1999 Subaru Forester L
All Wheel Drive Automatic transmission
1616xx miles
All power options and leather interior
New alternator, knock sensor, rear oxygen sensor

I would say this car is in above average condition considering the age and mileage. It is not perfect however, as it has its fair share of normal wear... door dings, scratches, rock chips in front, etc.. but the paint is nice and shines. The interior is clean, leather is nice and soft, but the driver seat does show some wear. some light cracking and a few seam separations.

This Forester runs and drives well, no slips or any problems with the automatic transmission. No smoking or overheating. One of the rear tires is getting near to needing replacement, but still has a couple thousand left in it. Others have a decent amount of tread left. The car has a pioneer CD player with an AUX input wire for your phone/mp3 player, etc. Oil change is not due for another 1500 or so miles. transmission fluid looks fresh. Rear sway bar link bushings may need replacing soon, minor thing. I have personlly driven the car about 200 miles since I have got it.

I am not putting a Buy It Now on the car because every time I do, someone clicks it and doesn't pay. This vehicle is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Vehicle has a new NYS Inspection as of 9/3/13. I am a registered NYS Retail dealer, and this vehicle is being sold as so. NYS residents will pay the sales tax to me, and I can transfer your plates, but cannot issue you new plates at this time. Fees for NYS buyers will be as follows: $37 state inspection (NYS fee), $50 title (NYS fee), $10 registration transfer (NYS fee), $75 dealer registration processing fee (dealer fee covering the process of handling the DMV paperwork).  If you chose to process your own registration, the only fee that will apply is the $37 state inspection and of course sales tax.  If you are an out of state buyer, there will be no fees or tax collected.

If you are not planning to pick this car up locally, yourself, in person, you must contact me prior to bidding to let me know your situation. I do not want to have to re-list this vehicle due to non paying bidders, and will certainly process the ebay reporting process to anyone who does not complete the transaction.

PayPal deposit of $250 due upon auction end. Balance due within 3 days please. Cash or certified funds only. No international buyers/scams unless you plan to pay for the car in cash and handle your pick up and shipping. I have no problem shipping a car but it is on the buyer to set up and pay for.

Ask all questions prior to bidding, and feel free to contact me if you would like to come see the car in person (by appointment only). If you don't ask, I don't want to hear about it when you pick up the car. I believe I have fully and sufficiently described the car. There is no warranty provided as the car has over 100,000 miles. It is however guaranteed to be road worthy and in good mechanical order overall.

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Subaru XT

Mon, Aug 29 2016

Back in the 1980s, Subaru decided that the futuristic-looking, gadget-packed Alcyone would go over well in North America, and so the XT became available for the 1985 through model years. They were reasonably popular in California, and I saw this discarded example awaiting its fate in a Los Angeles wrecking yard. Because the boxer engine in the XT was so low, the car could have an extreme wedge-shaped body and a very low coefficient of drag. Inside, an asymmetrical steering wheel, gearshift that looked like it had been torn from the cockpit of a Mitsubishi F2, and Mars Base-style controls made Toyotas and Hondas of the era look staid and sensible. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. When you adjusted the tilt steering wheel, the instrument cluster moved with it. If you were really serious, you could get an XT with a video-game-style digital instrument cluster. You could get an XT Turbo (with 115 horsepower), or an XT6 (with six cylinders and 145 horsepower). Four-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive systems were available on some models for some years. This car here is an ordinary front-wheel-drive XT with naturally-aspirated 90-horse four-cylinder. Not a speck of rust, pretty straight, but nobody was willing to save it. Next stop: the crusher! Related Video: Featured Gallery Junked 1990 Subaru XT View 10 Photos Auto News Subaru

Japan is the only country to get this WRX S4 tS

Tue, Oct 4 2016

Before the Impreza switches to a new platform, Subaru is wringing more limited editions out of the old one. The most recent, the Subaru WRX S4 tS, is a Japan-only special that is based off of the WRX S4 model released a few years ago. Underneath the hood, the WRX S4 tS gets the same modified 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four from the WRX S4 that generates 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The modified engine produces 28 horsepower and 37 pound-feet of torque more than the standard WRX, and is only five horsepower off the turbocharged 2.5-liter Boxer engine in the WRX STI, while making more torque. The handling has been improved thanks to a similar setup to the one on the WRX STI S207, another Japan-only model released last year, that features adjustable DampMatic II front suspension from Bilstein, along with other goodies. The exterior gets 19-inch BBS forged aluminum wheels, red pinstripes on the front grille and rear bumper, and a large front spoiler. On the inside, the WRX S4 tS benefits from Recaro bucket seats and a luminescent speedometer. The sedan is also equipped with Subaru's advanced safety features in the form of EyeSight. Japanese enthusiasts can also choose a more hardcore option with the NBR Challenge Package that commemorates the automaker's victories in the SP3T class of the Nurbrugring 24 Hours in 2015 and 2016. The sportier model gets 19-inch wheels from BBS, a carbon-fiber rear wing, special badging, and a suede-lined steering wheel on the inside. We reached out to Subaru to see if the vehicle would be sold in the US, but the spokesperson refused to comment. With the WRX S4 and the S207 being Japan-only models, we doubt the new limited edition WRX S4 tS would be offered outside of Japan. Related Video:

Editors' Picks May 2022 | Nissan Z, Subaru WRX and Mazda's latest

Tue, Jun 7 2022

This month of Editors' Picks sees us recognize a strong pair of Japanese cars designed for the driving enthusiast. Both having just been totally redesigned, we found their latest versions to be even more satisfying than the last. In addition to the Nissan Z and Subaru WRX getting the nod, Mazda gets similar recognition for its new crossover. The CX-5 is still highly recommended, but we prefer the CX-50 over it at this point. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, here’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in May that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2023 Nissan Z Quick take: Tons of power, excellent handling, a gorgeous design and a supremely affordable price make the Nissan Z a killer sports car proposition. Score: 8.0 What it competes with: Toyota GR Supra, Subaru BRZ, Mazda MX-5 Miata, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro Pros: Powerful twin-turbo V6, excellent handling, pretty design, agreeable pricing Cons: Cramped interior, automatic option is subpar, base trim is sparsely equipped From the editors Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — "I fell for the Z quickly. A new sports car with a dynamite engine, solid manual transmission, very good handling and stunning looks is an instant winner today. We're living in a golden age of Japanese sports cars/sport compacts, and the Z is one of the best options of them all. It should make everyone looking to buy a Toyota GR Supra take pause to consider the Nissan." Associate Editor Byron Hurd — "I was a believer in the Z even when others weren't, so I'm happy that Nissan left most of the formula well enough alone. The new engine makes the Z feel punchier and more alive without giving up all of the high-revving character that made the 3.7-liter V6 an outlier in a space now overrun with turbocharged four-cylinders. Just stick to the manual." In-depth analysis: 2023 Nissan Z First Drive Review: The Z is back again!   2022 Subaru WRX Quick take: The WRX gets big upgrades where it counts, making it better to drive than before. We're not fully sold on the styling, but it's tough to beat if AWD performance is king.
