2005 Saab 9-3 2.0T for sale. This car was only owned by 1 person before me. I bought it in 2008 when it had 37,500 miles and it now has 87,500. Not bad for a car that's 8 years old. I don't drive it a lot in the past 2 years since I only live 2 miles from work and rarely take it on the interstate unless I'm on a road trip. I ALWAYS put 93 octane in it at the gas pump. 4 brand new tires were put on a year ago and about a year and a half ago I had the brakes and rotors redone. The starter was replaced last month in May 2013. This car has great pick up for stock parts. This was the good part.
No AC/Heat as of last Oct '12
Driver side window doesn't go down, but all others do
The headlight bulbs keep needing to be replaced
There's a CD stuck in the CD player
The brights work but the lever you pull to activate them does not stay engaged.
NEEDS BODY WORK AND A LITTLE TLC. Due to neighborhood parking where I work in the Virginia Highland area, people have loved to ding my car on the bumper and mirrors and NEVER leave a note.
The shifter knob is taped together because a plastic button kept popping off and it was annoying.
THIS IS A GREAT CAR FOR A SAAB ENTHUSIAST OR SOMEONE LOOKING FOR A PROJECT OR AN INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITY. SAABS ARE NO LONGER IN PRODUCTION AS OF 2012 AND IF YOU HAVE THE TIME OR EXPERTISE TO PART IT OUT, YOU COULD MAKE MONEY OFF THIS DEAL SINCE THE ENGINE IS A SMOOTH RUNNING TURBO AND DOESN'T HAVE EXCESSIVE MILEAGE YET.
ASK ME ANYTHING. I WILL BE 100% HONEST. I don't want to waste your time or mine so I'm putting everything out in the open.

Junkyard Gem: 1989 Saab 900 Turbo Convertible
Fri, Oct 14 2022I live in Colorado, where Saabs were loved deeply by residents going way back to the 96 (and I'm sure a few 92s were sold here in the 1950s, though I haven't found any in local car graveyards … yet). By far the easiest pre-GM Trollhattanites to find in Centennial State wrecking yards these days are the 1978-1993 900s, and I walk by a half-dozen for each one that I document as a Junkyard Gem. We admired a gloriously brown 900 Turbo two-door a few months back, but today's 900 Turbo is an extremely rare cabriolet version, the first I've found in a boneyard in at least 15 years. The convertible 900 was available only as a turbocharged version in the United States when it was introduced for the 1986 model year, and that continued through 1991. After that, a naturally-aspirated 900 convertible could be bought here. When in very nice condition, these cars can bring tidy sums. A super-low-mile '87 900 Turbo convertible just sold for $145,000 recently, in fact. This car has more than 843 times as many miles on the odometer as that car, however, and it shows every one of them. It's not terribly rusty, considering, but the sheet metal shows many battle scars, and the interior is about what you'd expect with 33-year-old leather. Last year's film adaptation of Haruki Murakami's short story, "Drive My Car," put the Saab 900 Turbo back into mainstream cultural awareness. However, that car is a two-door sedan; the best-known Saab 900 Turbo Convertible in cinema history is the one driven by Iben Hjelje's character in the film adaptation of the Nick Hornby novel, "High Fidelity." These cars were fairly quick for their time, with 160 horsepower from this DOHC 2.0-liter straight-four in 1989. Having seen more than my share of 900 Turbos going up against same-era BMW E30s and Acura Integras on road courses, I'd put my money on the Saab in a wheel-to-wheel race (that is, in a race short enough to keep the Swede's nervous engine alive). While a three-speed automatic was available on this car, the kind of Americans odd enough to buy Saabs in 1989 also tended to be the type that wanted manual transmissions. In fact, I can't recall ever seeing a (non-Opel-based) 900 with a slushbox. Yes, Opel! Starting in the 1994 model year, the 900 name went on a car based on the Opel Vectra platform. Later on, the Saab 9-5 and Saturn L-Series lived on the same chassis. Given all the luxury features and genuine performance, this car was a pretty good value for the price in 1989.
GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect
Fri, 13 Jun 2014General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.
Super sleeper Saab 900 does 174 mph in the standing mile
Sun, 14 Apr 2013Somewhere behind Hennessey setting a new top speed record at this year's Texas Mile with its camouflage Ford GT, a stock-looking 1996 Saab 900T pulled up to the line to see what it could do. The dealer showroom wheels wouldn't offer any indication that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood was getting help from a Garrett turbocharger, a tuned ECU and E85 gas to put out 465 horsepower at the front wheels.
Knowing that, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that at the other end of the mile the sky blue Swedish wonder was doing 174 miles per hour. The four-cylinder class at the Texas Mile has plenty such rockets, too, this Swede coming just behind a Dodge Neon that did 175.8 mph. You can watch the Saab do its thing in the video below.
