As you'll see in the pictures, the person who owned loved it and maintained with pride. The vehicle does have a ticking noise in the engine and because of this, it will be sold AS-IS No Warranty. We do not know what the noise is or how involved it may be to fix the problem. The fact is though, this is a known issue for these vehicles and most people do not fix the issue, instead they just continue to drive them. The ticking noise does not seem to make any difference with performance. There are also No Lights on the dash stating there is an issue either. Unless you get out of the vehicle and honestly listen for the noise, you would never know it.... I wanted to be honest though and disclose the only issue we could find. Subaru reveals WRX STI racecar for 24 Hours of N"urburgring [w/video]
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Subaru has announced that it will be running a race-spec version of the upcoming WRX STI in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in June. The 2014 race will mark the seventh year in a row that Subaru has campaigned a car at the day-long Ring race, but this will be the first race outing for the new WRX STI, which isn't set to debut until next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
Subaru will be in the SP3T class, for turbocharged engines displacing 1.75 to 2.0 liters, and is targeting its third class win, after finishing second last year. To do that, it'll be going toe-to-toe with racing versions of cars from Audi, Volkswagen and Seat.
The team will be led by Hideharu Tatsumi, who was responsible for last year's team. Drivers will include Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki, while another pair of European drivers will be announced at a later date.
2013 Subaru Legacy and Outback recalled over potential steering loss
Wed, 15 May 2013Subaru today announced a recall that affects 5,379 Legacy sedan and Outback wagon models in the United States. All of the affected 2013 model-year vehicles were built between February 15 and June 15 of 2012.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "the inner and outer shafts of the steering column assembly may become disengaged from one another" in these vehicles. If that happens, the driver can lose the ability to steer the vehicle, which could obviously lead to all sorts of harmful things.
Subaru will notify owners of the problem, and affected models will have their steering columns replaced at dealerships, free of charge. Scroll down for the official NHSTA report.
Subaru Impreza shows off 360-degree passing technique
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Leave it to a Subaru WRX to find a new way to improve the art of passing. This dash cam vid shows a white WRX pirouetting past our recording car and somehow straightening out before either sliding off the road or slamming into the car ahead. If this were a standard move in rally racing, the WRC would be bigger than NASCAR.
Like most dash cam vids, we don't know where it was shot (Russia's always a good bet) or what the circumstances were (did the driver spin on purpose or was the 360-degree slide accidental?), but the remarkable feat was caught on camera and uploaded to YouTube, preserving it for an Internet eternity.
