2007 Subaru Outback L.L. Bean edition wagon

98,XXX miles

Located in Westminster, MD 21157

I am selling this because I am going back to school in the fall and need the money.

This is completely stock and has always been that way.

I bought the car from Carmax in June of 2011 with 43,420 miles.
Most of the miles are all highway miles.  A few road trips totaling about 30k and driving between MD and PA and to work all on the highway.

Always used synthetic fluids.

It is champagne gold opal with the tan leather interior.

Some of the standard features for the L.L. Bean are:

H6 engine
5EAT Transmission with VDC
Heated front seats
Dual moon roofs
Tow hitch
Fog lights
Heated mirrors
Dual Climate Control
and much more.

The only thing I have added is a Subaru bug deflector.

The tires are Khumo Ecsta 4X. They were installed in May of 2012 with 78K on the car.  They have been rotated at every oil change and I had snow tires on over the winter.

Front and rear diff fluid changed on 2/22/13 at 96,400 with Mobil 1 full synthetic.

New Drivers side axle installed 1/29/13

New brakes were installed in August as well as a new passenger side front axle.

I have babied this car and have taken good care of it.

The only issues I know of are that one of the tire pressure sensors isn't reading correctly, causing the TPMS light to start blinking after you drive for 15 miles or so.  This started after putting the new tires on so a Subaru dealer can reset it and hopefully that fixes the issue.

Also the adjustment switch for the drivers seat is broken.  It still clips on but one side is loose.  All adjustments work fine except to raise and lower the bottom rear of the seat.

There is a burn mark on the back seat in the middle.  It isn't a hole and could easily be repaired.  It was there before I bought the car and never got it repaired.

All of the stickers in the pictures have been removed.

The car has less than normal wear for its age and mileage.  A few scratches and maybe a ding or two and the interior is in great condition (aside from the mark on the rear seat)

Toyota, Honda, Nissan and more collaborating to increase fuel efficiency

Sun, 25 May 2014

Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Daihatsu have announced an alliance that will see a push to improve fuel economy from both gas-powered and diesel-powered engines by as much as 30 percent before the end of the decade.
The newly assembled Research Association of Automotive Internal Combustion Engines put the roughly $20-million project together, with the Japanese government committing to half the cost while the eight manufacturers will chip in the rest.
According to Automotive News, the automakers will team up and share basic research on internal-combustion engines in a bid to cut costs. Eventually, the results of the research will find its way into a production vehicle, although it's unclear just when we'll see the fruits of this partnership on the road.

Is the Subaru BRZ STI being teased really only a tS version?

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

Teaser images of a purported Subaru BRZ STI were uncovered last night and sent the internet into a collective state of hysterics. That's not hugely surprising, though, considering the reverence that the BRZ, along with its fraternal twins, the Scion FR-S and Toyota GT86, have garnered from the automotive media. The sole sticking point, really, has been its mere 200 horsepower. People have been chomping at the bit over a higher output version of the sublime rear driver.
Those same people may be in for a disappointment, though. See, the BRZ STI that was teased last night might not be a real STI. Instead, it's looking like it might be a BRZ tS. According to 7Tune.com, the timing of the photos posted on Subaru's website lined up with Subaru's 86 Festival at Fuji Speedway, where the Subaru BRZ tS debuted. Despite wearing STI badges, the tS isn't the full-tilt STI model we've been hoping for. Instead, you can think of the relationship between tS models and STI models as sort of like the difference between a BMW 3 Series M Sport and a BMW M3.
Certainly, the speccing of the tS supports that idea. The engine of the BRZ remains untouched in both tS models, which is one of the primary things we expect a full-bore STI to address. A number of interior and exterior styling items have been added, along with Bilstein suspension pieces and six-pot Brembo brakes. The tS sports two different trim levels, with the higher end using Recaro seats, black alloy wheels, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. The base tS features silver wheels, standard seats, and all the same suspension and brake upgrades. Adding fuel to the fire that these are not the true STI models is the limited production run - Subaru will only build 750 tS cars.

Which is quicker in the standing mile, a Subaru WRX STI or a Porsche Cayman?

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI and 2014 Porsche Cayman are both saddled with unfair reputations. The STI with its huge wing and gold wheels has the title of the ultimate boy-racer. On the other hand, Porsche brand snobs look down on he base Cayman as just a wannabe 911. In reality, they are both pretty fantastic performance cars. But what would happen if the two of them lined up at a stoplight, and maybe the guy in the suit in the Cayman started throwing some revs at the young man in the STI? Automobile decided to find out in a recent video pitting the two stereotyped hot rods against each other in a standing-mile drag race.
In terms of raw numbers, they are surprisingly close. Both use flat engines and six-speed manual transmissions here, but the Subaru has more power and torque. However, the Porsche makes up for it with 300 pounds less weight. Neither should have a problem with traction either thanks to the STI's sophisticated all-wheel-drive setup, and the Cayman's mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.
The comparable specs certainly show themselves in the real world for the race. We're not going to give away the winner here because it's too exciting, but let's just say the finish is very, very close. Scroll down to watch both of them shrug off their stereotypes and show off their real performance.
