Selling NO RESERVE, this car will sell to the highest bidder and is not advertised anywhere else. We acquired this RS from a new Subaru store where it was traded in on a new STI. The car is rusty but is solid underneath and would make a great rallycross project or a good donor for parts. Please look at the pictures to get the best description of the vehicles physical condition. Mechanically the car runs and drives great. It will pass NYS inspection with only a couple items - rear tires are needing replacement, check engine light on for upstream o2 sensor, front right corner lense is cracked. The AC compressor is bad and has no belt on currently. The timing belt, water pump, and clutch were all done at 183k. The engine runs and pulls strong but does make some noise as most Subaru's do. It seems to be acceptable but I am not guaranteeing anything. I have put a couple hundred miles on the car without any problems. You shouldn't have any problem driving this car home but I'd still recommend trailering it.

As for modifications, the car has an aftermarket header to a custom exhaust, B&M short shifter (shifts very nice), GR2 struts in all four corners, cd player, trailer hitch.

Subaru Viziv Future Concept conceptualizes the future

Well, here's a rugged little thing. It's the latest in Subaru's Viziv series of concepts, unimaginatively called the Viziv Future Concept. But never mind the name, what we have here is a forward-thinking SUV that packs a new hybrid powertrain, downsized turbo engine, and reworked version of Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. That said, there's little to learn about these reworked systems, with Subaru's own press blast saying a whole lot of nothing about the new technologies found within the Viziv. Only the updated AWD system gets an explanation, with Subaru saying the "propeller shaft has been eliminated by mounting the single motor concentrically on the rear axle in a compact layout. In addition to AWD capabilities, a flat floor is realized for an expansive, comfortable interior space." What does the Viziv mean for Subaru? It's hard to say. Initially, this concept looks like a neat take on a next-generation Forester, but let's also remember that Subaru plans to re-join the three-row SUV segment soon with a proper replacement for the Tribeca. In any case, it's a tough-looking thing, and something we could easily see fitting in with Subaru's range of rugged all-rounders. Subaru teasing STI surprise for NYC show?

Subaru is no stranger to the Special Edition car, least of all where its vaunted WRX and STI are concerned. From Spec C to Prodrive to 22B, more than a handful of STI's around the world have been released as limited-run editions, often with stirring results. So, while we were more than a little bit surprised to see that big-wing crop up on the Subaru Twitter page today, we can't say as though its not true to the brand's history.
However, while most of the interesting WRX STI variants have been offered to Europe and Japan only, whatever is wearing that carbon-fiber-lipped wing is set to debut at the New York Auto Show this week.
We don't have a clue as to the precise nature of the car in front of that wing, save to say that it's likely based on the STI. We can guess, however that the extra vertical supports and the use of carbon fiber indicate a higher-performance version than currently exists. Anything from a racing application to some new goodies for the aftermarket are in the realm of possibility.
