2005 Subaru Impreza Wrx Sti Sedan 4-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States

I am selling my 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan in Aspen White (one of the rarest and most in-demand colors for the STI). This car was originally purchased with 17k miles on it and I am the second owner. The first owner left the car completely 100% stock and I added all of the upgrades you see below. I have invested over $35,000 into this car on top of the price of the car itself. All of the parts including the new engine were professionally installed by Dyno-Comp in the North Scottsdale airpark, along with the tuning completed by Richard Garcia (owner of Dyno-Comp). The new engine is a 2.5L Cosworth (P/N: SB8005) short block assembled by Cosworth USA in California. The engine has 5,000 miles on it to complete the break in procedure; Cosworth recommends at least 3,500 but the more the better! This new engine has yet to see its full potential and is ready for the 500awhp (700 flywheel horsepower) it will produce on 100 octane race gas! The car is currently tuned on 91 octane for around 400awhp (550 flywheel horsepower). All oil changes have been completed on time using Valvoline 20W50 VR1 Conventional Racing motor oil. The Tein Flex Type coil overs are also brand-new, installed before the engine. Goodyear Eagle F1 tires have a lot of tread remaining. If you are looking for a car with no expense spared and reliable enough to get you from point A to point B everyday then this is the car for you! The question always arises as to why I am selling, so I will just post it. Need a car that gets better gas mileage for a new career path, and looking to get something bigger such as a truck. (NO TRADES!) I will be sad to leave this freshly built motor, but its time to move on to something else. I will continue to drive this car until it is sold so the miles will slowly increase. Toyota GT86 engineers explored shooting brake and sedan variants, are they still in the cards?
Wed, 13 Mar 2013According to the Toyota UK blog, engineers for the automaker were so excited developing the GT86 coupe that they investigated producing a whole family of models based on the rear-wheel drive sports car. And at least one engineer - product chief Tetsuya Tada - still hopes it can happen, even if not everyone at Toyota is onboard. Tada: "Actually we tried to do this secretly but the executives found us out. They said: 'What are you doing? Will you please focus on the coupe.'"
Those mooted variants included both a four-door sedan and a shooting brake. Why? Aside from the pure excellence of a lightweight, brilliantly handling hatchback, Toyota was keenly aware of the fact that it may need to spread the cost of development out across several models. Tada says that's part of the reason why it was so easy to create the convertible. The company knew from the outset that a softtop version was in the cards, and built the machine's structure to accommodate having the roof sliced off.
Tada also made mention of the already-announced collaboration between Toyota and BMW. The engineer said that the GT86 was particularly helpful because it demonstrated just how successful a product conceived and designed by two different companies can be. While he didn't say exactly what Toyota and BMW are up to, it's clear the two are looking into a number of possibilities. It's an interesting read with a lot of
Motor Trend reveals 2016 Chevy Camaro as Car of the Year
Tue, Nov 17 2015The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro beat some very steep competition to earn the Golden Calipers as Motor Trend's Car of the Year. The magazine praised the sixth generation's fantastic engines, great handling, and lighter platform. "Our 2016 Car of the Year, the Chevrolet Camaro, is one of the finest driving vehicles in the world at any price," editor-in-chief Edward Loh said, "though its price is well within reach of the average consumer." The Camaro conquered some high-performance challengers to take the victory, including the Audi TT, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Mercedes AMG GT S. It also bested technologically cutting-edge vehicles like the BMW 7 Series and Toyota Mirai. The latest Honda Civic rounded out the competition. To earn the prestigious award, nine judges evaluated the finalists in six categories: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. The Volkswagen Golf won last year. In an engaging story on Motor Trend's website, it explains what a revelation the new coupe is and that they consider the model the best production pony car ever. The piece is well worth a read. Motor Trend also handed out the Person of the Year honor to Subaru of America President and Chief Operating Officer Thomas Doll. It praised him for the Japanese brand's massive success in the US like tripling deliveries since 2007. "By any measure, the business Tom Doll leads is an outstanding success," editor-at-large Angus MacKenzie said. "And he is the person whose unique vision and quiet leadership made it happen." 2015-18 Subaru Foresters recalled because front airbag may not deploy
Mon, Oct 14 2019Subaru is recalling 366,282 Foresters from model years 2015-18 because the front passenger airbag may not go off when it should during a crash. The problem stems from Subaru’s “Occupant Detection System,” which may not be able to detect a person sitting in the seat due to a loose connection. ThereÂ’s an electrical connection under the passenger seat that may loosen over time, according to Subaru. That connection is necessary for the detection system to function. Subaru says that only cars equipped with heated front seats are subject to this recall, as those are the only ones equipped with the specific harness where this would be possible. If your Forester is experiencing this problem, Subaru says you may see the “airbag warning” light illuminate on your dash. The “Passenger airbag off” indicator will also be illuminated, so that makes two different lights to check to see if your airbag is working. In turn, the seat wonÂ’t recognize the presence of a person in the front passenger seat, and the airbag may not deploy in a crash. Subaru will inspect the vehicles it recalls and replace the sensor mat harness if necessary. If you own a 2015-2018 Forester with heated front seats, look out for a note in the mail informing you of a recall. YouÂ’ll need to take the car in to the dealer, where the recall work will be done free of charge. As of now, Subaru isnÂ’t aware of any injuries or fatalities associated with this problem.
