Here is a GORGEOUS 2008 Subaru Outback that had only ONE OWNER since it was brand new and this car is in excellent condition!!! This car is fully loaded with: 2.5 liter peppy yet fuel-efficient 4-cyl engine, automatic transmission with SPORT/TIPTRONIC option (manual shift), SUBARU'S LEGENDARY ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM, power windows, power mirrors, power door locks, cruise control, tilt, ABS, dual front airbags, traction control system, stock am/fm with CD PLAYER, on board computer with distance to empty, fuel economy info etc., and factory ALLOY WHEELS!!! It drives and handles beautifully with no warning lights displayed on the dash..except for low tire pressure light. Cosmetically, there are no dents , rust or defects on the body aside from very minor ding on the fuel door and scratches on rear bumper. There is a rip in driver's seat and some staining on back seat. Carpets are clean. All interior gauges and lights work as they should. There are no rattles or squeaks and the handling is tight. This Irishman really likes the Toyota GT86
Sun, 10 Feb 2013Okay, okay - by this point in time just liking the Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, what have you) doesn't make you special. Even if you're a sort of funny sounding, funny looking Irishman, who probably isn't the most seasoned car reviewer ever, digging the GT86 is not news.
However, if, when you choose to publish your ten-minute-long review, you include exclamatory phrases about your own pubic hair, Ozzy Osborne's drug habit and "gentleman vegetable stuff," well sir, then you'll have our attention.
Don't give up on this video, available down below, after the first couple of minutes, we implore you. The silver-tongued Irishman doesn't really get warmed up until four minutes in, or so. Believe us, it's worth the wait.
Cosworth teases upgrades for Subaru BRZ
Mon, 19 May 2014Subaru may or may not produce an STI version of the BRZ. Things seem to go back and forth on the subject. But Subaru Tecnica International isn't the only company with a history of tuning Subies. So does Cosworth, and now the British racing firm appears to be turning its attention to the BRZ and its Toyota- and Scion-badged siblings.
For those unacquainted, Cosworth is more than your average tuning company. It's a racing firm first and foremost, having made F1 engines under its own name as well as Ford's (chief among them the all-conquering DFV 3.0-liter V8 of 1960s and 70s fame), not to mention engines for Indy, rally and even high-performance, road-going versions of the Ford Sierra, Chevy Vega and Mercedes 190E. The list goes on and on, but you get the point.
Now withdrawing from Formula One, Cosworth is focusing its attention on tuning road cars again with the launch of the Cosworth Power Package line, the first of which will focus on the Toyota GT86 (aka Scion FR-S) and Subaru BRZ. We don't know just yet what will be included in the packaged dubbed FA-20, but from the video teaser below, it seems there'll be upgrades to the exhaust, suspension, aero and - if we're lucky - maybe a super- or turbocharger for the 2.0-liter flat-four engine. We'll have to wait and see, but we get the feeling that with Cosworth on the job, it'll be worth the wait. Check out the minute-long video below in the meantime.
Subaru teases Viziv concept ahead of Geneva
Fri, 08 Feb 2013Subaru will be stocking its display at the Geneva Motor Show next month: The European debut of the Subaru Forester joins the world premiere of a diesel Outback with Lineartronic CVT and a display called Subaru 360 that showcases the "brand's history and future vision."
The genuine future-speak, however, is intended to be conveyed by the Viziv concept (click the image above to enlarge). This name "Viziv" is culled from the phrase "Vision for Innovation," and the "future-generation crossover" that bears the 25th-century name has been designed to be an embodiment of "enjoyment and peace of mind."
That's quite a holistic burden for just one crossover. In the more mundane world, the Viziv will suggest Subaru's new design and technology directions. Subaru has created a mini-site for the concept that will be updated during the show, but for now, it just lets us know that March 5 will be "the start of something exciting."
