2004 Subaru Wrx Sti World Rally Blue (great Condition) on 2040-cars
Plainfield, Connecticut, United States
Unfortunately i'm parting ways with my baby because i can no longer
afford her. Currently is my daily driver with 115,5xx miles on the
chassis. Due to negligence from the previous owner, i had to buy a newer
engine and turbo. The new turbo is a blouch 16g-xt with just over
25000 miles. The newer engine was bought off of a totaled 2004 sti with
35,000 miles, it currently has just over 60,000 miles on it. It has an
open source pro tune done by Wicked Innovation. I just had an oil
change done less than 1,000 miles ago which is the 3rd oil change since
the engine was tuned. I got very basic upgrades done cobb short ram
intake, invidia catless dp going into spt catback. Its got a new brake
package with just over 35,000 miles EBC slotted rotors with hawk carbon
ceramic brake pads. Just bought brand new all weather tires,
those currently have just under 1,000 miles also. since i've owned
this car i've kept it in pristine condition, other than the blown turbo
and failed oil pump the car has run flawlessly. other than the typical
Subaru snow fun, i have not done anything to abuse the car, no
burnouts, clutch dumps or anything else that would cause harm to the
vehicle.asking price is 14,300. i'm flexible with the price but i know
what the car is worth and it needs to go to a good home. according to
Kelly blue book the car is worth more but due to financial issues the
car needs to go as quick as possible.

Bronco, Yukon, Hummer and a CES recap | Autoblog Podcast #610
Fri, Jan 17 2020In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and Assistant Editor Zac Palmer. They kick things off by talking about recent news, including the revival of the Hummer name as an electric pickup, revealing Ford Bronco spy shots and the unveiling of the 2021 GMC Yukon. Then Zac tells about his time in Las Vegas attending CES 2020. They talk about the cars they've been driving: a JCW-tuned Mini Clubman, the long-term Subaru Forester with its new gold wheels, a Volvo S60 PHEV that's been added to the long-term fleet, and a Camry Hybrid. Last, but not least, they help a listener decide how to spend his money on a sports car. Subaru uses a mime and a toy car to explain why it loves the boxer engine
Wed, 17 Apr 2013I will freely admit to struggling with why Subaru continues to stubbornly employ a boxer engine design while so few other automakers do the same. After all, with twice the number of cylinder heads and cams as a traditional inline four-cylinder engine, a boxer four is more complex, more expensive to manufacture and more cumbersome to service with few tangible benefits. Until recently, the company's engines struggled to meet the fuel economy numbers of its competitors while offering no real boon in horsepower or torque. Subaru seems to recognize I'm not the only one scratching my head.
In order to help us non-believers understand what's what, the company has employed a pair of mimes, a toy car and a few clay engines to demonstrate the folly of every other automaker on the planet. Subaru says the boxer offers up a lower center of gravity than either an inline four-cylinder engine or a V6, which I will gladly concede. The company also says the design offers up smoother operation.
I'll offer just two counterpoints here. First, an engine with a low center of gravity is excellent, but when vehicles like the Forester, XV Crosstrek and Outback boast more ground clearance than most mainstream SUVs, that argument flies out the window. Second, anyone who's spent any amount of time behind the wheel of a vehicle equipped with an inline four and then proceeded to move into one propelled by a boxer can tell you the latter has all of the idling manners of a small tractor. Check out the video below to see for yourself.
Climb to the Clouds returning thanks to Subaru title sponsorship [w/video]
Wed, 31 Jul 2013The Mt. Washington Hillclimb, otherwise known as the Climb to the Clouds, hasn't been done since 2011. That year, Subaru Rally Team USA driver David Higgins set a new record for the event first held in 1904, running the 7.6-mile vertiginous course in 6:11.54. The race will be return in 2014 with the help of that very carmaker, Subaru of America having stepped in to the title sponsor role for what will be the Subaru Mt. Washington Hillclimb.
Taking place from June 26-29, 75 modern and vintage cars will spend three days racing up the 6,288-foot-high mountain. It's not as long nor as high as Pikes Peak, but it does have something that the Colorado competition doesn't: gravel; about 13 percent of the Mt. Washington Carriage Road still hasn't been paved.
If you want to know what a record-breaking run up the northeast's highest peak looks like, check out Higgins behind the wheel in the video below.
