Power 06 STI VF39 Turbo (40,000 miles) 06 STI TMIC, (40,000) miles 12mm Oil pump, Injector Dynamics 1000 cc Injectors, deatschwerks 65c Fuel pump, TGV deletes, Killer B Ultimate pickup and windage tray, new oil pan (to run the new setup) 3” turbo back Magnaflow Exhaust (completely catless), Grimspeed electronic boost controller, AEM wideband Aluminum Skid Plate , K&N Typhoon Intake , Turbo XS 100% recirc BPV , Mishimoto alum radiator , all ap silicone hoses, hard inlet , Hid lights on Stock lamp assembly All led lights ext and interior , No window tint. paint is not in the greatest shape Clear is flaking on the rear bumper and wing and on the hood in about a 10" spot which is common for this year. Title is REBUILT I went through all the necessary steps to title it anywhere so you won't have to mess with it. The clear coming off and a few scratches on the body. front bumper is chipped quite a bit. Rear pass door has a little damage. ABS light is on . Airbag light comes on sporadically. Check engine light is on due to the tune. (nothing is wrong) 2 Chips in the front windshield A few places the exterior glass is scratched Interior The interior is average for the mileage. Drivers seat has 2 burn holes in it. 2015 Subaru Legacy, Outback crash their way to IIHS Top Safety Pick+ ratings [w/video]
Wed, 20 Aug 2014The Subaru Legacy and Outback are the latest vehicles to be awarded the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's most prestigious safety title, Top Safety Pick+.
As we've explained many times before, this only applies vehicles that can score an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating on the five IIHS crash tests and earn at least a "Basic" rating for crash prevention systems.
In the Legacy's case, it totally aced IIHS's testing, earning "Good" scores on the small overlap, front moderate overlap, side impact, roof crush and rear impact tests, while also bringing home the top "Superior" rating for its optional EyeSight system.
Subaru SVX to be resurrected with hybrid power?
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Salt. Get the salt. A new report out of Australia is claiming that Subaru is working on a new SVX. Yes, seriously.
Now, this is not feasible for a pair of huge reasons. First, the demand for a two-door Subaru, as we've seen with the BRZ, has not been tremendous. Second, the original SVX was a pretty horrible seller. Could the world be ready for a revival, though?
According to an unnamed source that spoke to Motoring.com.au, the reborn SVX will be based on the Viziv 2 Concept that was shown at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but it will be a considerably more aggressive design, arriving as a low, wide shooting brake. According to the Aussies, the reborn SVX would ride on a new Subaru Global Platform, which will underpin the next-generation Tribeca, because of that platform's support for hybridization.
Subaru uses a mime and a toy car to explain why it loves the boxer engine
Wed, 17 Apr 2013I will freely admit to struggling with why Subaru continues to stubbornly employ a boxer engine design while so few other automakers do the same. After all, with twice the number of cylinder heads and cams as a traditional inline four-cylinder engine, a boxer four is more complex, more expensive to manufacture and more cumbersome to service with few tangible benefits. Until recently, the company's engines struggled to meet the fuel economy numbers of its competitors while offering no real boon in horsepower or torque. Subaru seems to recognize I'm not the only one scratching my head.
In order to help us non-believers understand what's what, the company has employed a pair of mimes, a toy car and a few clay engines to demonstrate the folly of every other automaker on the planet. Subaru says the boxer offers up a lower center of gravity than either an inline four-cylinder engine or a V6, which I will gladly concede. The company also says the design offers up smoother operation.
I'll offer just two counterpoints here. First, an engine with a low center of gravity is excellent, but when vehicles like the Forester, XV Crosstrek and Outback boast more ground clearance than most mainstream SUVs, that argument flies out the window. Second, anyone who's spent any amount of time behind the wheel of a vehicle equipped with an inline four and then proceeded to move into one propelled by a boxer can tell you the latter has all of the idling manners of a small tractor.
