Hello, starting at 900 bucks for a 900 Turbo convertible, runs EXCELLENT, needs nothing except a few cosmetics.

will post more pics tomorrow, interior, tires, engine. Pick up in Montpelier Vermont

I have an excellent running white Saab convertible 900 Turbo 4 cylinder for sale. I am moving out west and would like to sell it here to buy a motorcycle there. It purrs right along and my mechanic says it will go over 300K. You can trust this car.

good:  starts right up, purrs along, inspected until 8/2014, registered until 5/2014 too, have title but you don't need it. needs nothing. many new parts in last year: starter, alternator, brakes, hoses, new muffler and more.  runs GREAT, never a problem. heat defrost work, .Serviced regularly by Saab mechanic. Most if not ALL receipts. turbo very fast, gets around 24 mpg, 280 miles per tank.  Blue booked at $4,100 from DMV when I registered it last May. but with high miles, probably worth around 2,000 dollars when you register it yourself. Selling it for $1,100 on craigslist, starting here at 900 as I'm flying out in 3 weeks (if I don't sell it, I'm confident and will just drive it) needs nothing and is a very reliable, and cool looking car. summer tires good for another season, studded winter tires are very good. Sony CD player cranks. convertible top works fine, no tears.

not so good: passenger window doesn't roll down (electronic), leather seats are torn, windshield wiper fluid doesn't always work, some rust, but passed inspection for another year easily (8/2014). shifts fine, reverse can be funky if you leave it there too long, but I'll explain that to you. local mechanic knows the car. Emergency brake is soft, was told right side cable is frozen, inexpensive fix, but no need right now. a/c doesn't blow real cold, but works

you can see it in barre from 9-6 or montpelier after that. great reliable, safe car. you will be happy. please no low-ballers, this is a perfect running car and worth every penny.

thanks,

NEVS announces 200 layoffs as it says Saab restart will 'take time'

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

For a fleeting moment a few weeks ago, the news from Saab-owner National Electric Vehicle Sweden appeared almost positive. The company had its reorganization plan approved (a day after it was denied), and the automaker was actually showing a real, running vehicle, albeit one with a top speed of 75 miles per hour. But those tiny crumbs of potential goodness have been swept away because NEVS has announced layoffs of as many as 200 factory employees in September "due to lack of work."
Workers probably shouldn't get too eager to return to the factory either, because company's "decision to re-start production will be further delayed" by an unspecified amount of time, NEVS says in a press release. To begin assembling cars again, the company needs to find long-term funding and a new majority owner. Those seem like two very steep hurdles for the embattled automaker to clear.
Despite not producing cars since May, NEVS still claims it's negotiating with a new owner, possibly Mahindra, but according to Reuters, the Swedish company owes about 400 million kronor ($56 million) to creditors. According to its layoff announcement, getting rid of these workers is one step in the business' reorganization plan to be presented on October 8. Scroll down to read its full release.

Saab begins 9-3 EV pilot production

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

To say that Saab has had a tough time lately would be like saying that it's been a little colder than usual this winter. After General Motors finally gave up and sold it to Spyker in 2010, Saab declared bankruptcy the following year. GM successfully blocked Spyker from selling Saab to Chinese automaker Youngman the following year, but ultimately it ended up in the hands of another Chinese consortium called NEVS. Standing as it does for National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owners promised not only to restart production of the long-suffering 9-3, but also to turn it into an electric vehicle. And that's just what it's doing.
The latest news coming out of Sweden indicates that NEVS/Saab has started building the first examples of the 9-3 EV. These first 200 or so examples are set to be shipped off to Qingdao - the Chinese city that is home to the Tsingtao brewery, hosted the sailing components of the 2008 summer games on Beijing, was supposed to host an IndyCar race in 2012 before it was canceled, and also itself just happens to own 22 percent of NEVS.
These first EVs have their batteries mounted down low in the chassis for a low center of gravity and have a range of about 20 miles on a full charge. That's absolutely paltry compared to the other EVs on the market: a Nissan Leaf will travel more than four times that distance, and a Tesla Model S will go ten times farther on a charge.

Saab's latest Chinese owners facing their own credit woes

Sat, 16 Aug 2014

Poor Saab, it can't seem to get a break. General Motors couldn't seem to make a go of it, neither could Spyker, and now it seems that its latest owner is encountering some problems of its own.
That owner, of course, is National Electric Vehicle Sweden, a Swedish holding company owned by Chinese investors. NEVS recently restarted production at the Saab plant in Trollhättan, Sweden, and had some ambitious plans for the brand's revival, but it appears to have run out of cash.
This according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, which discovered that NEVS is having trouble paying its suppliers. One such supplier, called Labo Test, has reportedly been owed some $22,000 by NEVS since February, and without payment, petitioned the Swedish government to place NEVS into bankruptcy proceedings. If that seems a little extreme to you over twenty-two grand, it would seem the parties agree, as the petition has reportedly since been withdrawn.
