The 2004 Saturn Vue is the ideal vehicle for anyone that wants an SUV that can get over 20 MPG in the city. INTERIOR: The inside of this All-Wheel Drive SUV looks good. It is a used vehicle of course, but there aren't any rips or tares and the carpet is in good shape too. The radio works like it should and the heat along with A/C does too. The rear has plenty of cargo and I thought it was neat that a cargo divider folds out into crates that can be used to organize. The seats even fold down for MORE cargo is needed. There isn't any offensive odors either. EXTERIOR: The body has no damage and no rust on it. This Saturn looks like it was well maintained throughout its years, most SUV's are scratched and beaten hard because of the off-road. This looks like it was used for the road only. The tires have low tread on them and will need replaced in a couple thousand miles. There doesn't seem to be any clear coat fading like most Saturns. MOTOR/HANDLING: The SUV starts and idles just like it should. There isn't any smoke or knocking. The transmission goes right into gear and the acceleration is all there. The brakes stop the vehicle better than I expected. The suspension is nice and firm but comfortable and the steering is smooth with no noises. The airbag light is on and we do not know why. In my own opinion this is most likely a small sensor somewhere that is not completing the circuit. Any type of SUV is usually expensive to buy and maintain. Saturn is known to last a very long time and remain easy to repair. If this is what your looking for, then stop looking and enter your bid! Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
