 2005 OUTBACK XT TURBO LIMITED

For sale is one very nice, clean limited, turbo Outback. The pictures will speak for themselves, but I will give a brief description also. This car has been garage kept, smoke/pet free, and is in overall great condition inside and out. All of the maintenance is up to date and there are service records detailing maintenance. This car is currently running and has been running full synthetic per the manual. The timing belt, belt tensioner, pulleys and water pump were replaced at 95k and the turbo has been replaced within the last five hundred miles. Along with the turbo replacement, the Subaru recommended upgrades to the turbo oil supply lines have been performed. All of the systems in and on the car are working properly. If you happen to be a Virgina resident, the state inspection is valid through January 2015.

The interior of the car show very little wear and is in outstanding condition. The heated leather seats are in great shape with no rips or tears whatsoever. the carpet and original floor mats are in great condition. With the exception of the driver's floor mat, the others do not even appear used. The rear cargo area is also in excellent condition. Everything is where it should be and as it should be.

The engine and transmission are in great running condition. All maintenance and repair issues have been addressed at the correct intervals if not ahead of time for preventative care. The automatic five speed transmission has the sport mode feature and shifts through all the gears the way it should.

There are a few blemishes on the car, but nothing major. These can be seen in the photos. There is a scuff on the driver's rear bumper and a few other small dings, the most noticeable being near the driver's door handle.

Overall, the car is great to own and drive. If you haven't driven a Subaru, ask anyone who has and they will tell you how great they are!

I am still driving the car so the mileage is subject to change.

Send me a message with any questions and I'll answer to the best of my ability.

Zero feedback, please send a message prior to bidding.

Thanks, and happy bidding!

Toyota GT86 engineers explored shooting brake and sedan variants, are they still in the cards?

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

According to the Toyota UK blog, engineers for the automaker were so excited developing the GT86 coupe that they investigated producing a whole family of models based on the rear-wheel drive sports car. And at least one engineer - product chief Tetsuya Tada - still hopes it can happen, even if not everyone at Toyota is onboard. Tada: "Actually we tried to do this secretly but the executives found us out. They said: 'What are you doing? Will you please focus on the coupe.'"
Those mooted variants included both a four-door sedan and a shooting brake. Why? Aside from the pure excellence of a lightweight, brilliantly handling hatchback, Toyota was keenly aware of the fact that it may need to spread the cost of development out across several models. Tada says that's part of the reason why it was so easy to create the convertible. The company knew from the outset that a softtop version was in the cards, and built the machine's structure to accommodate having the roof sliced off.
Tada also made mention of the already-announced collaboration between Toyota and BMW. The engineer said that the GT86 was particularly helpful because it demonstrated just how successful a product conceived and designed by two different companies can be. While he didn't say exactly what Toyota and BMW are up to, it's clear the two are looking into a number of possibilities. It's an interesting read with a lot of

Subaru teasing STI surprise for NYC show?

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Subaru is no stranger to the Special Edition car, least of all where its vaunted WRX and STI are concerned. From Spec C to Prodrive to 22B, more than a handful of STI's around the world have been released as limited-run editions, often with stirring results. So, while we were more than a little bit surprised to see that big-wing crop up on the Subaru Twitter page today, we can't say as though its not true to the brand's history.
However, while most of the interesting WRX STI variants have been offered to Europe and Japan only, whatever is wearing that carbon-fiber-lipped wing is set to debut at the New York Auto Show this week.
We don't have a clue as to the precise nature of the car in front of that wing, save to say that it's likely based on the STI. We can guess, however that the extra vertical supports and the use of carbon fiber indicate a higher-performance version than currently exists. Anything from a racing application to some new goodies for the aftermarket are in the realm of possibility.

2015 Subaru Legacy spills out ahead of Chicago

Tue, 04 Feb 2014

Subaru has been one of the industry's hottest automakers, recording record sales month after month. Those handsome figures have come largely on the backs of its crossover lineup, however - models like Forester, Outback and XV Crosstrek have been carrying all the water. The Japanese marque has seen less noteworthy performance out of its midsize sedan, the Legacy, but a new one is slated to be revealed later this week at the Chicago Auto Show, and it hopes to improve the company's family sedan fortunes.
Leaked here in these first photos, the 2015 Legacy picks up some cues from the brash Legacy Concept revealed at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, but it loses some impact and gains a pair of rear doors versus the showcar. There's little new visual ground broken, but the overall look is more harmonious than its balloon-fendered predecessor. As is often the case, it has features that make us think of other cars, but overall, it looks to be a handsome (if conservative) design. We particularly like the sleeker roofline and the bold front grille treatment - the latter will likely serve well as the face of the next Outback.
Subaru has traditionally offered function-over-form interiors, and while the new dashboard remains visually staid, it looks to have picked up a number of nice new features, including improved HVAC controls, a new steering wheel and freshened touchscreen navigation system.
