2004 Subaru Wrx Sti - *clean Title, Aspen White, Wingless, 329 Wheel Horsepower on 2040-cars
Lake Forest, California, United States
It breaks my heart, but because I'm starting a family, I'm selling my Aspen White 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi. This car is in excellent shape and has top of the line, tasteful mods. It's quick but has a very conservative tune considering its mods so it maintains dependability and every day drivability. The current tune is 329hp/330tq to the wheels on 91 octane. With the supplied Cobb Access Port you can also flash a tune that will put down 355hp/374tq to the wheels on 95 octane.
The car is very subtle, as it is wingless and badgeless, with all black interior. All major engine mods (including the tune) were done by Harman Motive (now AQ Motorsports). I bought the car from the first owner in 2008. It has always been owned by non-smokers. *This car has a clean title (which I have in-hand) and CarFax (report will be provided). Receipts for maintenance and mods will be included. Bid with confidence, extensive seller feedback, 100% positive - including 2 cars. Mods include: Engine: Forced Performance 20G Turbo Walbro GSS342 Fuel Pump Power Enterprise 850CC Injectors Koyo Aluminum Radiator Perrin Intake Hose Perrin Radiator Hoses Cobb Turbo Heat Shield Exhaust: HKS Uppipe HKS Hi-Power Exhaust (comes with silencer) Perrin downpipe Electrical & Interior: Cobb Access Port (with 91, 95 and stock tunes) Prodrive Boost Solenoid NGK Iridium Spark Plugs Okada Projects Plasma Direct High-Power Coil Packs Defi 60mm Boost Gauge Defi Control Unit APEXi Turbo Timer iPod and Auxilary hookup for the Eclipse Head Unit JDM Red Hazard Button Suspension & Wheels: Tein (Flex) Coilovers -- 16 way adjustable damping Cusco Front Strut Tower Bar Progress Front Anti-Roll Bar Cusco Rear Strut Tower Bar Progress Rear Sway Bar Silver BBS STi Wheels BF Goodrich G-Force KDW Ultra High Performance Tires Exterior: Black-housing Headlights Pillarless Grill Brand new OEM Splitters Badgeless Wingless (OEM Impreza trunk) *Also comes with a Thule bike/snowboard rack. Works well for surf boards too. I am willing to ship the car at the cost of the buyer. If you'd like to calculate shipping costs, the car will ship from 92630. The car is also listed locally. I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells. |

2015 Subaru Outback
Tue, 01 Jul 2014"We like producing cars that are different." That's the company line trumpeted by several Subaru executives during the launch of the 2015 Outback - one of Fuji Heavy's most successful vehicles to date. Managing Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski accurately noted that while Subaru has never really found salvation with its mainstream sedans, it's the higher-riding, butcher offerings like the Outback and the Impreza-based XV Crosstrek that have been sales stars for the Japanese company. In 2013, for example, Subaru sold nearly three Outbacks for every Legacy it moved. And in 2014, the XV is on pace to outsell the Impreza upon which its based.
But Subarus have always been different, catering to unique customers that desire something a bit more special than your run-of-the-mill sedan or crossover. It's clearly worked, with Subaru having posted 30 months of year-over-year sales increases as of this writing. And even as the automaker's portfolio goes more mainstream, smoothing out its serially awkward styling and gunning for a larger market share here in the United States, that intrinsic Subaru differentiation is still baked in to each and every product.
It's that new Outback we're here to talk about today, a vehicle that's been comprehensively redesigned for the 2015 model year while not shaking up the formula that's made it successful since its inception in the mid-1990s, back when it (arguably) launched what we now know as the crossover utility vehicle segment. It's still plenty different - and plenty good, too.
Subaru Cross Sport Design Concept is a BRZ with a backpack
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Sports cars are a notoriously tough sell over the long-term. Like convertibles, sales of even the best sports cars tend to be front-loaded in the first couple of years, at which point they drop off like a stone. That may serve to explain this mysterious two-door wagonback concept from Subaru, dubbed Cross Sport Design Concept.
While details aren't exactly thick on the ground, at first blush, this appears to be a higher-riding BRZ with a more utilitarian backpack. Reports suggest the rear-wheel-drive sports coupe's chassis is riding underneath, despite the fact that the Cross Sport is 2.6 inches longer overall. Assuming the chassis itself is basically unmodified and the 2.0-liter, flat, four-cylinder engine is untouched, this could be a very effective way for Subaru to increase its return on investment in the BRZ's underpinnings while generating a very cool (if niche) shooting brake model.
With the exception of a few bits of concept car frosting (wood-lined cargo bay floor, overly-detailed steroscopic camera mounts, slivered side mirrors, etc.), this thing looks production ready, and that's just ducky with us.
Subaru to stop building Camry for Toyota in the US
Fri, 09 May 2014It was back in 2007 that Subaru of Indiana Automotive, under contract from Subaru minority shareholder Toyota, built the first Toyota Camry at its plant in Lafayette, Indiana. Rumblings of the end of that contract work have been around for a while, as Subaru talked of expanding capacity to build more units and add a line for the Impreza, and Toyota talked of moving Camry production to its Georgetown, KY plant. The news was official internally last November when SIA Executive Vice President Tom Easterday told the Louisville Courier-Journal that Camry production would end. Now, Automotive News reports that both automakers have admitted publicly that the end will come in 2016.
SIA currently has a 170,000-unit capacity devoted to the home-brand Legacy and Outback models, while a $400-million expansion increases that to 300,000 units to prepare the facility for Impreza production in two years. Freeing up the 100,000 units of production devoted to the Camry means a 400,000-unit capability, which is far more than Subaru needs at the moment, but the Toyota exit will allow it to expand any way it sees fit. Subaru has said it will absorb the workers on the Camry line and no jobs will be lost, the mayor of Lafayette saying the development could change the timetable for the expansion.
