2003 Toyota Avalon Xls Sedan 4-door 3.0l One Owner Only 65k Miles No Reserve Nr on 2040-cars
Staatsburg, New York, United States
|
This is a ONE OWNER vehicle, Grandma's car, with only 65K original miles. It is in excellent condition, selling because she no longer drives. I have only driven it 100 miles or so, but have noticed nothing that does not work. Paint has some scratches, especially on the hood. Also a few scuffs on the front passenger fender corner, tried to show in a picture. I would prefer someone sees it in person first, and test drives are available to those that prove they are serious buyers. I will, however, cooperate with shipping at the buyers expense. In my honest opinion, I would rate it:
Paint - 8 Body - 9-10 (no rust, dents or dings that I see) Interior - 8.5 no rips or tears in leather, carpet has some stains, haven't even tried to take them out yet Mechanical - 10? have found nothing that doesn't work. Car has been mostly dealer maintained, although I don't have receipts Dual zone climate control (relationship saver). I'm happy to answer questions and take more photos. Car must be sold, NO RESERVE auction. Located in Staatsburg, NY, zip 12580 which is between Albany and New York City, near Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park and Rhinebeck. Fly in and drive her home. Sold as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or implied. Clean and clear Connecticut title in hand. ***Opening bid to win is about $2000 under book value for private party sale. Serious buyers can call or text me at 95four 6four8 62four1. Thanks, Mike |

What's in a trademark? Sometimes, the next iconic car name
Thu, 07 Aug 2014
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is a treasure trove for auto enthusiasts, especially those who double as conspiracy theorists.
Why has Toyota applied to trademark "Supra," the name of one of its legendary sports cars, even though it hasn't sold one in the United States in 16 years? Why would General Motors continue to register "Chevelle" long after one of the most famous American muscle cars hit the end of the road? And what could Chrysler possibly do with the rights to "313," the area code for Detroit?
Toyota U2 urban utility concept inspired by Maker Faire [w/video]
Tue, 09 Sep 2014There's a quiet revolution happening in US cities. People want to mix an urban lifestyle with a connection to nature and appreciation for craftsmanship. The result of all of this is folks pursuing things as varied as urban farming, home brewing and the whole maker movement. Toyota thinks it has the perfect concept for these intrepid customers with its new Urban Utility concept that it is debuting during a panel discussion hosted by Make: magazine in San Francisco and debuting publicly on September 20 at the World Maker Faire in New York City.
The Urban Utility concept can best be described as a modern take on the old panel van. Designers from Toyota's Calty Design Research center in California interviewed Maker Faire participants to find out what its users want from a novel vehicle like this. "Toyota saw an opportunity for a new approach to an urban vehicle based on increasing re-urbanization of our cities and urban drivers' desire for flexibility, fun and maneuverability," said Kevin Hunter president of Calty.
On the outside, the Urban Utility doesn't really scream for attention. It's meant to meet users "desire for greater utility but a smaller vehicle footprint," according to the release, but the shape is still very much a van. The designers do try to lend it some panache with the LED headlights up front and checker board side panels. It's really more about utility than looks, though, because the roof can roll back for taller loads, the rear glass retracts into the tailgate, and the whole rear can fold down as a ramp to load stuff more easily into the cabin. Toyota isn't talking about a powertrain yet but claims that the underbody is also especially durable for a long life in the big city.
2015 Toyota Yaris
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Advertising firms have done an admirable job convincing consumers that the easiest way to find a best-in-segment car or truck is by looking at a few key metrics. In the most elementary terms, the vehicle with the highest horsepower, most gears in its transmission housing, lowest acceleration times and best fuel economy most certainly must be the class benchmark.
Yet as the commercials and billboards continue to drive that deceitful message, Toyota is betting shoppers in the subcompact segment are a bit more discerning. The Japanese automaker has just launched its updated 2015 Yaris, a three- and five-door offering that bucks the innovation and performance trends by offering what Toyota feels that entry-level buyers actually desire - reliability, practicality and a low sticker price.
It's sweltering in the tropical Hawaiian sun as I check out the deeply refreshed 2015 Yaris SE. This five-door hatchback, a range-topping version of the company's subcompact "sporty hatch" (Toyota's words, not mine), builds on the new-in-2012 generation by wearing new front and rear fascias, redesigned headlights and some attractive new wheels for the upcoming model year.
