes the overall appearance better. The interior is taupe with a light blue and grey pattern on the seats. The interior is very clean, but not spotless. There was a hole on the front passenger seat, about the size of a dime, that was repaired with the same fabric and pattern as the seats. It's hardly noticeable and really doesn't bother me. All the power equipment works great. The light behind the knob for the air flow direction/defrost sometimes goes out. I think the bulb may be loose. If you push the knob or turn the switch, it comes right back on, but just thought I'd mention it. I personally have not noticed any rust on the vehicle anywhere. The body is in really good shape. Only minor dings and scratches. Paint still shines like new. There is also an exhaust tip installed on this vehicle. I think it adds to the beauty of the vehicle. It does not alter the sound of the exhaust. The tires currently mounted on the car have lots of tread remaining but I personally don't like them. They are what I like to call value tires, but that is up to you if you want to change them or not. However, the spare tire is a brand-new full size BridgeStone Potenza. I do not know the exact measurements on the brakes, but I just had them looked at the other day and was told they would have no problem passing inspection. This vehicle is currently PA inspected but expires 09/13. I would be surprised if it needed anything. The battery installed on this car is a 72 month battery that was manufactured in 7/2010. I had the battery, starter and alternator tested at my local Wal*Mart. The alternator is starting to run a little low, but no worries, it's covered under the warranty. Everything else seems to be functioning just fine. I have had the oil changed 3 times since I've owned the vehicle. The tires have been rotated once. I had the throttle body and a fuel injection cleaning done. I have personally replaced both the engine and cabin air filters. I have the Michelin Stealth Hybrid wiper blades installed. I did apply rain-x on the front windshield, but it has pretty much worn off. I also wanted to mention that one of the specialized bolts used to secure the air cleaner box was lost. I wanted to replace it, but it has been near impossible to find one. The box is still very secure, so it's not going to go anywhere. Well, I think that is all. I have tried to think of every possible detail so you are able to make a wise and informed decision. If you have any questions, please feel free to E-mail me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank You!

Toyota and Mazda set to expand partnership

Mon, May 11 2015

Toyota and Mazda are already teaming up for the Scion iA and Mazda2, but that partnership might just be the beginning. Reuters reports the two Japanese companies could expand their work together, with Toyota chipping in its experience with both fuel cells and plug-in-hybrid tech, and Mazda contributing its know-how in regards to its Skyactiv line of engines. The report cites a pair of unnamed sources that are "not authorized to discuss the matter publicly." The move, on the surface, is certainly appealing for both parties. Mazda has very little experience with hybrids (remember the Ford-rebadged Tribute Hybrid?), let alone something as advanced as a fuel-cell vehicle. Teaming with Toyota, arguably the world's greatest hybrid manufacturer, would give it a serious leg up. For the Japanese giant, meanwhile, a partnership with Mazda could expand the economy of scale for the Mirai FCV's tech, while Skyactiv engines would do well in replacing the base engines in cars like the Corolla, Camry, and RAV4. What are your thoughts? Would an expanded partnership between Toyota and Mazda make sense? Can you think of any drawbacks? Have your say in Comments. Mazda and Toyota formally announce plans to 'make cars better'

Wed, May 13 2015

Following Monday's report that Toyota and Mazda could be expanding their cooperation, the two Japanese automakers have made it official, issuing a joint press release announcing a "mutually beneficial long-term partnership" that will "make cars better." The two companies will set up a joint committee to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of each party. As we explained yesterday, that likely means Mazda will benefit from Toyota's plug-in-hybrid and fuel-cell tech, while the world's largest automaker can take advantage of the Zoom-Zoom automaker's line of efficient Skyactiv engines. "I am delighted that our two companies can share the same vision and work together to make cars better. I can think of nothing more wonderful than showing the world – together – that the next 100 years of cars will be just as fun as the first," Toyota President Akio Toyoda said in the attached joint statement. Mazda President and CEO Masamichi Kogai echoed that sentiment, saying: "I hope that by working together to make cars better, we can raise the value of cars in the eyes of consumers while also enhancing the manufacturing capabilities of our home, Hiroshima, and all the communities we are involved in as well." Scroll down for the official joint press release. Toyota and Mazda Team Up to Make Cars Better Tokyo, Japan, May 13, 2015-Toyota Motor Corporation and Mazda Motor Corporation today entered an agreement to build a mutually beneficial long term partnership. By leveraging the resources of both companies to complement and enhance each other's products and technologies, the partnership will result in more appealing cars that meet the diverse needs and tastes of customers all over the world. A joint committee will now be set up to evaluate how best to utilize each company's respective strengths. The committee will encourage broad and meaningful collaboration across a range of fields, including environmental and advanced safety technologies. Marking the agreement, Toyota President Akio Toyoda said: "As evidenced by their SKYACTIV Technologies and KODO-Soul of Motion design, Mazda has proven that it always thinks of what is coming next for vehicles and technology, while still managing to stay true to its basic carmaking roots. In this way, Mazda very much practices what Toyota holds dear: making ever-better cars. I am delighted that our two companies can share the same vision and work together to make cars better.

Major Alexa deal will bring Amazon services into more cars

Wed, Jan 9 2019

Amazon and its personal assistance service Alexa are partnering with HERE Technologies to create a new connected mobility service powerhouse. Alexa will integrate with HERE's navigation and location services to offer what the two companies are calling a "true voice-first-navigation experience." Alexa will come pre-integrated with HERE navigation on-demand, which the automakers can then enable, which should help cut down on development time. One of the biggest features from this partnership is how directions could be offered and delivered using HERE's Open Location Platform (OLP). Currently, the OLP uses data from several car manufacturers to provide insights into real-time location and traffic. But on Alexa, this could be used to provide directional context. For example, Alexa could say, "Turn right after [such-and-such a building]" rather than just, "Turn right." Amazon has been testing the automotive waters throughout the past decade. Its home-based Alexa-enabled devices are already offered with connections to several manufacturers. To various degrees of integration, it can already pair with Ford, Genesis, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai and BMW vehicles. At the end of 2018, Amazon took things a step further when it introduced the Echo Auto, a Bluetooth-connected Alexa assistant device that can be physically kept in a car. Currently only available by invitation (its production and distribution have been delayed), the $25 device is essentially a voice service that works together with smartphones and connects to a car's speakers. Users can command it to do a variety of things, including playing music, setting navigation, opening the garage door, finding local stores, making calls, setting reminders, and thousands of other "skills." According to The Verge, nearly 1 million people have already ordered the device. Some (well, probably few) may know HERE Technologies from its maps on Windows Phones. We all know how that turned out, though. Today, HERE has expanded into a multi-function suite that is available in multiple mediums, including many automotive applications. HERE Automotive's connected vehicle services include real-time traffic, parking, weather, fuel prices, hazard warnings, traffic sign integration, and even EV charging stations. These all incorporate and extend the use of HERE's location and tracking programming. HERE is already partnered with BMW, Audi, Daimler, Intel, Mobileye, NVIDIA, and has investments from Bosch, Continental and Pioneer.
