This is well cared example of rare 02 saab 9-5 aero wagon with ventilated seats!

The good: 1. Black with beige interior and rare ventilated seats! and since it's aero trim, it has front & rear heated seats as well.
               2. Rear windows are tinted.
               3. The engine was replaced under warranty by saab around 78K miles. not only that, whole motor was replaced with updated motor from 2005MY. later ECU was tuned by BSR to reach 265hp; just got fresh oil change with mobil 1 ow-40 synthetic oil change. and previous owner did oil change religiously at every 3500 miles.
               4. Koni Sports Suspension (adjustable with lifetime warranty) + 1.5inch lowered eibach suspension installed.
               5. Pioneer P2400BT, bluetooth, DVD, MP3 player is installed with working steering wheel remote.
               6. It has xenon headlight from factory
               7. Currently has winter tire with steel wheel installed. If you want factory 17" aero wheel (painted black), you can do so for additional $500.
               8. Very clean body & interior

The not-so-good
               1. body stone chips on the hood & rear decklid (it has factory installed hood-edge stripe) and front lip spoiler has crack.
               2. Driver side xenon headlight is kind of foggy (common problem of those saab)
               3. transmission mount (it cost $20 for parts and 0.5hrs labor) is on the way out.
               4. Front brake pad is start to worn out.
               5. there's popping sound from spring. that's from lowered suspension. you can spend money to make it go away but it will come back.
               6. SID (Saab information Display on the top of radio) has missing pixels. Common problems with saab and you can repair it cheaply.

Rare 9-5 SportCombi, 9-4X models being sold off in Saab asset auction

Mon, 03 Dec 2012

Saab lovers take notice. Swedish auction house KVD has some ultra rare Saab products on the block, and we're not talking about a 1950s Saab 92. Up for auction are a bunch of low-mileage Saab models being sold off as part of the bankrupted automaker's assets. Included in the lot of cars are models like the 2012 9-5 SportCombi (above), the 2012 9-4X (shown below) and even a 9-5 sedan driven by Victor Muller himself.
Discovered by PistonHeads, this Saab auction has numerous 9-5 SportCombi and 9-4X models, which should prove to be very rare cars. Only a small number of 9-4Xs were ever sold, and Saab closed up shop before the 9-5 SportCombi could even go on sale here. In addition to the rarity, many of the cars have fewer than 10 miles on their odometers and seemingly low reserve prices; a 9-4X 3.0 XWD Premium with just six miles has a current bid of 180,000 Swedish Krona (just over $27,000 USD) that has already met the reserve price. Some of the cars still have the protective factory shipping tape covering up the interior and exterior.
Other than the rare SportCombis and 9-4Xs being auctioned off, there's also a sharp 2012 9-3 Cabriolet with 11 miles on the clock and a V8-powered 2006 Saab 9-7X with just 3,003 miles.

Saab to reintroduce 9-3 SportCombi as Phoenix development continues

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

The saga of Saab goes to show that you can't keep a good automaker down. Founded back in 1947 (the same year, incidentally, as Ferrari, TVR and Maserati defector OSCA), Saab split off from its aerospace division, merged with Scania trucks, was subsequently picked up by General Motors, then pawned off onto Spyker before its current Chinese owners brought it back out of bankruptcy. Now under the auspices of National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), Saab has official restarted production of the 9-3 sedan, but what are its plans for the future?
In correspondence with Autoblog, NEVS communications director Mikael Ostlund gave us an idea of what to expect. First of all, NEVS is living up to its name by launching an electric version of the 9-3. As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the 9-3 EV currently is undergoing a pilot launch in the Chinese city of Qingdao (which owns part of NEVS) before being rolled out in other markets around the world. But that's not all NEVS has planned for Saab.
The reborn Swedish automaker also plans to relaunch the 9-3 SportCombi to supplement the 9-3 sedan. The wagon version was part of the second-gen 9-3's rollout in the early 2000s, offering increased cargo space and versatility - particularly vital since GM had seen it fit to replace the previous hatchback bodystyle favored by the brand faithful with a more traditional trunked form to lure new buyers into the fold. Although Ostlund confirmed that NEVS has "the option of adding the convertible" back into the lineup, nut has yet to decide on if and when it will do so.

Super sleeper Saab 900 does 174 mph in the standing mile

Sun, 14 Apr 2013

Somewhere behind Hennessey setting a new top speed record at this year's Texas Mile with its camouflage Ford GT, a stock-looking 1996 Saab 900T pulled up to the line to see what it could do. The dealer showroom wheels wouldn't offer any indication that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood was getting help from a Garrett turbocharger, a tuned ECU and E85 gas to put out 465 horsepower at the front wheels.
Knowing that, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that at the other end of the mile the sky blue Swedish wonder was doing 174 miles per hour. The four-cylinder class at the Texas Mile has plenty such rockets, too, this Swede coming just behind a Dodge Neon that did 175.8 mph. You can watch the Saab do its thing in the video below.
