Selling my 1989 SPG.

THIS IS A RUNNING PARTS CAR!!!
I just bought this car, kind of spur of the moment, and it turned out to have a worse rust problem than I initially realized.  I was going to cut and weld, but...no thanks.
The rust is limited to the floor (including trunk) of this car, and the door sill/frame in that area, but its basically the whole floor.  passenger side front seems ok, but other than that its ROUGH.
Don't ask for pictures. I'm not crawling under the car. Just assume its terrible if you sit or put your feet on it- theres a reason I call this a running parts car.
The OTHER usual rust spots are actually pretty nice, like where the control arms attach to the frame.  Weird.
Anywho, this is a pretty decent running car, fires up every time, sounds ok (could use plugs/wires/general tune), the turbo seems to function as intended (I love the look on peoples faces when they get passed by this car), and MOST IMPORTANTLY, the transmission shifts with ZERO ISSUES all the way up and down the line. Clutch seems pretty good.
Power steering is on its way out the door, the tires are 70% tread BF Goodrich Touring T/As, but honestly, they are dry rotted and should be replaced. (on the other hand, I bought the car 3 hours from home and drove it straight back, at an average 80 mph, so...who knows)
Need a set of SPG rims? These are clean looking, good for 24 years old. Maybe slap some winter tires on these and swap out at the seasons?
The air and cruise don't actually work, the windows work, but the drivers switch is a tad finicky. Central locking system works.
All glass is intact.
This car has the Saab/Clarion tape deck and eq, but the deck is locked out and the eq doesn't seem to turn on, but that may be because of the deck being locked.
The body seems to be intact, other than a little rust on the passenger fender. Drivers side fender is 100%, doors look ok, rear quarters are good. Hatch has no rust, but is all smashed up at the bottom.  Still seals and locks. Hard to get a good pic of this for some reason, but trust me when I say this hatch is done. Good thing that has to be the single easiest part to get.
Interior is...lame. Headliner is gone, front seats need redone, dash has lots of cracks and I think someone had it out at one point. Crap as far as the eye can see.
Actually, no, the backseat is awesome. Gorgeous. Like new. Cause thats what the people want. A nice backseat.

Ok, I think I got it all.
Any questions NOT ABOUT the rusted out floor/frame rails, feel free.

Good luck.

This virtually new, very last Saab 9-3 could be yours

Mon, Oct 7 2019

The date is October 7, 2019, and it is currently possible to buy a virtually new 2014 Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4. Spiking the car's rarity is the fact that this specific vehicle is said to be the last Saab to roll off the production line in Trollhattan, Sweden. Driven only 41 miles, chassis No. YTNFD4AZXE1100257 is a true piece of Swedish automotive history, and it's set for auction this month. We first got word of this car back in June 2019, and the time has finally come for this Saab to be sold. As previously reported, this vehicle is from the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) era. The seller, Bilweb Auctions, says it is the last Saab to come off the manufacturing line, and it was reportedly set aside for crash testing. The testing never occurred, and the sedan, one of only 420 built, survived. The seller says the mileage comes from running the car on the test track next to the old plant for photography and videography purposes.  This 9-3 Aero uses a Ecotec 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 217 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It has immaculate Diamond Silver paint and matching silver turbine wheels. Inside, there is a two-tone interior with cream leather seats, a black dashboard, and black accents. According to Autocar, the proceeds of the auction will go to NEVS' Sustainable Mobility Scholarship at University West in Sweden. Bidding on the car opens soon, and interested parties can sign up to be alerted when the auction starts.   Auto News Auctions Saab Sedan

Last Saab 9-3 built nets nearly $48,000 at auction

Thu, Nov 14 2019

It was among the last Saabs to roll off the production line in Trollhattan, Sweden, is virtually new, and now it has a new owner. The Saab 9-3 Aero Turbo4 we told you about a month ago has sold in an auction for the equivalent of $47,789. As with anything related to the remnants of the legendary Swedish automotive brand, the backstory on this one is a little complicated, starting with the model year. Saab originally ground production to a halt in 2011. This model came about after National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) acquired the brand out of bankruptcy, and was part of a run of 420 models built starting in late 2013 before NEVS lost the rights to use the Saab name and griffin logo. It was originally set aside for crash testing, but never actually used for that purpose, and mostly sat idle inside the plant, in case NEVS restarted production of combustion vehicles. The 41 miles on the odometer came from running the car on a test track near the Trollhattan plant for photography and video purposes. It features a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine that makes 217 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It has a two-tone interior with cream leather seats and a dashboard and center console that looks like what you might expect to result from Saab's parts-sharing arrangement under the ownership of bankruptcy-era General Motors. Nowadays, NEVS has financial backing from Chinese investors and is making electric vehicles based on the 9-3 platform and body, just without any Saab badging. It continues to operate the Trollhattan plant and another in Tianjin, China, and it reportedly plans a new plant in Shanghai. NEVS also has partnered with Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg in a venture to develop new EVs. The 9-3 buyer’s name is Claus Spaangaard. HeÂ’s a Danish car collector and car-repair shop owner who says he already owns two Saab cars. Proceeds from the auction will fund research into sustainable mobility in Sweden, NEVS says.

NEVS' reorganization plan approved after all?

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

What a difference a day makes. Thursday, we reported that current Saab parent National Electric Vehicle Sweden had its application for creditor protection denied by the Swedish court for being "vague and completely undocumented." But NEVS was back in court on Friday, and this time the application was granted. However, the story continued to get weirder as defense contractor Saab AB allegedly revoked NEVS' rights to use the Saab name.
NEVS did put out a brief press release confirming the court decision saying: "The District court of Vänersborg, Sweden, today August 29 approved the application for reorganization from National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB." The company allegedly has over 90 creditors, and according to Reuters, it owes them roughly 400 million Swedish krona ($57.56 million). The business says that it is in negotiations with two, unnamed companies to get additional funding.
Also, according to Reuters, Saab AB, best known for making fighter planes, has revoked NEVS' rights to the Saab brand name because the company's application for creditor protection gave the defense contractor that right. When NEVS bought Saab, it only acquired the automaker's physical assets, and had to negotiate for the rights to use the name.
