Awesome truck with TONS of time and money put into it. It is a very capable rock crawler and can also be driven on the streets. I would not recommend this truck for long distance freeway use due to the gearing and high center of gravity. Clean title, new plates and tabs, ready to rock. Here's some details:

engine/trans:
-low mileage 1.6 block with reman head, new timing belt, water pump, headgasket, etc.
-Sidewinder intake manifold with harley davidson cv carb, new fuel pump and fuel pressure reg.
-new clutch during rebuild, stock t-case, stock 5spd trans.
-Only a few thousand miles or so on this engine build.

Body/interior:
-Very clean %99 rust free body with 51k miles, has a few small dents and a few dime sized holes in the driver side floor. all floorpan rust has been removed and repainted to stop from spreading
-fender arches have been widened and moved up about an inch to accommodate larger tires.
-heavy duty rock sliders made of thick 3x3 angle iron have been welded onto the rocker panels.
-Has a full 6 point roll cage made of some pretty thick 1.5" DOM tubing.
-safari top with custom build cab divider with window fully encloses the cab for winter driving.(plywood and plexiglass)
-custom square tube bumpers front and rear with winch plate on front.
-tracker seat swap, they are also lowered 2 inches for tall folks. Besttop seat covers included but not pictured.
-the floors are painted with truck bed liner, no carpet, no radio, heat works great.

Chassis/susp/tires:
-samurai/tracker hybrid axles with 5.13 gears.
-SOA lift with jeep springs in the rear
-newish long travel shocks
-aluminum driveshaft spacers
-panhard bar and custom lowered steering arm
-like new 33x12.5x15 Procomp xterrain tires with spare

Thing that aren't quite finished:
-The carb may need some fine tuning, especially if you are in a different climate. It runs great in 30deg mn weather as is. I've got different sized jets to go with it.
-exhaust ends at the rear axle, has a quiet muffler and works fine, just might want to plumb it out the side or back.
-some loose wiring in the engine bay that is no longer needed due to carb swap, just haven't removed yet.
-if you are not mechanically inclined and don't have basic tools, I recommend that you do not buy this truck.
-included is a box of parts like, harware, stock carb, door hinges, radio bezzle, glove box door, extra shock mounts, bumpstops, and a few other useful spares.

If you have any questions about the truck, feel free to give me a call. Also, If you want pictures of a specific part of the truck I can text them to you.

Pentagram aims to cut through the noise of EV sound design

Sat, Jun 5 2021

What does an electric vehicle sound like when it goes from 0 to 60, when it signals a turn, when it’s powered down for the night? EV motors have fewer parts and are therefore incredibly silent, which presents safety concerns for drivers who recognize speed by sound and pedestrians who canÂ’t hear an approaching vehicle.  In 2019, regulators in Europe and the U.S. began requiring EVs to have warning sounds, but they left it up to the car manufacturers to choose those sounds. Many have taken the new legislation as an opportunity to not only create a branded sound, but also to stir up some marketing hype by enlisting famous musicians to compose the noise of an electric engine. Hans Zimmer created the Blade Runner-esque sound concept for BMWÂ’s i4 electric sedan, and, strangely, Linkin Park is creating EV sounds for BMW.  Sound designer Yuri Suzuki, a partner at design consultancy firm Pentagram, recently conducted a research project into the crucial role electric car sound has on a userÂ’s safety, enjoyability, communication and brand recognition, out of which he developed a range of car sounds. Suzuki says that while some automakers have chosen beautiful and interesting car sound designs, chasing celebrity clout is not the way to go when designing the sound behind serious machines.  “We really have to design carefully based on the psychological effects on a human,” Suzuki told TechCrunch. “ItÂ’s all about the relation between the human being and the machine itself.” Suzuki says smart sound design can help ease the difference between human and car by providing a shared language. Based on surveys he conducted, Suzuki came up with two new skeuomorphic electric engine sounds as well as adaptive sounds that reflect the time of day and the location of the drive.  His engine sounds are reminiscent of internal combustion engine revs, providing both drivers and pedestrians with a recognizable indication of speed increasing and decreasing. The sounds are placed at different pitches: one quite low, like a spaceship taking off; the other a bit higher, like a hovercraft vertically ascending. Audi, Ford and Jaguar Land Rover have also chosen to make futuristic copies of gasoline engines for some of their new electric vehicles.  SuzukiÂ’s sound design also includes in-car sounds, like powering on, turn signals or horn honking, that use AI to adapt to the time of day.

Suzuki previews Crosshiker, X-Lander, Hustler ahead of Tokyo

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

With the Tokyo Motor Show looming on the horizon, Suzuki has revealed a trio of concept cars it will present at the expo.
First up is the Crosshiker concept, a compact crossover that looks good enough in metallic red, but in its essence reminds us of the oft-maligned X-90 convertible crossover coupe. Based on the G70/Regina concept, the Crosshiker packs a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine into a compact form that weighs just 1,785 pounds.
Next comes the X-Lander, which strikes us as a smaller take on the formula espoused by the Isuzu VX-02 or Land Rover DC100 Sport concepts. Unfortunately based on the Jimny, the white X-Lander incorporates a 1.3-liter engine with a robotized manual and four-wheel drive into a high-riding, chopped-windshield convertible sport-ute form.

Toyota and Suzuki partner up on autonomy with capital alliance

Wed, Aug 28 2019

TOKYO — Toyota and Suzuki will take small equity stakes in each other, the Japanese car makers said on Wednesday, as they seek to develop newer technologies and meet sweeping changes upending the global auto industry. The tie-up is the latest example of automakers chasing scale to manage costs and boost development. Automakers — especially smaller ones like Suzuki — are struggling to meet the breakneck growth of an industry transformed by the rise of electric vehicles (EVs), ride-hailing and autonomous driving. Toyota will pay around 96 billion yen ($908 million) for a 4.94% stake in Suzuki, while Suzuki will acquire in the market around 48 billion yen ($454 million) worth of shares in Toyota. That is equivalent to 0.2% of Toyota's shares as of Wednesday's closing price, before the announcement. The companies said in a joint statement they intended to overcome challenges facing the industry by "building and deepening cooperative relationships in new fields while continuing to be competitors". They said they would strengthen technologies and products in which each of them specialize in. The firms had said in 2016 they were exploring a partnership, citing technological challenges and the need to keep up with industry consolidation. Earlier this year they said they would produce EVs and compact cars for each other. Automakers around the globe have been joining forces to slash development and manufacturing costs of new technology. Ford and Volkswagen have said they will spend billions of dollars to jointly develop electric and self-driving vehicles. Shares of Toyota and Suzuki closed little changed before the announcement. TOYOTA'S ORBIT The deal brings Suzuki firmly into Toyota' orbit, alongside Daihatsu, Hino Motors, Subaru, Mazda and Yamaha. Rival Nissan has an alliance with France's Renault, although that has been shaken following the ouster of former Chairman Carlos Ghosn, and with Mitsubishi Motors. Honda has a tie-up with General Motors. Toyota has been looking to expand scale in next-generation technology and said this year it would offer free access to patents for EV motors and power control units. It believes that move would help it cut by as much as half the outlays for expanded electric and hybrid vehicle components in the United States, China and Japan. Supplying rivals would greatly expand the scale of production for hardware.
