THIS CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN STORAGE FOR 6 OR 7 MONTHS. IT WAS A RELATIVES CAR WHO LOST HER STORAGE LOCKER. IT WAS COVERED UP AND FULL OF BOXES IN IT AND ON TOP OF IT. ALL OF THE TIRES WERE LOW ON AIR, THEY ALL HOLD AIR NOW. IT HAD A SPOT OF OIL LEAK ON THE GROUND ABOUT 3"s AROUND. ALL FLUIDS WERE UP TO NORMAL, OIL NEEDED A HALF QUART. I DROVE IT HOME ABOUT 5 MILES AND IT DROVE GOOD, SHIFTED GOOD. AT IDLE IT SHAKES A LITTLE BUT MAY JUST NEED DRIVEN OR SOMEONE SAID IT MAY HAVE OLD GAS. I AM OFFERING THIS AT NO RESERVE BECAUSE I DO NOT NEED THE VEHICLE. WITH A LITTLE TLC THIS COULD MAKE SOMEONE A NICE ALL WHEEL DRIVE BEFORE WINTER.
ALL OF THE POWER EQUIPTMENT WORKS CORRECTLY EXCEPT I DID NOT CHECK THE A/C OR CRUISE CONTROL. ALL LIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, AND FOG LIGHTS WORK CORRECTLY. THIS CAR WILL NOT BE DRIVEN WHILE ON EBAY AND WILL BE IN MY GARAGE UNTIL THE AUCTION ENDS. CLEAR TITLE IN HAND. SOLD AS IS. WIN IT AND DRIVE IT HOME.

Day 2: We made it to Patagonia | Subarus in South America
Wed, Feb 17 2016We made it. After Monday's layover in Buenos Aires on Tuesday afternoon, Chris McGraw and I landed in El Calafate, Argentina – right smack in the middle of Patagonia. The Andes mountains were to our west, open plains and lakes cut by glaciers to our east. McGraw and I settled inside a Subaru Outback, and with big smiles on our faces, high-fived as I said the words, "Dude... We're in f*cking Patagonia." Our official adventure starts today, where we're driving a number of Subaru crossovers on all sorts of terrain, visiting glaciers that are larger than most American cities, and taking in some of the most scenic landscape I've ever laid eyes on. Crosstreks, Foresters, and Outbacks will get us to our next destination, and we'll have a full recap of the day's activities for you tomorrow morning. Be sure to follow along with us on social media – Autoblog's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram will provide more insights into our journey. Of course, both Chris and I will be posting individual impressions from the journey, so follow us, too (@stevenewing and @thequikdraw). In the meantime, get an idea of our epic surroundings in the video above.
Subaru BRZ next generation will be sold in U.S. but maybe nowhere else
Mon, Nov 9 2020A new reports says that Subaru has "no plans" to launch its upcoming second-generation BRZ in Europe. If true, that means the 100-unit Final Edition announced earlier this year for the German market is truly the final edition for the Old World. Furthermore, according to the UK's Autocar, which reported the news, the BRZ "will be a U.S.-only model." That would indicate that even Subaru's home market of Japan would be denied access to the lightweight sports coupe, which seems unlikely. Toyota has been very tight-lipped about its own 86 version, so it's not clear which markets the BRZ's twin would be sold in. Though the article doesn't say why the BRZ won't be available in Europe, the Toyota 86 and Supra's chief engineer Tetsuya Tada may have given a clue. In a 2019 interview at the Supra's U.S. launch, he revealed that one reason he partnered with BMW was because he wanted the Supra to be a truly global sports car. Given the rapid tightening of safety and emissions regulations in various markets around the world, if Toyota were to have built its own engines and platforms from scratch, development would have taken too long. "If we had gone that route, the car would not be done, even today [in May 2019]. It wouldn’t be out for at least a few more years. The problem is, you canÂ’t sell a car like I showed you today in 2021." It looks like that may have been a prescient move. The BRZ is presumed to share a 2.4-liter boxer four with the Ascent and 2020 Outback, neither of which is sold in Europe. It's predicted to have 220 horsepower and retain its rear-wheel-drive layout. Sadly, it looks as if the Supra will be Toyota's last global sports car model. The 2021 BRZ will be revealed November 18.
Here's the story with the Chicken Tax
Fri, Dec 12 2014Quiz America's auto enthusiasts about the vehicles they most want to see in the US market, and for every one that doesn't respond with a French hot hatchback or some diesel-powered offering, there'd be at least three that ask for some small, imported pickup truck. That won't happen, though, and we have the Chicken Tax to thank. This damnable bit of legislation affixes a 25-percent tariff to any light truck not built in the United States. That's why Honda, Toyota and Nissan build all their trucks in the United States, and it's also why pickups like the foreign-built Volkswagen Amarok, shown above, or the long-rumored Mahindra pickup aren't offered here. Wired has the story on the roots of the Chicken Tax, including how one Japanese manufacturer got around it and even delivered a vehicle to one of our country's presidents. Head over and check it out.
