 2003 Subaru Outback Wagon

Absolutely amazing condition, one owner, female driven, full service history, all service up to date, AND major services complete (timing belt replaced in 2013, both head gaskets replaced in 2013 - same visit).  Brand new spark plugs and spark plug wires (installed last week) new air filter, new cabin air filter, new dashboard lighting, new rear brake pads!  This has been my family's trustworthy daily driver for the past 11 years, and simply needed something bigger.  We are sad to see it go, but are sure it's ready to take care of you for a long time.

Professionally installed tint all around:  32% on driver and passenger, 23% on rear passenger and cargo area/rear window (Sunsational in Bridgeport, PA).  Installed air horns and a genuine Subaru Outback hood/nose protector are also included.

Please feel free to ask any questions - there are LOTS of pictures to hopefully give an indication of this vehicle's terrific condition.  Happy Bidding - and Good Luck!

To note the few imperfections for full disclosure (see pics), there are small scratches near the passenger side foglight and there is a tiny indent on the driver front quarterpanel.  The new plugs and plug wires were installed last week to address a cylinder 3 misfire that was diagnosed after check engine light briefly came on (and is now no longer on).  This car will need a driver side front wheel bearing replacement at some point.

Car is located in Spring City, PA, 19475.

Subaru WRX STI vs. Audi S3 in compact AWD dustup

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

It's not every day that a Subaru and an Audi can be reasonably compared head-to-head; the two brands tend not to compete directly in their respective segments. However, the latest WRX STI and the S3 Sedan offer the perfect chance to find out if the working-class Scooby can beat its upper-crust competitor.
The UK's Auto Express gets behind the wheel of these two all-wheel drive performance sedans, or saloons as the Brits call them. Across the pond, both of them are rated at an identical 296 horsepower, but the Subaru edges out the Four Rings on torque. Like in the US, British buyers have to pay a little more to get the Audi, but it comes with a nicer interior and more brand cachet, if that means anything to you.
The video starts out with a fairly standard road test comparing the two of them back-to-back - all fairly subjective. But then Auto Express takes the trip to the drag strip, and the results there are much more conclusive. There's a definite winner when they cross the line, but you have to scroll down to see which of these turbocharged models with rallying heritage wins out.

Toyota GT86 engineer Tada recounts how sports car came to be

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"

Is the Subaru BRZ STI being teased really only a tS version?

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

Teaser images of a purported Subaru BRZ STI were uncovered last night and sent the internet into a collective state of hysterics. That's not hugely surprising, though, considering the reverence that the BRZ, along with its fraternal twins, the Scion FR-S and Toyota GT86, have garnered from the automotive media. The sole sticking point, really, has been its mere 200 horsepower. People have been chomping at the bit over a higher output version of the sublime rear driver.
Those same people may be in for a disappointment, though. See, the BRZ STI that was teased last night might not be a real STI. Instead, it's looking like it might be a BRZ tS. According to 7Tune.com, the timing of the photos posted on Subaru's website lined up with Subaru's 86 Festival at Fuji Speedway, where the Subaru BRZ tS debuted. Despite wearing STI badges, the tS isn't the full-tilt STI model we've been hoping for. Instead, you can think of the relationship between tS models and STI models as sort of like the difference between a BMW 3 Series M Sport and a BMW M3.
Certainly, the speccing of the tS supports that idea. The engine of the BRZ remains untouched in both tS models, which is one of the primary things we expect a full-bore STI to address. A number of interior and exterior styling items have been added, along with Bilstein suspension pieces and six-pot Brembo brakes. The tS sports two different trim levels, with the higher end using Recaro seats, black alloy wheels, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler. The base tS features silver wheels, standard seats, and all the same suspension and brake upgrades. Adding fuel to the fire that these are not the true STI models is the limited production run - Subaru will only build 750 tS cars.
