Up for auction is a beautiful 2011 SAAB 9-3 WITH ONLY 18,121 MILES great commuter vehicle. I want to remind all bidders that you are not buying from a high volume repair shop. I'm the owner, mechanic, collision repair and painter I do it all since I was 15 years old. I carefully hand pick these vehicles and make sure that they have little damage and please if you are not sure who your buying from look at my feedback. This vehicle has a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder engine which runs perfect with no noises or leaks of any kind. The automatic transmission also in perfect condition shifting perfectly threw all gears and again no leaks of any kind. It has power windows, power sunroof, power steering, power brakes, anti lock brakes, factory alarm, heated seats, side air bags, power mirrors, tilt telescopic wheel, power door locks and cd player. This vehicle runs and drives perfect no exceptions. The brakes in the front have about 70% of life left and the rear have a little bit more. The tires in the back have about 60% of life left and the front have about 75% of life. The alloy wheels are in really nice condition. The exterior is in beautiful condition with no dents and plenty of shine on the paint. The interior is also in beautiful condition please look at pictures. I purchased this vehicle with front collision over the frame rails. This vehicle has no frame damage at all quarantee and there was no air bag deployment and at time of purchase the vehicles battery was dead so they could not bring up the miles so it reads not actual miles but I gurantee that is the actual mileage, please check the history of the vehicle. I replaced the front rebar, hood, fender, headlights, grille, bumper cover and ac condenser all with genuine SAAB parts. I painted this vehicle with PPG paint and clear.I will provided a picture of the vehicle before it was fixed. This vehicle has passed the safety and enhanced inspection in the state of PA and will be sold with a PA Reconstructed title which can be registered in any state with out further inspection unless you live in NY you will have to pay $200 and bring the vehicle there for inspection. Junkyard Gem: 2004 Saab 9-5 Arc Wagon
Sat, Jun 6 2020As I work on my project of documenting automotive history via the machinery I find in car graveyards around the country, blank spots in the junkyard record keep showing themselves. I've remedied the lack of discarded BMW 3- and 5-Series cars in recent months, through the E46 and E39 respectively, and now I'm trying to move past the 900 in the Saab timeline. We've got the 9000 covered, and now it's the turn of the 9-3 and 9-5. Here's an '04 9-5 Arc Wagon, found in a Denver yard recently (I shot a 9-3 on the same trip and you'll see it in the near future). General Motors took over Saab in 2000, after more than a decade of 50% ownership, and so the 9-5 (or 95 if you prefer) had plenty of Opel/Holden/Vauxhall DNA in its cells. Its closest American-market relative (other than the 9-3) was the Saturn L-Series. However, you couldn't get a Saturn with a proper Saab engine under the hood, and by "proper" we mean one descended from the original Triumph Slant-4. This 2.3T turbocharged version sent 220 horsepower to the front wheels, making this a nicely quick wagon. It appears that this car endured some lean times as it approached the end of its road, with the kind of leaky-side-glass repair you do only when you know you're a car's final owner. You could get the 9-5 Wagon as the Linear, Arc, or Aero models in 2004. The Aero was the factory-hot-rod version, while the Arc was more about luxury. The leather seats in this Arc still look pretty good. Even though this car's ancestry is more German than Swedish, it has the traditional Saab console-mounted ignition switch. When it came time for The General to sell Subaru Imprezas with Saab badging, however, the ignition switches stayed in the non-Saab locations. At least the Saab-badged Chevy Trailblazer had the switch in the Trollhatten-approved location. It doesn't look as quirky as the early Saabs, which were born from Flying Barrels, but it stood up well against the competing cars offered to America's ever-shrinking pool of station wagon shoppers. Motorweek looks back at 1983 Saab 900S

Technically, the brand is still shambling around under the ownership of National Electric Vehicle Sweden, and there are continued promises of an electric version of the 9-3. However, we all suspect that the company is never really coming back, at least not as the quirky Swedish brand of the past. That's what makes watching this latest Retro Review of John Davis and the Motorweek crew driving a non-turbo 1983 Saab 900S so special. This is a great chance to see Saab still alive and kicking. While not one of the more famous turbocharged examples, the naturally aspirated 900S is still a quintessential Saab in every other way. The reviewers definitely aren't sold on the looks though, and there are plenty of jokes at its expense. Although, only paying attention to the polarizing exterior styling makes missing the good handling and immense interior utility easy. Sadly, without the aid of forced induction, the 900 offers very lackadaisical acceleration. According to this clip, the sprint to 60 miles per hour is more of jog in a leisurely 12.2 seconds. At the brand's best, Saab provided the motoring world with an alternative. If you didn't want just another boxy sedan, the brand offered something like nothing else on the road. Plus, drivers found a well-tuned turbocharged engine that provided good performance for the day. It's a company worth remembering, despite the current state of things.
Saab to reintroduce 9-3 SportCombi as Phoenix development continues
Sun, 27 Apr 2014The saga of Saab goes to show that you can't keep a good automaker down. Founded back in 1947 (the same year, incidentally, as Ferrari, TVR and Maserati defector OSCA), Saab split off from its aerospace division, merged with Scania trucks, was subsequently picked up by General Motors, then pawned off onto Spyker before its current Chinese owners brought it back out of bankruptcy. Now under the auspices of National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), Saab has official restarted production of the 9-3 sedan, but what are its plans for the future?
In correspondence with Autoblog, NEVS communications director Mikael Ostlund gave us an idea of what to expect. First of all, NEVS is living up to its name by launching an electric version of the 9-3. As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the 9-3 EV currently is undergoing a pilot launch in the Chinese city of Qingdao (which owns part of NEVS) before being rolled out in other markets around the world. But that's not all NEVS has planned for Saab.
The reborn Swedish automaker also plans to relaunch the 9-3 SportCombi to supplement the 9-3 sedan. The wagon version was part of the second-gen 9-3's rollout in the early 2000s, offering increased cargo space and versatility - particularly vital since GM had seen it fit to replace the previous hatchback bodystyle favored by the brand faithful with a more traditional trunked form to lure new buyers into the fold. Although Ostlund confirmed that NEVS has "the option of adding the convertible" back into the lineup, nut has yet to decide on if and when it will do so.
