2001 Saab 9-5 Turbo Runs Excellent No Reserve And Cheap!!! on 2040-cars
Hopewell Junction, New York, United States
Vehicle runs and drives 100%. New tires with less than 1,000 miles on them and brakes were done last year. Has 190k miles.......... transmission, turbo and water pump were replaced by the previous owner he said at 140k. Mechanically sound. Exterior has a couple of very minor scratches and small "waving" in the doors that are normal for these Saabs. Leather has no rips and moonroof works perfect. *Great car to get around town or long trips *No leaks whatsover *Battery replaced a year ago *Wheels have no scuffs or any visible signs of wear *Non-smoker *Clean NYS title in hand! *Super comfortable and has plenty of power *27-30 mpg !!! *I did regular oil changes at the dealership with synthtic blend oil every time. Previouse owner also did all maintenance at the Saab dealership according to Carfax *2 key remotes (trunk button does not work so you have to open trunk manually with key) No big deal I am only selling because I have 3 cars in my driveway and have no room for it. It is registered and insured and used as a daily commuter to work. Ice cold AC and hot heat. Never lets me down. I really do not want to sell because it runs THAT WELL! I hate to see it go but I am sure it will make someone happy who wants a cheap reliable vehicle that is super safe. **I see no reason why this doesnt go another 100k easily with normal maintenence!!!! Any questions you can text me 914-438-5722 (Chris) Cash ONLY. To be paid in full in person |

Why won't automakers slap on a turbo badge anymore?
Thu, Sep 10 2015Where have all the turbos gone? Not the actual pieces that go in the engine, mind you, those are everywhere these days as automakers downsize cylinder counts and boost efficiency and CO2 claims. But the turbo badges and fanfare are missing. Back when turbos were something to get excited about there was "turbo-driven," "turbonium," and "The Turbo Zone," among other silly lines. But now that basically every car is getting some sort of boost even on the lowliest trims, automakers are almost sliding in the turbos under the radar. Or if you look at some of the nomenclature, pretending they don't exist at all. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border. The latest automaker to hide that it has boosted the turbo presence is Porsche with the 2017 911 lineup. Even the standard Carrera models now get turbocharged flat-six engines, meaning the 911 Turbo models aren't quite as special as they once were. Porsche is in a sticky situation with this. The 911 Turbo, after all, signifies where the 911 family takes off from being a sports car and becomes the Ferrari fighter. The 911 Turbo badge shows where the car goes from being sane to lunatic. It's an important border, but now Porsche has crossed it and is trying to downplay the fact. There are a lot of exaggerations with displacement badges today, with claims the 2.0-liter turbo four in a Mercedes C Class equates to a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter six to make a C300. Volvo is pretty far up there, too, saying an XC90 T8 means V8 power, even though it's a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged four with electric assist. I don't know why BMW can't just call the car a 330i Turbo, rather than inflating the numbers up to 340i. Saab tried all of this back in the '90s when it decided to turbocharge its entire lineup, from light pressure units all the way up to models actually called "Saab 9-3 HOT" (for high-output turbo). But then the brand deleted any external reference to the turbo under the hood and people wondered why they were buying a $42,000 four-cylinder convertible. And that didn't turn out well. Even though these turbo replacements often make more power than their naturally aspirated predecessors, they're very different engines. People knew something changed when they exchanged their leased 328i with a 3.0-liter six for a 328i with a 2.0-liter turbo four.
3 former Saab execs charged with tax evasion
Mon, 20 May 2013The Associated Press reports three former Saab executives have been arrested on charges of accounting fraud. Swedish prosecutor Olof Sahlgren has refused to identify the individuals, but says they're suspected of attempting to evade taxes by falsifying Saab accounts between 2010 and 2011 during the Spyker years. Other reports indicate the parties involved include former General Counsel to Saab Kristina Geers (seen to the left of former CEO Victor Muller, above), a 15-year-veteran of the company - her husband, Eric, was the company's communications director for 9 years as well.
Saab filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and was purchased shortly thereafter by National Electric Vehicle Sweden. If convicted, the trio could face up to four years in prison for their crimes under Swedish law.
Victor Muller to pay Sweden back taxes for Saab work
Thu, 03 Oct 2013Victor Muller, Saab's CEO from 2010 to 2011, has been ordered by the Swedish court to pay the back taxes he owes the country for his work at Saab, Autoweek and Volkskrant report. When he was the automaker's CEO he received a salary of about 8 million Swedish Krona ($1.25 million), which was recorded as a reward for consultancy work for a company in the US that Muller owns. The move allowed him to evade taxes for awhile, but the court has ordered him to pay taxes on his full salary.
Muller, who is also CEO of Spyker, and two other Saab executives were accused of accounting fraud in May, which took place in 2010 and 2011. According to reports, Muller maintains that he is not subject to taxes in Sweden.
