1995 Saturn Sl Base Sedan 4-door 1.9l on 2040-cars
Fairfax Station, Virginia, United States
Rebuilt engine w/ max 30K miles, though milage reads much higher. Solid tires(Bridgestone Weatherforce Plus-about 10K miles wear). Makes over 40mpg HWY. Has had a few owners but all my family. Continues to pass inspection to include emissions. After market stereo with USB plug and after market rear speakers. Trunk mount bike rack included. The heater works well after warm up. Manual windows, locks, steering, and breaking. Rear passenger side door replaced from another car of the same model. Doors require new weather sealing. Exterior worn by weather and time. Some rusting on door window frames. A/C compressor is shot. Interior roof cover hangs but has been screwed to hold. Driver side door arm rest damaged. Driver's side seat padding worn flat in places (A seat cover has been placed over the seat for added comfort) Tinting bubbled/pealing from Texas sun. Trunk will only open from driver-side release. It's a beater to be sure, but it runs well and makes over 40mpg to boot.
The car is good to be picked up here at the house and driven to your destination, or if it is easier for you, I can have AAA tow it to any location within 50 miles or so of where I live once paperwork etc. has been completed. |

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
Honda wins Commercial of the Decade, but not for the ad you think [w/VIDEO]
Fri, 18 Dec 2009Honda's Commercial of the Decade: "Grrr" - Click above to watch video
The mad men at Adweek recently voted for the Commercial of the Decade (Super Bowl commercials not included) and Honda took top honors over memorable ads from the last ten years by companies like Nike, Budweiser and Sony. That's not a big surprise considering Honda often puts a huge amount of effort into its on-air spots. However, the Japanese automaker didn't win for the commercial you might have expected: "Cog." Though Honda's famous commercial that breaks down a European Accord Tourer into a Rube Goldberg-esque machine was also a finalist, it was beaten by another Honda commercial called "Grrr" that's narrated by Garrison Keillor of all people. You've probably never seen it, but you can after the jump.
Volkswagen also made the list of finalists, but the particular ad chosen out of all the comical VW ads we've seen was unexpected as well. Most surprising carmaker with a commercial in the finals: Saturn. Who knew...
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
