This car has been an excellent vehicle but it must go due to having too many vehicles. Please keep in mind that the mileage may vary due to still being driven. The car is AWD and has approximately 5,000 miles on the Hankook all-season tires. The transmission and both differentials were flushed and filled by Valvoline with synthetic fluid one year ago and in the two years I have owned the vehicle I have always used synthetic oil. The brakes still have plenty of life on them and I had Uhaul install a class II hitch with electrical one year ago (the car can easily tow a 5' x 8 ' trailer). I replaced the battery two winters ago along with the spark plugs. I just replaced the serpentine belt and the air filter is changed every 6 months. The front struts were replaced this past summer with KYBs which are the OEM equivalent, and at the same time I replaced the ball joints and tie rod ends. The car comes with two keys and two remotes.
The car is not perfect and has a few small issues. One issue is that the driver side window does not go up or down. I replaced the switch and checked the relay, but the motor has voltage going to it so I suspect the window motor needs replaced. Also, the front driver side spring did not "seat" after replacing the strut which causes it to make a "pop" noise every now and then. This does not cause any mechanical issues and is more of a nuisance but I lack the time to remove the strut assembly and re-seat the spring. Cosmetically....it has a small rock ding in passenger side rear quarter panel and a scuff mark on the rear bumper on the passenger side (caused by backing into the garage). There are no rips or tears in any of the seats but they could use a good steam cleaning. If you are lucky enough to win the car a $500.00 deposit is due within 24 hours via Paypal after the end of the auction. The remainder of the funds are due within 7 days in the form of Cash, Money Order, or Cashiers Check. Buyer is responsible for pick up and if the buyer chooses to have the car shipped, I am flexible to meet the shipping agent when the car is scheduled for pick up. Please let me know if you have any questions. |

Subaru puts Japanese production on pause in the wake of deadly typhoon
Thu, Oct 17 2019Subaru idled its main factory in Gunma, Japan, in the wake of the deadly typhoon that wreaked havoc on the eastern part of the country. The shutdown is tentatively scheduled to last about a week. Located roughly two hours northwest of Tokyo, the Gunma factory fell silent at the end of the morning shift on October 16, according to Automotive News. The facility wasn't directly affected by the typhoon, but some of its suppliers suffered flood damage. "These suppliers are currently working to normalize their operations with our human and material support as well, but we expect some impairment of their supply of automotive components and parts to Subaru," the firm said in a statement. It didn't name the suppliers, and it didn't identify the parts they make, but it added production should resume on October 25. About 2,500 cars leave the Gunma factory daily, Automotive News learned, so approximately 11,250 vehicles will be delayed by the shutdown. The BRZ, Forester, Crosstrek, and the WRX all come from the facility. It also makes the Impreza, though American-spec models are built in Indiana, and the Levorg, which isn't sold in the United States. Subaru confirmed to Autoblog its plant in Lafayette isn't affected by the storm, which suggests it sources parts from other suppliers. Subaru is the first car manufacturer to idle a factory in the wake of typhoon Hagibis, which killed 77 people when it touched down on October 12, but it might not be last. Suppliers normally work with several carmakers, and Toyota and Mitsubishi are reportedly keeping a very close eye on their parts inventory. Auto News Plants/Manufacturing Subaru
Subaru weighing Outback vs Forester approach for seven-seater
Tue, Mar 24 2015Subaru is gearing up for a return to the seven-seat crossover segment, and it's focusing the new model on the US market, but just which approach it will take has yet to be decided. One possibility, according to Automotive News, would be to position it as a larger counterpart to the Outback wagon, with rugged off-road styling. The other would be to sell it as a big brother to the Forester, with cleaner styling. One thing Subaru most definitely does not want to repeat is the Tribeca fiasco, so we wouldn't expect the new model to carry that same nameplate. Introduced in 2006, the Tribeca's divisive front-end styling kept it from being a serious player, and it underwent a facelift only two years later. It was withdrawn from the market altogether after 2014. The company had targeted moving 36,000 units of the Tribeca each year, but sold fewer than 2,800 in America in 2011, barely over 2,000 in 2012, less than 1,600 in 2013 and just a few hundred in 2014. The new seven-seat crossover will go after the likes of the Toyota Highlander, Nissan Pathfinder and new Honda Pilot among three-row Japanese crossovers. Like those rivals, it will be built in the US for the US market – namely at Subaru's assembly plant in Indiana, the same state where the Highlander is produced. The new crossover's arrival will, according to reports, mean that the Levorg wagon offered in Japan and Europe won't be offered Stateside. Related Video:
Best. Year. Ever. Subaru breaks yearly and monthly sales records in 2017
Wed, Jan 3 2018After a generally good sales year for most car manufacturers, one company had a spectacular year: Subaru. The company reported with its end-of-year sales that 2017 was it's best sales year of all time. The total was 647,956 vehicles sold over the 12 months. Not only that, but December was also the best month of sales the company has ever seen with 63,342 cars sold. That's nearly 10 percent of the annual sales in one month. As far as individual models go, the Impreza and Crosstrek each had their best month in December and 2017 was each model's best year. The Impreza's year was especially impressive with sales jumping more than 55 percent compared with 2016. It was also the best year for Outback. Subaru credits some of its strong December to its "Share the Love" promotion that donated $250 of each new car purchase to one of a selection of charities. But a big part of Subaru's sales success has to be due to the fact that most of its products are in the hottest car market around: crossovers. The fact that its products are highly competitive against other similar vehicles certainly helps too. This is partly evident by the fact that year-to-year, every crossover model with the exception of the aging Forester saw a sales increase. Meanwhile, every traditional car (Legacy, WRX/STI and BRZ) with the exception of the redesigned Impreza had lower sales for the year. So if you ever wonder why companies aren't racing to release new sedans and coupes, this is why. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
