1997 Subaru Legacy GT 19X.XXX on the odometer (120,000 miles roughly) 5MT Right Hand Drive For sale is my highly modified Subaru Legacy GT. It has been converted to RHD and swapped with a JDM twin-turbo GT-B motor by ECS performance located in Windsor Locks, CT. This has been a blast to own and surely turns heads wherever it goes. The modifications are as stated below. Modifications EJ20R twin-turbo engine (rebuild 20k ago with new piston rings and brearings)(Factory forged engine has lots of piston slap) RHD firewall conversion Full harness and dash swap from a 97 GT-B legacy Walbro fuel pump K&N drop-in filter GT-B 4.44 5-speed transmission with RA MLSD rear differential 04 Forester XT F+R brakes Fujitsubu axleback exhaust GT-B front bumper GT-B fenders GT-B headlights GT-B hood GT-B front grill Version 3/4 STi seats GT-B rear seats and door cards 02-04 WRX stock alloys JDM front aero guards GT-B replica lip Rear bumper lip Aftermarket spoiler Coilovers This car has been on ECS’s mustang dyno where it put down 240whp/202wtq on its stock setup. I’ve loved this car for a couple of years now and it’s time to move on and find it a new owner. I have done some work to it since its purchase. The heater core was replaced a year ago. The “magic box” where are the vacuum lines are housed was gone through and all lines were replaced. This car had the usual Subaru rust in the rear quarters that was repaired. I replaced the A/C condenser as well. This is a quick car with a sunroof, functional A/C, and rides surprisingly well for being on coilovers. THIS IS A OBD1 ENGINE SWAP INTO A OBD2 CAR, THEREFOR REG/INSPECTION IT IN SOME STATES MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE AS IT DOES NOT HAVE A WORKING OBD2 PORT, IN MASS 15 YEARS OR OLDER IS SAFTEY ONLY SO I HAD NO ISSUES, WITH THE MODS THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD IS IS AS A "TRACK" CAR THAT COMES WITH A CLEAN TITLE IF YOU CHOOSE TO GET IT ON THE ROAD!!!! The bad, throw-out or pilot bearing makes minor noise in netural with clutch out, has done this for years and has not gotten any worse, also some rust is starting under the rockers that could use some attention in the future, I drive the regular and I trust it is a solid car, just to many projects this has to move on, I would pefer a local sale so they can see the car before getting it , but I would assist a shipper load it if it was all scheduled by the buyer. this is quite the car so if you have any questions feel free to email me I can give ya a call and discuss the car with ya further !! |

'Kingsman' Subaru WRX isn't your typical rear-engined stunt car
Thu, Nov 22 2018The Subaru WRX has been a hot choice for movie cars as of late. The most popular is the rear-wheel-drive Subie from " Baby Driver," of which two stunt car examples have been sold off. But a lesser known appearance was in the movie "Kingsman: The Secret Service." Now the car used in that film is up for sale, and it's got a custom twist we've never really seen before. As the photos show, this is no ordinary WRX. Although the exterior looks like any other car, the secrets are held within. Open the trunk and there lies the engine. Look inside the cabin and there are not one, but two separate steering wheels: one in the normal right-hand-drive spot for a U.K. car, the other in the rear passenger-side seat. For those who have seen the movie (if you haven't, we recommend it), it should have clicked by now why the car has this setup. For those who haven't, there is a fairly simple explanation. In one of the scenes, the main character is seen escaping the police by driving the car backward through a narrow street at a high rate of speed. Rather than trying to accomplish this task by actually driving the car backward, the movie makers apparently cut off the body of the WRX, flipped it 180 degrees, and reattached it. So, the steering wheel that appears to be in the normal spot is actually an imposter added after the fact. The real driver's seat, steering wheel, six-speed gearbox and pedals are the ones seen in the rear seat facing the trunk. According to the seller, there are several other additions to the car, which is claimed to be an STI Spec D. The seller says the engine has several upgrades to the engine, as well as a welded-in roll cage. The car apparently does not start with the key but was bump started and ran okay. Though listed on eBay, this is not an auction. The seller has posted the car, which has 67,000 miles on it, for GBP5,950.00 (about $7,605). He also claims to have two other Subarus that were used in the movie. This would be a perfect car to charge for appearances at local events and parades. Just beware of the gremlins that are sure to pop up. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. 2020 Subaru Outback teased, will be all-new at the New York Auto Show
Wed, Apr 10 2019The 2020 Subaru Outback is officially confirmed for a debut at the New York International Auto Show, and Subaru says it's going to be "all-new." That's all the official information we have to go on at this point, but Subaru released a teaser photo to give us a glimpse of the tall, rugged wagon before the reveal on April 17. We can tell a few differences just from the photo here. The lower bumper surround and foglight design is more compact than the big round lights that sit down there currently. Subaru has changed the side mirror design, adding a bit of flair with chrome on this model. It's tough to tell what the headlight design will look like, but it's certainly a different shape and size than the current units that stretch back further into the fenders. There's even more black plastic cladding on the car now, too. Subaru had plenty of the stuff going up and down the Outback before, but the wheel arch molding was optional. It's unclear whether it's going to remain that way or be the only way it comes now. One small thing we noticed was the location of the "Outback" designation in the body cladding — it moved from being under the front door to under the rear door. Subaru appears to be offering a new black wheel option that we see on this car, as well. The Outback last received a significant update for the 2018 model year. That car was also revealed at NYIAS, but it was a relatively minor update compared to what's coming. We'll expect to see a lot of the same features as what was revealed in the new 2020 Legacy at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this year. That car went way upscale with its interior design, moved to Subaru's Global Platform, dropped the flat six for a turbo flat-four and features a massive 11.6-inch touchscreen. It's no surprise we're seeing the new Outback so soon after the Legacy update, as Subaru has traditionally updated the two vehicles this way.
Forgotten 1990s Subaru showroom is still full of new ghost Imprezas
Thu, Feb 8 2018Every now and then, stories and photos surface of car dealerships simply forgotten by time. Sometimes it's due to the dealer in question ceasing trading, for one reason or another, sometimes it's because of political tensions in the area — like with the Cypriot Toyota dealership which still has 1970s J-tin laying dormant, ravaged by opportunistic parts hunters. Years ago, photos appeared of a complete, 150-car, zero-miles Chrysler Neon shipment in Singapore. And no matter what the backstory, it's always fascinating to see completely everyday cars remaining undriven for decades, as if they were frozen in time while the world revolved around them. How about these as-new, unregistered, first generation Subaru Imprezas? Somewhere on the island of Malta in the Mediterranean, as reported by CarsAddition.com, there's a forgotten Subaru dealership with new mid-1990s stock still on the showroom floor. Judging by the unpainted bumpers and steel wheels, the right-hand-drive cars on display are absolute base spec, with likely the 90-horsepower 1.6 flat-four powering just their front wheels. They are almost all white, which adds to the appliance appearance. A couple Justy 4WD hatchbacks keep the Impreza saloons and wagons company, along with some Kei car vans and pickups. But the star of the showroom is the still-dazzling, late-'80s XT Turbo 4WD coupe, which has probably had been there originally to draw attention. It still does, and it's likely barely used. There are Subaru posters on the walls, all faded to blue, depicting Subaru's rally program and Leone/Loyale models which were originally replaced by the rounder Impreza in 1992. It's likely that all other base-model, first-generation Imprezas ever made have faced a quarter of a century of careless use, dents and rust. They were no fancier than a similarly priced Corolla, and it's unlikely any others have been preserved in a condition anywhere near these. Were the dealership owner ever to sell these, they would need complete overhauling after sitting for 25 years with their factory liquids and lubricants, but something tells me they won't leave the place anytime soon. It's unclear what the story behind this seemingly forgotten dealership is. CarsAddiction.com, the source for these photos, says it's probably due to a competing Maltese Subaru dealer upstaging this one, and the cars' era places them in the time of the 1990s economic downturn, which might have thrown a spanner in the works for this "Fuji" dealer.
