1993 Toyota 4 Runner SR5, 4X4, 2.4 L R22 motor, 5 speed, Hunter’s dream ride

My little toy project that I don’t have the time to finish it.  Back in school and need to weed out some of my toys.

I am the second owner, 1st was a good friend of mine.  Now I did sell to a friend and he drove it for 2 months and the timing chain wore a hole in the cover and water and oil mixed, so he parked it.  An easy fix turned into it sitting for 6 years.  I bought it back and went to work on it.  Here is everything I have had done:

~~ Motor was pulled and rebuilt, 4500 miles on new motor, 199,XXX on body

~~ New air conditioning compressor, evaporator core, and expansion valve.  Completely redone and works great!!

~~ New brakes on front with rotors

~~ New rear main seal

~~ Everything oiled and greased

~~new stereo system….1 12” sub and amp

A few things that still need done is the rear window will not roll down. Not sure if motor died or is stuck.  Haven’t had time to drop it off and get looked at.  The window washer fluid tank leaks so washer spray doesn’t work.  Which I never really cared because I never use spray.  Rear window wiper doesn’t work.  I don’t think it ever worked since I have had it.

Power windows, door locks, keyless entry with alarm.  4 wheel drive works like a champ, just had to use it for some ice and snow we had this last winter.  Tinted windows and window vents. Body is straight, no dents.  Has a few scratches, a little faded, but body is straight. The clear coat is peeling in the passenger rear quarter panel.  Interior is in great shape for being so old.  Have seat covers on the front seats. I am going to have inside detailed next week.  Ordered new floor mats not too long ago.  Have new carpet dash cover.

I made custom kick panels for each of the doors, covered in tweed, 4 - 6” 2 way speakers in each door.  I mounted blue LED lights behind speaker grills and door handles on a separate switch.

You can drive this thing to the deer lease, and continue on to the stand.

Watch the Muppets go for ice cream in a Toyota

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

Do Muppets drive? We're not sure it's necessarily a good idea, but it's been known to happen. Fozzy called his hibernating uncle's Studebaker a bear's "natural habitat," and Doctor Teeth wouldn't get the Electric Mayhem very far without his band's psychedelically painted school bus. But how about Rolf in a 2014 Toyota Highlander?
That's what we got a glimpse of in the run-up to the Super Bowl, and the same combination (plus one Rizzo the Rat) that features in this adorably ordinary video below. Ordinary because it's just a couple of guys going out for an ice cream. Adorable because, well... they're Muppets. See what we mean in the surprisingly entertaining two-minute clip below.

2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, Volvos earn IIHS Top Safety Pick rating

Tue, Oct 2 2018

It's time for another round-up of recent IIHS crash tested cars. The trio this time include the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback, 2019 Volvo XC90 and 2018 Volvo S90. All three have earned one of the highest ratings from the IIHS, the Top Safety Pick. And all three continue a trend of very safe cars having slightly below-par headlights, preventing them from earning the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating. Of these three cars, the Corolla Hatchback has the most impressive scores. It earned the highest "Good" rating in every single crash test, including the difficult small-overlap passenger-side collision. It also received the top score for access to LATCH anchors for child seats. The standard forward collision prevention technology also brought home the best score possible, stopping the car before a crash at speeds up to 25 mph. The headlights themselves weren't particularly bad either, earning the second-highest score of "Acceptable" with both the standard and optional LED headlights. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Both Volvos shared similar scores to the Corolla Hatchback, with "Good" ratings for all crash tests they participated in, and top rank for their standard forward collision technology. Both vehicles were not tested for the passenger-side small overlap collision, so there is no score in that area. Both also received the "Acceptable" rating for LATCH anchor access. In the headlight department, the XC90 earned "Acceptable" scores for both of its available headlights, and the S90 received an "Acceptable" for its optional lights, while the standard ones were rated as "Marginal." Toyota Camry incentives and fleet sales cranked to keep sales crown, insiders worried

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

We've been watching for some time now as Toyota has piled more incentives on the hood of its Camry sedan, and Automotive News reports that the we're not the only ones with raised eyebrows. The current Camry hasn't even been on the market for two years, but the family sedan segment is more hotly contested than it has been in years. It's that high level of competition that has led the automaker to uncharacteristically add more money on the hood in order to assure it maintains its long-held title of America's Best-Selling Car, a mantle it has owned for a dozen years. It's ramping up fleet sales, too.
According to the analysts at TrueCar, Toyota has bumped incentives per unit every month this year, now totaling some $2,750 as of May, a 38-percent hike over this time last year. That's more spiff money than the segment's other best sellers, the Nissan Altima ($2,400), Ford Fusion ($2,300) and Honda Accord ($1,400), all of whom have actually decreased their incentive spend by 20- to 40-percent over the same period.
The ramp up in incentive spending and fleet sales has analysts concerned that Toyota will tarnish the Camry's historically sterling resale value. ALG pegs the 2013 Camry's current 36-month residual value at 54.4 percent, well ahead of the segment average's 50.9 percent (but shy of the Accord's 55.6 percent). However, analysts are concerned that as the current generation ages, their resale values will eventually plummet if incentives continue to increase as Toyota looks to keep the Camry's best-selling car crown going forward.
