Welcome to a wonderful opportunity. Summer is here, and I couldn't think of a better vehicle to own and drive than this sexy, distinctive Saab 9-3 ARC Convertible. Having been exclusively a Florida-owned and driven automobile, this Swedish-built ragtop (you know, Saab...the company that started out building Jet airplanes!) is absolutely beautiful and has very low mileage for the model year. This Convertible is sexy, sleek, extra-clean and priced thousands below retail. Certainly one of the most attractive color combinations for this convertible and also quite RARE. You simply do not see this gorgeous color around very much. High-gloss Parchment Silver Pearlescent Metallic exterior compliments the Sand Beige sport leather interior perfectly, and the rich, black canvas top puts the finishing touches on what is an absolutely beautiful automobile! And this 9-3 ARC has all the bells and whistles. The finish is incredible, and this is a very, very attractive automobile. Options are plenty, and they include dual 8-way adjustable power seats (with power lumbar and 3-position Memory), Premium high-power Audio System with 270Watts of power and in-dash CD, dual power mirrors, Ellipsoid System Headlamps with Auto On/Off, rear defroster, power windows and door locks, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Anti-lock braking system, 4-wheel disc brakes, factory aluminum/alloy wheels, Parking Distance Control, Integrated front fog lamps, keyless remote entry, factory security system and so much more! This one has the Luxury Package ($1,090 option) and includes wonderful interior wood appointments to go along with the full leather trim. The rich Sand Beige leather interior exudes style in what is considered by many one of the World's most reliable performance convertibles. And it is so, so inviting! This one get looks and stares everywhere because of its condition and Rarity (they do not produce them anymore folks!), and is an absolute pleasure to drive--top up, or down. The Saab tagline is "Built from Jets" and this all started when 16 airplane engineers came together and designed the first Saab automobile in 1940. The tradition has clearly continued. And of course, the power top is completely power and self-enclosed, with simply a touch of a button. With only 79,000 original miles, this 9-3 Convertible is in excellent condition. The sleek exterior has been beautifully maintained without any unsightly parking lot door dings, dents or scuffs, and of course, never, ever an accident. The front spoiler does have a minor chip from parking too close to a parking space bumper, but it is minor. This Saab is just super, super clean. Owned and driven by a mature, female driver, the interior is equally as nice. The completely power Black canvas top is equipped with a rear defroster, for those of you in not-so-fair-weather climates! 79,000 original miles folks on this garage-kept beauty! That's less than 8,500 miles per year! Obviously used as an occasional vehicle, and not as a commuter, it has been well cared for. It will be extremely tough to find another one like this! This luxury Sport Convertible accelerates quickly and drives just as smoothly. Equipped with a powerful 210 horsepower 2.0 liter Turbo-charged engine, matched with a wide-range, smooth-shifting Automatic transmission (w/ Overdrive), this convertible performs great, while still achieving upwards of 32 mpg highway...and all while sipping your favorite Cappachino or Green Tea on your morning commute....and not having to worry about shifting a Manual transmission! The factory 16-inch aluminum/alloy wheels really give this ARC a great appearance and the premium heat-and-speed rated All-season radials provide sure-footedness in any driving condition. Wet, or Dry! The front radials are brand new, and the rear have approximately 50% treadlife remaining. (We can install new rear tires for $225 at the winning bidders request). Only 79,000 original, sunny South Florida miles definitely make this ARC a winner!!! It has been a well maintained vehicle and it certainly shows. Driving this car is an absolute pleasure and it runs, drives, handles and performs as close to new as you could possibly ask for. Along with the lightly smoked Solar Ray windows, this Saab is ultra-attractive, even standing still. The previous owner LOVED this car-(and it shows!) Everything works perfectly and properly. We are offering this lovely convertible to our eBay clientele on auction for 7 days with No Reserve. That's right, the highest bidder gets it! One lucky and savvy bidder will be getting a car they will love driving and certainly enjoy owning. This car has never been smoked in. Imagine all the fun you will have with this sexy and elegant automobile, while still driving one of the safest vehicles on the road. While similar 2006 Saab Convertibles offered for sale have an AutoCheck score ranging from 77-88, ours scored an Ultra-impressive 89! How's that for peace of mind! No accidents or title problems of any kind, and only Florida-driven and documented mileage. We can certainly assist with the arrangement of transport within the Continental US. Hot rod tractor stars in Swedish version of Farmkhana
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The Nordic countries are known for their beautiful fjords, blonde-haired populace and bitter cold for a good portion of the year. The hours spent indoors during the dark, cold season apparently gives a lot of time for some crazy brainstorming. Tire store chain Vianor is highlighting the Traktor Terror in a new video. If Ken Block is the master of Gymkhana, then these guys know all about Farmkhana in their custom, turbocharged tractor.
According to the YouTube description from Vianor, the tractor is a 1956 Volvo BM Terrier with an added roll cage, adjustable front suspension and extended frame. The engine is thoroughly Swedish, and it's based on a Volvo 940 Turbo with a Volvo 240 head and Volvo 740 intercooler. However, it uses a Saab turbo Prospark ignition and fuel system. All told, the setup is claimed to make 225 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
That's not crazy power, but this tractor can certainly put it down. The farm machine has no problem smoking those big rear wheels and drifts easily.... although, it may be a tiny little bit unstable (hence the roll cage). If nothing else, this looks like the world's most fun way to be a farmer, that's for sure.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
New owners of Saab don't get to use the name
Tue, Feb 2 2016Saab won't be revived as a Chinese-backed electric car brand. Aerospace and defense company Saab AB has declined to let the new owners of the dormant automaker's old designs and factory use the name on new cars, Automotive News reports. It's a blow to fans of the Swedish brand, who hoped the name would be revived on new vehicles coming out of the same factory as models like the 99 Turbo. National Electric Vehicle Sweden, known as NEVS, bought major assets of the Saab operation in 2012 following former parent Spyker's decision to liquidate the company in December 2011. This not only included the Trollhattan assembly plant in Sweden, but the rights to the Saab 9-3 and the platform of its successor. NEVS built some new 9-3s using leftover parts and powered by the old 2.0-liter turbo engines, with the intent to raise money to produce new electric vehicles for Europe and China – and to use the Saab name. When General Motors bought all of Saab Automobile in 2000, it used the name under license from the Saab AB. That permission was then passed to Spyker in 2010 and later NEVS, albeit without the griffin logo. But when NEVS sought creditor protection in 2014, Saab AB revoked the naming rights. Following reorganization, NEVS in August announced a deal with Dongfeng Motor Corp. to develop a new lineup of electric vehicles, which was revealed in December to include five new models by 2018, some assembled in China by 2020 – the first of which being an EV version of the old 9-3. However, Saab AB told Automotive News that discussions have ended regarding the use of the Saab name on these vehicles. NEVS owner Kai Johan Jiang told a Swedish radio station the company will find a new name to market the cars under when they go on sale. It's similar to what happened to SAIC when it purchased vehicle technology from bankrupt British carmaker MG Rover. While it had the tooling to essentially make the Rover 75, the brand name at the time belonged to BMW and barred SAIC from using it, so the Roewe brand was created in China. It's unclear why talks broke down and also where NEVS will get a new name (there aren't nicer ways to spell Saab, and it was originally an acronym, anyway). Will Saab AB attach its name to another line of cars? Probably not. What it does mean, however, is that Saab fans have to cling tighter to their old cars now. Perhaps that's for the best.
