Listing is for a Classic 1984 Subaru GL 5 door wagon. Great shape for being 30 years old.

Let me start by saying I purchased this vehicle a couple years back. Unfortunaly it was mis-represented to me. I will NOT do the same to anyone interested. Vehicle came from a salt free area. The condition of the vehicle was good, but not as listed. Broken windshield, Very dirty, Bad brakes, Bad shocks and struts, Running rough! But overall solid enough to fix.

Here are the issues I've fixed:

Detailed vehicle in & out. Tighten all interior screws. Exterior removed or repaired trim and moldings.

Replaced front windshield with Factory original

Replaced shocks & struts all around

New front brakes

Oil change &Tune-up (Plugs,wires,filters,etc)

Exhaust replaced

Vehicle NEEDS!

Rear brakes NEED to be done

Rear diff fluid should be changed

Typical Subaru rust around wheel wells and door bottoms

Overall this vehicle is in Solid condition for the age. Tires are in Very good shape. Rust issues are fixable. No rust thru! Under carriage in good condition. Front hood has dents & there are misc. dents on body, but nothing serious. Bumpers shine up well with product. Door jams all look good as well as moldings. Vehicle runs & drives well. Cold blooded even in warm temps. Gets around GREAT in the snow! But does NOT like are bone chilling temps in the winter. Interior is in Very good condition. No cracks in dash. Rear passenger window does NOT work. All others power. 4 speed manual transmission.

This vehicle is in above average condition. Could be in Excellent condition if I had the time. Selling to purchase a newer Suburban for daily use. If you have one, we can deal. Again PLEASE!! ask any questions and I will answer honestly, as I want you to be satisfied with the vehicle. I can help with shipping on my end. Immediate Pay-Pal deposit will be required. Balance payment can be worked out. Thanks for looking!

Plans for 7-seat Subaru Tribeca replacement becoming clearer

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

Subaru is going to have its hands full at the Tokyo Motor Show next week, but while the Cross Sport Design Concept is expected to preview a Tribeca-replacing crossover, this new model could still be at least two years from production. It has already been confirmed that production of the Tribeca will end early next year, but in speaking with Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, the president of Subaru's parent Fuji Heavy Industries, Automotive News is reporting that there will be a lengthy gap between the Tribeca and its eventual replacement.
The next-gen three-row crossover wasn't included in an annual production capacity goal of 500,000 units expected in the US by the end of 2016, so it's likely that we won't see this much-needed CUV until 2017. While the details of this new model aren't known, Yoshinaga told AN that it will be "completely different" from the Tribeca. As we heard back in February, we do expect this seven-passenger crossover to grow in size in order to offer a larger cabin with more third-row space.
Automotive News even mentions that the Tribeca replacement could be based on the existing Subaru Exiga from the Japanese market. That three-row vehicle splits the difference between a minivan and wagon, with swinging doors instead of sliders, and a tall greenhouse.

2015 Subaru WRX STI headed for Detroit, more WRX details leaked

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

The debuts of the 2015 Subaru WRX and the Legacy Concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week are kind of hogging the Subaru spotlight, making it easy to forget that there is a more potent, more aggressive version of the small sedan waiting in the wings. And based on a rumor from Australia, we'll see the sportier WRX STI at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
The report comes from Motoring in Australia, which claims that a more potent version of the WRX will make its debut in the Motor City, and that it will do so with an even 300 horsepower (five fewer than the current STI) and 290 pound-feet of torque (identical to the current car). Aside from the more potent 2.5-liter turbocharged flat four, the STI should boast the regular spread of aesthetic upgrades and suspension, brake, chassis and transmission tweaks.
The standard all-wheel-drive WRX will sprint to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds.

Subaru recalls new Forester over pedal entrapment fears

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

Pedal entrapment and unintended acceleration are hot-button topics these days, so automakers are always staying alert for potential problems. For Subaru and its newly introduced 2014 Forester, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall due to improperly manufactured floor mats that could become an obstruction for the gas, brake or clutch pedals. The good news, of course, is that even if drivers experience this problem, the 2014 Forester comes standard with brake override.
At issue with the floor mats on 10,137 Forester models built between January and March of this year is that the resin material used on the underside of the mats can curl when exposed to heat. If the leading edge of the driver's mat curls enough, it can come in contact with the pedals making acceleration, braking and shifting more difficult - possibly resulting in a crash. To fix the problem, Subaru is replacing the entire set of floor mats in all of the affected units. The official NHTSA recall notice is posted below.
